The apartment was everything we had expected from the reviews. Its location is terrific, right at the heart of Saint German and within walking distance to the Isle de la Cite, Louvre, the Tuillerie Gardens. We love to walk so we walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower and even to the Arc of Triumph (that was a hike though). The restaurants around the apartment are great and offer decent value. We actually preferred to it around the neighborhood. There is a great bar across the apartment that was always filled with locals. There is also a small grocery store on the street where you can buy food for breakfast, snack and an excellent bottle of wine for around 5 euros.
The apartment itself was small, but we rarely spent time there. It's perfect for a couple, but there were three of us so we had to unfold the sleeper couch and keep it unfolded for convenience. It also have a lovely inner yard and a tiny balcony that overlooks it. We had our tea / drinks there several times.
Gilles was responsive and provided us with new towels and additional pillows that we requested a couple of days into our stay. If you are a complete neat freak, you might find that some areas of the apartment were not completely pristine (for example, we have rewashed the dishes that we used and wore slippers as the floor was a bit sticky). However, like everything else in Paris, this apartment is hundreds of years old, so things do not feel new. The bathroom was clean and updated though and so was the kitchen.
Gilles was very helpful throughout. The apartment was just as described and was just 5 minutes from the Odeon Metro station and 1 minute from the Seine and the Ile de la Cite. The location is fantastic - easy walking to the major museums and parks within the old city and close to lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and supermarkets. Although in a lively and bustling neighbourhood the apartment was very quiet and it was lovely to have the balcony to sit and enjoy a drink or two.
The location of this apartment in St. Germain is close to ideal and it was a pretty good size. A few minutes walk north or south takes one to the Louvre or to bustling cafes, restaurants, and shopping. However, not everything was up to par. Gilles did not answer his phone, despite a number of requests to call us back, preferring to text us, which made us rather apprehensive as we approached Paris by rental car without having all arrangements definitely settled. Once installed, we discovered that the TV was not functioning, a major concern for some people who want simply to zone out after a hard day’s touring. The bidet was also out of order – not a big deal for us, but for those who would like to try one, or for French visitors who consider one to be de rigeur, this would be a disappointment. The shower provided instant hot water, but could also stand to have some very dirty grout cleaned. A number of light fixtures and lamps did not work. All in all, the apartment photographed much better than it appeared in real life - it could definitely use some TLC. Given the relatively high price compared to other Airbnb rentals, we were wondering by the end of our stay whether it would have been better to stay in one of the many moderately priced hotels in the area. For our part, we would not consider returning to this apartment when we next visit Paris.

It was a nice apartment in the Latin quarter! Would recommend it!
