A private room with AC which has a double bed and a single. A common area is used by everyone with a large deck, living room and kitchen. We also have a TV room for everyone to use. Secure parking for up to 3 cars is available. I would not recommend it for anyone that is not physically active. There are a number of stairs. WIFI is in the common areas but not in the room.
I will only receive guests after 6 pm by direct request, so ask first if you plan on arriving at night.
Sorry no arrivals after 6 pm A common area is used by everyone with a large deck, living room and kitchen. We also have a TV room for everyone to use.
We had a wonderful time staying at Anita's location. The view and surrounding areas were the best. Plenty of wildlife and walking distance to the beach. Everything you want or need is very close by as well. Anita was very helpful and the breakfast every morning was great.
We had a lovely time at Casa Buena Vista, and Anita was very hospitable. The location was central to the beach, bars, and restaurants. The room was clean, cool, and private, as described. Would definitely recommend to others!
We had a wonderful experience staying with Anita. Her pleasantly rambling property is tucked into a forested hill overlooking one of the beaches of Manuel Antonio, which affords a lovely view at breakfast every morning, as well as lots of opportunities to see wildlife up close and get some good pictures or videos. We stayed in one of the downstairs rooms with air conditioning, and were very pleased with our accommodations. The room was very spacious, and had its own kitchen area with a refrigerator. As with many places in Central and South America, you can't flush your toilet paper, but that really wasn't a problem at all with maid service everyday. We also had hot water, which was nice. For cooking, there is a full kitchen upstairs (shared with other guests), and for relaxing, there is a TV room, a sitting/book room off of the kitchen, and a wonderful, large deck with a hammock and lots of chairs and tables. There is wifi, but it didn't reach down to our room, so we had to go closer to the main part of the house to access the Internet. Anita and the maid/cook, Nuria (spelling?), were so friendly and kind. We got to practice our Spanish with Nuria, and she often used flowers and plants from the property to leave nice, thoughtful messages or designs on our bed when she made it. Anita answered all of our questions, gave us a thorough and useful intro to Casa Buena Vista and her area of town, and was a wonderful conversationalist. We really felt like we were staying at Anita's home, it felt that cozy and welcoming. If we ever happen to go to Manuel Antonio again, we'll definitely stay here again.
Anita is a great host who made us feel right at home! Her house is beautiful, the view is spectacular and breakfast was really nice, too. looking forward to coming back sometime soon!
My husband, my son and I stayed in Anita's place for 3 nights. Every morning we were greeted by Anita in the breakfast area and we felt like at home. We enjoyed the nutritional and delicious breakfast and spending time talking to Anita. Anita was super welcoming and friendly. She is knowledgeable just about everything in Costa Rica. She is a great resource for planning all activities and for traveling around and is eager to share the information with her guests.
Our room was spacious with one single bed and one double bed. There was enough space for 3 of us to spread out. In additional to the bath room which has a basin and shower, there is a basin in the living area which is very convenient for doing morning routines. Also the small fridge was a big plus. We enjoyed meeting other guests in the spacious porch and in the kitchen area. Thanks Anita for providing the relaxed and friendly environment for guests to share their traveling experiences.
The description of the room is accurate. The location of the place is excellent with walking distance to banks, bus station, stores, restaurants and to the two best beaches in Manual Antonia. This place is excellent value for the Manuel Antonio area and I highly recommend staying there. We would definitely stay here again next time I visit Manuel Antonia.
Anita was dependable. Her listing was was accurately described, and the directions were clear. She made us feel as home. The breakfast nook and the cats were a nice touch.
Anita was a great communicator. Her breakfast room has a stunning view of the peninsula at Manuel Antonio. She has lived near Quepos for decades has has a wealth of information about the natural history and evolution of the community. Room 8 was comfortable with AC, hot water, and a kitchen and fridge. The communal area includes a spacious screened-in area with books, a nice porch, and a separate TV room. There is a three-car covered garage that is locked at night. The breakfast was great and provided a chance to talk with Anita and the other guests.

I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
