House Rules

Be courteous in respect to space and property. This is an apartment building so there are people around you. You're on the top floor so there is no one above you and sometimes it's easy to forget there are people below. Common sense should rule. Don't be practicing your jumping jack form at 3 am ;-)

No pets. Please leave Fido and Fluffy at home.

This is a green friendly home. Cannabis is legal so feel free to enjoy :-) Please note that some of my neighbors partake so sometimes the hallway can smell of marijuana.

Absolutely no late checkouts or early checkins unless confirmed in advance.

You must also acknowledge
Pet(s) live on property - Some of my neighbors have dogs or cats. All are super sweet and respectful :-)

Great location. We loved walking to the Pearl District or renting public bikes around town or catching the train which was super close by. Awesome coffee shop 1/2 block away. We ate breakfast there every day of our stay. Cool guitar shop next door. Apartment is in a bigger building than we imagined. Maybe 40 apartments in the building. Has an elevator. Neighbors are quiet as is the neighborhood. Building itself is a bit run down. Walls a bit shabby all around. The common space carpet (outside of Amy's apartment) needs to be cleaned and kept up, but that didn't bother us, just alerting for more fussy folks. Once inside Amy's apartment we found nice wood floors and a spacious clean space. Not for those who want a real upscale accommodation but great for folks who want an affordable, clean, comfortable, and accommodating airBnB. Comfortable bed and good shower pressure. Nice big bedroom and sitting room. Lots of windows for fresh air. We were very comfortable and again, really enjoyed the location.

Response from Amy:
Thank you for the review, Jennifer! I appreciate the notes about the building being a bit run down -- it's over 100 years old and could definitely use some updates (hallway carpeting, fresh paint, etc.). Like you mentioned, fussier folks may want to stay elsewhere. The new apartment/condo buildings in the area are a much better fit as most of them were built in the last few years. I'm so glad you enjoyed the location and especially the coffee shop called Commissary. They have become a PDX favorite and it's wonderful that they are only half a block away!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The apartment gets great morning sunlight. Amy was very responsive and helpful. The neighbors were a bit noisy but only for a short period of time and it is in the city so to be expected in city living.

I absolutely loved staying at Amy's place during my week long stay in Portland. The apartment is spacious / bright / clean. Location is ideal; a quiet street while also very connected by foot and public transportation. Although I did not get a chance to meet Amy, she was very kind and accommodating - providing all necessary information prior to my arrival. Highly recommend.

Amy was a perfect host, so quick to respond to any questions I had. The room is perfect and bigger than you would expect. Her guide is so detailed and includes everything you would ever need to know. The location of the apartment itself is fantastic and within walking distance to almost everything we wanted to do. There's also a fantastic coffee shop basically across the street. For those that question the lack of A/C, we stayed a weekend where it was 100 degrees in Portland, and it actually wasn't unbearable to sleep at night, the ceiling fan and another fan made it comfortable enough. But to each their own! Thank you, Amy, for allowing us to stay in your wonderful apartment! We had such an amazing time in Portland and hope to be back again soon :)

Response from Amy:
Thank you for the glowing review, Victoria! It does indeed get hot in the apartment at times, but with the fans and blackout curtains we manage to keep it as cool as possible. I'm glad the space and location worked out so well for you. Thanks again for staying! You two are welcome back any time you visit Portland :-)

And the apartment was pleasant, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a weekend in Portland. Would stay again, and highly recommend! Thanks Amy!

Originally from New York, but love west coast living. I prefer solo travel and adore SE Asia. I am currently homesick for India. Wine and cheese and fruit, please.

Nice to meet you.
