The Space

A bedroom or bedrooms available in comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with Jacuzzi bath tub, big modern kitchen which is perfect for big family meals at the holidays, a great patio with just a 5 minute walk to the train/bus to SF and San Jose ($5. fare)

This is a low key, accepting place. My plates and utensils do not always match

I'm located about 15k south of SFO airport where buses run regularly and are cheap $2 (the KX is best).

It is a very friendly and safe neighborhood and my key-less entry system adds security.

LGBT friendly. Disability and wheelchair accessible. Great secure doors and windows in a safe and clean neighborhood.

Modern forced air heating with smoke and CO detectors

Patio with charcoal grill, table and chairs...veggie garden, walk to local cafe/bar/sushi.

Highest speed Wi Fi, cable TV, laundry facilities and big kitchen for you cooks: Dishwasher, coffee makers, micowave, stove, oven, blender, juicer and more.

Queen beds throughout, travel books, maps and a bicycle available for you car-less visitors FREE.

Off-street parking available in a clean, safe neighborhood. Gym is available nearby

I mostly host techies but some tourists too, people from Kenya, Israel, Austria, Canada, Australia, Belgium (Lots of fun Belgians) Czech Republic, France, Japan, many from Hong Kong also India, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Persia, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Colombia, Great Britain, Singapore, Malaysia, Sweden, Switzerland and probably a few I've forgotten -- 30 or so.

A well behaved pet is allowed $10/day fee (I must pre-approve)

Baby crib provided

Spare Twin airbed auto inflates

I DO NOT consider guests who do not have profiles with photos posted! Hey, this is my house and I need to know a little about you! Please be prepared to show a form of official identification upon arrival.

Caio for now :)

  • The place was just as advertised and just as expected. Tim wasn't there until our last morning, but did get to meet him and talk a bit. He (email hidden), extremely warm and welcoming. The house felt a lot like being at home. It's comfortable, well-furnished, and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is great. Nice, quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it 100%!

  • Tim (email hidden). I (email hidden) for 3.5 weeks while working in Redwood City and it was perfect - clean, homey and really close to the Caltrain Station, which was ideal as I didn't have a car. Tim is great to chat to and was incredibly helpful, making sure I knew where to go for work etc. I'll definitely stay there if I'm back in the area again!

  • Everything was immaculate! I couldn't get over how convent it was to the Caltrain station. It made traveling via public transportation so easy. Tim was very informative and the perfect host.

  • My stay with Tim was so pleasant I kept calling his place "home." Home is centrally located between San Jose and San Francisco. While it is nicely tucked away in a quiet neighborhood there are a plethora of eateries and entertainment choices within walking distance. Tim graciously offers guests everything needed for a comfortable stay from extra blankets for the super soft and comfy bed, towels, space in his kitchen cabinets and fridge to a bowl of fruit if you would like a quick snack. I enjoyed having breakfast on his deck while admiring the lovely garden. He was even kind enough to listen to me ramble on about my day after work. I hope "my" room is available the next time I'm in Belmont!

  • He is a really nice guy. The house is really nice, and it is very close to the downtown San Carlos. It is very quiet place and you have a nice sleep. If you need any help just turn to Tim. And it's is very easy to park your car too.

  • Great host, the house is really comfortable, rooms are private and cozy. Location is great if you have to move around the Bay Area.

  • Tim is the nicest guy ever. I now consider him as more of a friend than a host. He's been very accommodating, very thoughtful and I felt right at home staying at Tim's. I really enjoy the great conversation with Tim and the other guest, Deb.

I had to travel to Chicago on a 6am flight and arrive back on a very late night flight. Tim was very kind to get up at 4.30am and stay up late just to make sure that I don't sweat about arranging last minute taxi rides.

My room is spacious, neat and great sun light flows in throughout the day. Plenty of power plugs for people with loads of gadgets to charge up. Massive wardrobe with dirty laundry basket all ready to go and stored away. Nice bed and pillows. Bathroom was very well stocked up with anything that you might need. Hair dryer is like a luxury for me. :) kitchen/dining is super tidy and clean, with fruits and yogurt stocked up, that was a big plus as I didn't have time to buy things myself.

Tim's place is so walkable to everywhere and are only about 5 to 10 minutes walk away in a nice neighbourhood. Locals love this area and rate San Carlos as one of the most desirable place to buy/settle. Great wifi and broadband speed as I was testing a new prototype system while running webex call at the same time for a day from home, it was great.

For those without cars, Caltrain is 10 minutes away. Redwood City shuttles back and forth for FREE during peak commuting hours. Love the Vietnamese food around the corner, there a 7/11 there too, or you can just walk up to Laurel Streets (you name it they have it there).

Ultimately, great place to be and best person to meet. Tim is very easy going, fun and informative...He respects privacy at the same time cares about your experience.

We've had great time going out for dinner and coffee... I'm sure we'll be doing more of that.

Thanks Tim, you'(email hidden) and stay in touch ;)

About
Fun-loving guy, into travel, conversation, animals, cycling, good food and wine. I've hosted guests from all over the world on Airbnb, six continents and 28 nations: techies hoping to make their millions in Silicon Valley and tourists too. I cook a little, especially on the grill and I love fish and pasta. I get regular deliveries of organic veggies and fruits. Enjoy! Hobbies include cycling, running, hiking, bird watching, travel, gardening and ocean diving. You should have a profile and picture to stay here. Tell me something about YOU...are you traveling for fun or business? Do you plan to be in my house working all day on the computer or getting up in the morning and exploring the Bay Area or heading for the office? Afterall, this is my house and I need to know a little something about you. Cheers Tim
