About this listing
A private room with AC which has a double bed and a single. A common area is used by everyone with a large deck, living room and kitchen. We also have a TV room for everyone to use. Secure parking for up to 3 cars is available. I would not recommend it for anyone that is not physically active. There are a number of stairs. WIFI is in the common areas but not in the room.
I will only receive guests after 6 pm by direct request, so ask first if you plan on arriving at night.
Sorry no arrivals after 6 pm A common area is used by everyone with a large deck, living room and kitchen. We also have a TV room for everyone to use.
What a beautiful location in Manuel Antonio! Within walking distance to so many restaurants, bars, and fun shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Anita was very helpful and cooked up a delicious breakfast. The room was exactly what we wanted- very "hotel-like" in that it had lots of great amenities. Would definitely stay again.
Anita was available to meet us as arranged and our room was much as expected, spacious, comfortable and in a tropical garden location. We loved seeing the birds and wildlife around the property and in the vicinity. We had use of a communal lounge & kitchen, but mostly ate out as there was plenty of choice. We got lots of tips and information for the rest of our time in Costa Rica. It's a great destination. I hope we'll come back to Casa Buena Vista.
A very hospitable AirBnb in a very picturesque location overlooking manuel antonio bay in the distance. There was lots of wildlife in the trees outside the room and during the course of a 2 night stay we spotted monkeys, humming birds, bats and an owl! Would love to visit again!
Airbnb has a beautiful view of the Manuel Antonio National Park and is close to a secluded beach. Anita is extremely helpful and has lots of interesting life stories! Ended up making friends with a couple other fellow "AirBnB"ers and explored Manuel Antonio together. Had a great time with great accommodations.
Anita was very friendly and approachable when messaging before arrival, unfortunately she was out of the country for the duration of our stay but had advised us of this beforehand. Her housekeeper was very friendly and welcoming, but we did have to wait outside on the road for 30 minutes when we arrived; waiting to be let in! Then we had to wait a further 25 minutes before our room was ready for us. This was somewhat frustrating as we had advised what our arrival time would be in advance and it was confirmed as being fine. This minor hiccough paled into insignificance over the course of our stay however; as the housekeeper is so helpful and attentive. The room is good for the price, in Manuel Antonio and the location is great, right in the jungle. The bed wasn't that comfortable but didn't disrupt our sleep too badly to spoil our stay and the room was cleaned daily. Be advised that the communal areas are somewhat dated and there are cats! I have a cat allergy so it would have been handy for me to know in advance. Also the room was at the bottom of about 4 flights of stairs and the roads around are generally steep (particularly the track to the beach) so if you have mobility issues I would seriously stay somewhere else. The electricity can go off in the big storms and so can the water at times of heavy use. These are minor issues and the lack of power added to our experience in fact, by being able to watch the amazing lightning by candlelight (candles were provided)! The kitchen is really useful for cutting food costs by self catering for a few nights but equipment is limited and some shops nearby have limited ingredients available. Ask for directions to the best stores.
We would definitely recommend Casa Buena Vista for a good value, convenient place to stay.
Anita was extremely nice and accommodating during our stay. She provided us with great suggestions on where to eat, as well as for transportation to San Jose.
Definitely glad we booked a room with AC.. the area is very hot and humid. Wifi is spotty but good reception by the entrance and during breakfast so was not a problem.. Allowed us to get off the grid for most of the day. Walking distance to beach and restaurants.. we did not have a car and it was not an issue at all. Would definitely recommend Casa Buena Vista and hope to be back! Pura Vida!!

About the Host, Anita
I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
