About This Listing
A cozy space in a great location with easy access to everything wonderful in PDX.
This space is just steps from everything that makes NW Portland so fantastic. Also located along the streetcar line, you'll have no problem further exploring Portland.
Hungry? Feed your belly at any of the delicious spots in the Pearl District or Nob Hill.
Thirsty? Cafes, breweries and wine bars abound.
Got a hankering for culture? Art galleries and theaters populate the area.
Like to shop? The plethora of boutiques should satiate your fashion desires.
Feeling like a hike? Forest Park - the largest park within city limits in the US - is just a short walk away.
No doubt this is a fabulous location to spend your time in PDX.
An elevator takes you up to the top floor of the building. Stepping into the apartment drenches you in light from large bay windows in both the living room and bedroom. Facing south, you have natural light all day long (even on the grayest of days that we are so well known for).
There is a full size, spa quality bed in the bedroom. I don't have cable TV, but I DO have a mini DisplayPort cord, and an iPhone cord (not compatible with iPhone 5) so you can stream Netflix or similar. Please note you need to bring your own devices to use the TV. I just provide the connection :) I also do NOT own a microwave, but the gas stove works great!
There are ceiling fans if you feel the need to get the air moving.
I have lived in this neighborhood for 3 years. If you would like recommendations for anything to see, eat, drink, or do, then check out my neighborhood guide!
I am a photographer with a business to call my own.

Interaction with Guests
Just enough communication to make sure you have a great stay!
You can walk everywhere! Situated right between the Pearl District and Nob Hill, you are indeed staying in the heart of Portland. And don't forget Forest Park is right at your fingertips! No need to leave town to escape to the woods for a hike.
The streetcar is 2 blocks way. The Max is 10 blocks. Buses are all over!
Be courteous in respect to space and property. This is an apartment building so there are people around you. You're on the top floor so there is no one above you and sometimes it's easy to forget there are people below. Common sense should rule. Don't be practicing your jumping jack form at 3 am ;-)
No pets. Please leave Fido and Fluffy at home.
This is a green friendly home.
Absolutely no late checkouts unless confirmed in advance.
Amy's apartment is lovely and just as pictured. It's in a great neighborhood with many excellent coffee shops and good shopping and restaurants all walking distance. My personal favorite local spot was Laughing Planet (one of Amy's recs). I practically ate lunch here every single day--clean, healthy, reasonable, delicious good food.
The nearest Max stop is not super close, so I found myself walking everywhere which was great and really gave me a sense of the city. The Pearl and Downtown are both very accessible from Amy's. There's also a bike rental shop up on 21st where you can rent a bike for a day for $30. Very much recommend biking over the river and checking out some of the restaurants on the Eastside, particularly on Division, Alberta and Mississippi. So many good restaurants and bars, so little time!
Amy was a pleasure to deal with, always quick to respond and very friendly and kind whenever I had any questions for her. I very much enjoyed our text exchanges.
One thing that surprised me when I first arrived was the old funkiness of the building, which has quite a different vibe from the airiness of Amy's apartment, full of plants and light and good vibes. But in a way this made me feel like a real local, and I grew quite fond of the whole place, old school elevator and all.
All in all it was a lovely trip and I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Amy!
Amy was such a pleasant and welcoming host! I never met her face-to-face, but through messaging she was so helpful and sweet. Her instructions for checking in were clear and had everything I needed to know for my 17-day stay. The apartment was just as described and photographed. Bed was SO comfy! It did get very hot for my May stay, but I used all supplied fans and kept the windows open. I didn't use the TV because the cords didn't work with my iPad/iPhone/laptop, but the internet was extremely fast so I ended up watching Netflix on my iPad. PERFECT location between NW and Pearl District and felt very safe and secure. AWESOME first Airbnb experience. I highly recommend working with Amy! She was awesome! If you can deal with no A/C, cable TV or microwave (which you SHOULD be able to! Go Explore!!), and LOVE the Northwest/Pearl district and cute, trendy decor, this is the perfect place for you.
Really nice place on a quiet street in a good area. It was super easy to get around both walking and by train. We had a minor snafu the day after arriving and Amy was responsive and helpful and we got everything sorted out quickly.
The apartment was spacious with furniture, pictures, etc and definitely felt like someone's home. We didn't hear any noisy neighbors, so you could crash after a long day of wandering around and enjoying Portland.
Really a perfect location and great response times from Amy on some questions. Great neighbourhood and excellent communication!
Amy's manual had all the details we needed to make our arrival and stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. The location is truly fabulous. We ended walking everywhere. Portland is a great city and staying in Amy's place made us feel at home there!
Amy's apartment was everything we expected and more. Very cozy and welcoming, and the location was great. We were able to walk to restaurants and bars close by and felt we got a good taste for the city. The apartment was comfortable and clean, with all the odds and ends we needed (towels, extra blankets, a French press for coffee, and more), it felt like a home away from home. The neighbors were quiet and we didn't see many of them, and even with the windows open noise from the street is minimal. We slept very well.
The only trouble we had was with finding parking, which can be tricky with all the one to two hour time limit areas (though the limits don't apply after 7 usually). However, we always managed to get a spot within a few blocks after circling a bit.
The apartment itself was just as advertised. We would do it again just the same. A bit thanks to Amy for being such a welcoming host!
location location location! Amy's place was great! 21st and 23rd are the main streets nearby with lots of cafes, coffee shops, etc. We arrived to Amy's place by transit from the airport. Super easy. You def do not need a car if you are staying here - and we were traveling with our 2 year old. We also went to the zoo by transit, which was so easily accessible.
Amy responded to our questions and email correspondence within 24 hours. Her place looks exactly like it does in the photos. It's a quiet neighborhood which was also nice.
