The neighborhood changes with the seasons. In the summer and the months that bracket it, the community is lively with people on vacation, relaxing and enjoying all that LP has to offer. There are community activities, especially for children which include bingo, movie night, family sports night. These events are held in the community center. The dock becomes a social hub with people swimming out to the floating dock. and enjoying the beach. The rest of the year, LP is less active but very serene and beautiful. About half of the residence of LP are year round.

Our favorite attractions here include the Mystic Seaport, the Mystic Drawbridge and waterfront, the shops and restaurants. The Mystic Aquarium and Mystick Village is also nearby. There are local vineyard and nature preserves. Check out Barn Island for a beautiful hike with migratory shore birds. Kayaking is a special adventure around here with numerous secluded coastal inlets. Stonington Boro is also a hidden gem with a nice waterfront and beach at Stonington Point where the Battle of Stonington took place in the War of 1812. There is a the Light House Museum, the Velvet Mill, (an artistic community), a guilded age library, exquisite nineteenth century architecture, restaurants, antique shops. It is an extremely well preserved New England Whaling village. There are wonderful roads for bicycling, with few cars to bother you.
The seaside cottage was the perfect getaway! It is exactly as pictured. Very cozy and Alex was very responsive and attentive. The house is right on the water and the location is great for exploring nearby towns. We hope to return in the summer!
We had a wonderful experience. Alex was a very kind host. The location was absolutely breath-taking, even in the winter. We wrote a post about our overnight trip here: (website hidden) under "Weekend Wanderlust" if anyone wants to see some great pictures of the view and area. We can't wait to go back!
Cute cottage in a quiet spot. Enjoyed the stay even though the place is better suited to summer. Alex is really great and very accommodating.
Would definitely go back in summer.
Great little cottage! The owners are on property and available when you need them, yet I still felt that I had my privacy. The upstairs loft has great views of the water and the sunset. Nice dock across the street to watch sunsets. Stonington Borrough has great shops and restaurants [though many of the shops were closed on Monday.] I enjoyed eating at the Dog Watch Cafe and the Skipper's Dock, which is unfortunately closing for good this Sunday 10/27/13. Great trip, just what the doctor ordered!!
I was traveling alone and felt very comfortable.
This place is really great. Beautiful location, the perfect place to get away for a couple of days but also near some very interesting places if you feel like leaving the cottage. Alex was very accommodating and very pleasant. We had a wonderful stay!
We have nothing but great things to say about this cottage! Alex was an exceptional host, he was very warm and welcoming. The property is perfect for two people, very cozy! Also, this property has very pretty views of the water. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend getaway thanks to Alex, We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
My wife and I spent one night here and had a lovely time. A comfy little cottage overlooking the water. Nothing fancy, but you really can't beat the location. Stunning views, a nice residential area, and just a few minutes drive to Stonington and Mystic. We made a very last-minute reservation and Alex was extremely helpful and accommodating.
The cottage is right on the water, simple, and lovely. It is very peaceful and perfectly located between Mystic and Stonington. Alex lives on the property, right next to the cottage, but was very hands off, I only saw him one time, by chance. There were a couple of mix-ups with my reservation but Alex was responsive to the issue.
The seaside cottage is a wonderful place for a getaway - peaceful, beautiful and perfect for two .. Alex is a great host and we would love to stay here again!
Nice little guest house that is a couple miles away from Mystic and Stonington Borough. Would be a little tight for more than two people, but great for a couple looking for a quiet getaway.
