  • What can I say?! :) We had a great time staying at Raewyn and Charlie's. They're great hosts and nice, loving people. The cottage itself is nice. It's not big but, actually, with the direct outside area visible on the pictures and, also, the rest of the huge garden and the separate kitchen/dining area, it's fine. We stayed a month here and could have stayed longer.

The swimming-pool, the pool table and the garden setting (little geckos everywhere!) make for a really nice place. We'll definitely come again if we've got the chance.

  • Charlie and Raewyn are home from home. The accommodation is clean, spacious, set in a gorgeous, peaceful garden with a refreshing pool. It is such a relief after long, hot days in Bangkok to get 'home', where you don't really feel like you are in a city at all.
C and R are so helpful, and welcoming, they are born hosts and it really shows that they love their work. They were really helpful with us, offering lifts, sorting out shipping, helping with storage, laying on food and get togethers for the guests.
I really couldn't recommend them high enough - if you are looking for affordable, peaceful, welcoming accommodation in spitting distance of Bangkok city then look no further - home awaits you!

  • Raewyn and hẻr husband Charlie have been helpful and good fun. Charlie even decorated hís windmill with lights for Christmas. The garden where the cottages are situated ís lovely. With squirrels and all. It ís a bit òf way from the center of the city but then again you appreciate the calm when you come back to the garden.

  • Since I should keep this place secret from the world I should write the worst possible review I could imagine, but my conscience will not allow me to say anything negative. Our host were extremely gracious and our accommodations were excellent. There property is a perfect slice of paradise just outside of downtown Bangkok. We really had to push ourselves to leave it and go explore the sights of the city. We originally booked for 1 week and extended our stay for another 1 1/2 weeks and will book it again for the month of March. Finding this place was the best possible luck in all of our travels. I have never said, "thank you for letting me stay here, it has been a real privilege" before but, " THANK YOU FOR LETTING US STAY HERE". Not only has it been a privilege but it has been a honor to know you.

  • Good little retreat from the hectic city of Bangkok. Raewyn and Charlie were great hosts and the resort seems to be a nice little oasis when you don't want so much Bangkok in your life. It's a bit uncomfortable to get in and out of the city, but once you get the hang of the buses it's not so bad. The hospitality can't be beat and our hosts were more than willing to help us with anything. Great WIFI, access to the kitchen area, and a great pool to hang out by if you're just passing the time. Pretty close to the market and the pier if you want to take a canal ride into the centre of "old Bangkok". Inside the gates, everything is nice and clean and full of nature. The bungalows have hot water and are a comfortable place to just be, especially in the rainy season. Maybe the only negative is the location itself, which is off the beaten path and seems a bit dodgy at first until you're accustomed to it. There are a fair amount of stray dogs in the area thanks to the temple near the resort, and the canal outside isn't the prettiest thing to look at, but it really is no fault of the place. Just unfortunate surroundings. But I guess that's Bangkok... Overall, highly recommended. Thanks again for the great Thai food on the last day and for helping me celebrate my birthday in style. All the best in the future.

  • If you really begin to understand the various souls of this amazing city, you need stop at least a week.I have long soughtin, in all Bangkok there is no best basis of this beautiful residence. Best than any my expectation.

You will live in a tropical garden, cared with love, with mango trees that you can pick and eat, sweet and fragrant, flowers, streams, squirrels by day and fireflies at night, surrounded by the typical calls of the jungle, that will you feel like on an island instead of a few kilometers from the center of a modern megalopolis.

Raewyn is an extraordinary woman, organized, able to welcome you into her home, offering all the kindness and support you need, with assistance from her wonderful thai family, discreet, available, always ready to try to make your stay more pleasant comfortable as is possible.

I settle into a comfortable bungalow in the garden of her house, fully furnished and equipped, with screens on the windows and doors, air conditioning, fan, refrigerator, spacious bathroom with hot water, microwave, kettle, dishes and cutlery, although in Actually you will use them a little, because there is a large covered patio in typical Thai style wood with a large kitchen like a restaurant, where you will find everything you need to cook and relax in comfortable armchairs refreshed during the hottest hours of large, distributed ceiling fans.

Nothing is left to chance, when you return in the evening the lights come on by themselves to illuminate the path along the garden that takes you to your bungalow. There is a nice pool, great, you can swim, always clean, with shower and sundeck and a fitness area with a fan to help you start your day in the best way. The problem is that you feel like not to go out from this paradise and enjoy plenty of relaxation, so much beauty and so much comfort.

Transport: Located between Bang Sue and Nonthamburi this is not so far from the center of Bangkok as it might seem from the map. A few steps from the house along Soi 43, walking near to the enchanting temple Wat Liab will arrive in three minutes on the large artery the "Krungthep-Nonthaburi", that connects Bangkok to Nonthamburi, (than worth a visit). Just arrived in the street is the stop for bus there are many lines that take you directly to some tens of minutes with air-conditioning in the heart of Bangkok, the underground's stop and the sky train's stop, or in the opposite direction in the center of Nonthamburi or at the "pier" of the public transport service of the Chao Phraya River which I consider to be the best and most charming way to travel in Bangkok. On the right there is also a station taxy scooter for 30 baht (€ 0.50) can take you in a moment to the pier or to the MRT station of connected to the rest of the Bangkok's fast transport network.

  • Raewyn was a great host, very accommodating and helpful. She was always around to answer our questions about the Guesthosue or Bangkok in general, including how to get around. The location is on the outskirts of the city but is easily accessible by bus, or taxi if you prefer. The grounds are very well maintained and the facilities are excellent, especially the pool. Our overall experience there was very relaxing. I'd recommend the Guesthouse to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Bangkok.
