Discover the real Amsterdam! Blend in with the locals! Situated within 5 minutes walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station and in that most beautiful and typical of Amsterdam neighborhoods, De Jordaan, lies a cosy and romantic houseboat. Around the corner of the Noorderkerk, famous for its markets (ecological market on saturday, vintage market on monday), the Haarlemmerdijk (voted nicest shopping street of 2011) and the Westerpark (beautiful park with restaurants and cafes), you can stay here for a bargain to discover a less touristy Amsterdam. Immerse yourself in the city life and find peace in the houseboat. We renovated this monumental sloop with love and its perfect for a couple.

Simone's charming houseboat gave us the perfect conclusion to our time in the Netherlands. It's such a romantic and cosy space! We loved watching boats passing and light shimmering on the water from the comfort of our own dinner table. The boat is old but that's what gives it its rustic, beautiful charm. The location is unbeatable - steps from all the best that the neighborhood has to offer. Simone is a delightful host - helpful and generous. I hope I will have the good fortune of meeting lovely Simone and her boat again one day!
Simone is so lovely and so helpful and the houseboat is absolutely delightful. We loved every second of staying there. The most perfect way to celebrate a 60th birthday
Simone was a wonderful host and very accommodating. Her house boat was beautiful, full of personality in a wonderful location to explore Amsterdam. I would definitely recommend and stay again :)
We had a very relaxing stay on Simone's boat this Easter. It was based in a lovely part of Amsterdam within easy reach of the train station, 9 streets and the parks etc. Simone was very friendly and gave us an explanation of how everything worked and also the best places to go before leaving us to it. The boat itself was characterful and very unique. The bed was comfy and the facilities were good- the boat was equipped with everything we needed. The street to the North had plenty to offer with lovely bakeries and shops within 2 minutes walk. I would recommend hiring a bike and taking a free ferry across the water to explore the Waterland for a day. Beautiful! A lovely holiday!
Simone was very welcoming and provided us with a map and recommendations which we found very useful. She also left some wine and chocolates which was a kind gesture.
The atmosphere on the boat is really rustic and has its own charm. We thought the decorations were really nice. The bed was very comfortable which was certainly a positive after lots of sightseeing! The heater (a gas heater) was also extremely effective at keeping the whole boat warm.
The location was fantastic, within easy reach of Amsterdam Centraal and a multitude of public transport links. Furthermore, it is within easy reach of the Jordaan area of Amsterdam which provides a slightly more authentic feel to Amsterdam.
We found the bathroom/toilet facility on the houseboat rather basic. The toilet is slightly inaccessible given that there is little room for movement, and it is on a raised platform given that the houseboat does not have sewerage. The shower does take a while to drain as well, and is slightly weak. However, we found a way of working round these issues and enjoyed our stay.
Unfortunately we had an incident with the key/lock. On our first night, the key broke in the lock, which meant that we had to find alternative accommodation for that night. However Simone was very helpful in calling a locksmith and arranging for repairs the next morning. She was very kind in offering a refund for that night's stay.
Overall we had a fantastic time and we would like to thank Simone for everything.
Living in the boat has been one of the most beautiful experience i had in my life! You really feel at home and in such a cozy and warm nest! I loved it and I also loved the footprint that simone has left in it! She has been great to welcome us and to let us know everything about what to do and to see around! A magic experience, i really recommend it!
