This small semi detached house in Brixton is full of character. It is warm and sunny with gleaming wooden strip floors and original pressed ceilings.
Brixton is a friendly, diverse neighbourhood where you find people on the streets. The house is close to the 2 main universities plus Braamfontein & Melville. The artist's Bag Factory is very close by. Soweto is also not far from us.
If it is diversity and the real Joburg experience you are looking for, this is for you!

The space
It is sunny and light. We have put in a lot of care and attention into this space. We always keep in mind that if it is a space we would like to stay in, then it is good for guests.
It has one bedroom and an open plan lounge and kitchen area leading out to a sunny courtyard.
The floors are all wooden and the ceilings are old pressed metal ceilings. This semi detached house was built in 1935 and it's character and authenticity has been retained with some modern edges.
Safe, quiet and peaceful. We live just next door and are always available for a visit, either at hime or at our eatery around the corner: the Roving Bantu Kitchen. We are very lucky to have a fabulous coffee shop one block away. All that you need is right here in our hood.
The house is fully equipped an due have fast fibre wifi.

Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Brixton is not an affluent neighbourhood but is going through a very exciting transformation. It is culturally, socially and economically diverse and this is why we love to live here
We have a very active community who look out for each other and we socialise and organise community events

We now have a fabulous coffee shop around the corner from us which is open for breakfast and lunch. Breeze block. Sifiso and I have an afro soul food eatery 2 blocks away which is open for lunches and dinners. It includes cultural events and sometimes live music performances. It is called the Roving Bantu Kitchen

We have a small eatery around the corner from where we serve up afro soul food. You can expect to meet great people here. Listen to a live jazz performances and eat some tasty meals.
