Description

The Space

A private room with AC which has a double bed and a single. A common area is used by everyone with a large deck, living room and kitchen. We also have a TV room for everyone to use. Secure parking for up to 3 cars is available. I would not recommend it for anyone that is not physically active. There are a number of stairs. WIFI is in the common areas but not in the room.

I will only receive guests after 6 pm by direct request, so ask first if you plan on arriving at night.

The Neighborhood

We are located in Manuel Antonio on the road that goes between the Hotel Mariposa and the Hotel Parador. We are 400 meters down the paved road that has a small glassed in shopping center on the corner. Casa Elsa is right before us and has large lettering on their wall. We have a 3 car garage with an ocean view. Casa Buena Vista is painted on the white wall outside. If you have any problems, give me a call at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). GPS- 9º24’9”N 84º9´36”W

Getting Around

We are 2 km from the national park. You can walk down a dirt/gravel road to the main public beach and then walk along the beach to the park or you can walk to the top of our road (400 meters) and then catch a bus that goes by every 15 min

I discover Manuel Antonio 41 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
