*** This room has a private office, Great view of the street and Estadio Metro station - Bathroom is shared with one other.
Rent a private room in the best location in all of Medellin, located directly on the Metro (Subway - Public Transportation 1600 Pesos) line, just steps away from Estadio Station and Stadium, 9 Olympic Swimming Pools, Gymnasium, Free Aerobics, Soccer/Football Fields and constant events and entertainment. this is literally the most desirable area in all of Medellin, clean, safe, full of energy, and with an authentically Colombian atmosphere (which, as a heads up, you will not find in the overly westernized Poblado district). In this city location is everything. you can walk around the corner to "la 70" (one of the best streets in Medellin), and hang out at one of the many diners, bakeries, and bars at any hour of the day or night. If you're looking for spanish classes the beautiful UPB university is right down the street and offers one of the best spanish courses in the city. everything's at your doorstep.
The apartment itself is open concept and very spacious, modern decor and gets plenty of light from all directions, there is a fresh breeze that blows through the apartment from one side to the other when windows are opened, and the temperature is almost always perfect. most importantly, it feels like a home away from home for anyone who chooses to stay, which is difficult to come by when searching for accommodations. fresh, clean and elegant.
The kitchen is fully loaded with Stove, Oven, Fridge, plenty of storage space and all necessary cooking supplies. You will also be within walking distance to several supermarkets and so doing groceries is painless and without the need for taxis (believe me, if you're in the city for more than a week, you'll come to really appreciate this!)
There is a Laundry Machine available for use, which will save you a lot of time and money with Laundry mats.
-HOT WATER showers.
All areas are cleaned regularly and well maintained throughout the stay :)
There is WIFI all throughout the house, on the fastest TELMEX Cable Modem connection available in Medellin, which is another VERY important consideration, seeing that there are often very poor internet connections in many of the available apartments or hostels in town.
There is Digital Cable TV with over 100 channels (English / Spanish) on the 42 inch LCD TV in the living room, also a local phone line to call any other landline in the city.
The Beds are brand new, double or larger, and very comfortable
The apartment is basically a good mix for anyone who's looking for a more private and laid back spot, where they can feel like they have their own space and environment, can work or relax, yet at the same time be close to the energy and attractions of the city. the energy here at Estadio is young, but respectful, and lets you really get a feel for what it's like to live in thriving colombian city
*I personally have been living in Medellin for almost a year now, and started out my adventure in Parque Lleras/Pablado, and although it was modern and busy, I quickly found that it was missing the charm and friendly charisma that I'd encountered in the northern coast of Colombia...to be honest, it felt "stuck up", and almost awkward to be a stereotypical "gringo" there... which was a complete surprise. I started looking for apartments in other areas, and moved to Laureles, and started to feel like I was actually in Colombia again, but I also found that Laureles was a little too quiet and filled with the older generation of retirees. So upon returning from a quick trip back to Canada, I started searching again for the right spot in Medellin, I needed an apartment for my girlfriend (who happens to be from Medellin) and I, and a few friends, and after walking the streets of the more promising areas for almost a month on end, I landed upon this apartment in Estadio. I've started traveling again, and therefore the apartment has since been converted to a rental apartment, however it still remains the perfect spot that I was looking for all those months ago!
Don't miss out on the real colombia and end up on the same TOURIST trail that most people end up on in Parque Lleras/Poblado, especially if you don't have the time to find out the hard way :P. either way, welcome to Medellin, you're gonna LOVE IT!
***** this area is beautiful and lively, therefore recommended for those who enjoy the energy of the city
We LOVED staying at Keenan's. It's in such a great spot in the city. The metro is literally across the street and makes it so you can access everything in a blink. The neighborhood is so lively with great places to eat and feels a lot more like experiencing the city from the eyes of a resident than the district of Poblado while still feeling 100% safe - and - you can get to Poblado in a short ride on the metro but if we came back we would stay here! The apartment itself is clean and really comfortable just as it appears. Keenan met us the first day and we went and had lunch with he and his girlfriend and that was great because they gave us a great lowdown on the whole city. Not sure if he does this every time but for us it was perfect. Thanks Keenan!!!!
This was a great place to stay. Convenient location, nice room. There was a little confusion with the reservation but no big deal. Keenan was great and we'll definitely be staying here again.
I really liked staying in the apartment. Has a nice living room area where you can relax. Originally I was put in the front bedroom which was really nice. However, on certain nights, the music from the main road (one street over) is really loud (not sure why or why neighbors don't complain). There was a smaller room off the kitchen that was open and Keenan let me sleep there instead and refunded me the difference in money. The apartment is across the street from a metro station which made it easy to take public transportation to other parts of the city. And it's one block away from a main street with restaurants and vendors. Very convenient.
The apartment is very nice and the location is excellent. Make sure you check out a futbol game if you stay in Medellin.
Keenan is a great host and he is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I had a great stay at Keenan's place. The apartment is very clean and modern and has everything you need. The WIFI worked great, I was able to do laundry any time I wanted, and my room had it's own private little office. It's located right across the street from the Estadio Metro station- traveling around the city couldn't be more convenient.
Keenan is great host, very laid back and ready to help with any questions or advice. A great guy to rent from. I would definitely stay here again. I checked out a number of places in Medellin, and this was easily one of the nicest apartments.
The room at Keenan's was great and exactly as advertised. The apartment was clean and in a great location. For me, the internet was very important and it did not fail me. Estadio is a great neighborhood with lots to see and do. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Apartment was nicely furnished and very modern. Gives you the comfort of a home away from home. Keenan is a great host and a real solid person.
Keenan is a terrific host. Location is optimal as it is directly across from one of Medellin's modern fast and efficient Metro stops (Estadio). Kitchen is modern and well equipped, common area is nicely appointed and an open air balcony is available. Taxis to the city center are always readily available right outside front door. A 15-20 minute taxi ride costs $4 USD. For overall value, this is the place. Location, location, location.
Kennan is very helpful and very friendly. I had a great stay at the location. It's a very convenient location next to the metro and next to a business strip. I would definitely stay again!
I was choosing between El Estadio and El Poblado and I am glad I decided to stay at Keenan's apartment near El Estadio. The location was great - across the road from the metro, central to everything, whether you want to go to Plaza Botero or explore El Poblado or decide to go north to Parque Arvi.
I enjoyed my stay a lot (but I am glad I got my ear plugs with me - they helped to fall asleep as the music from the nearby Calle 70 is loud!).
Keenan is a good host, - good communication, attention to requests and overall just nice to deal with. He even invited me to his Christmas dinner as I arrived on Christmas night!
Thank you, Keenan!
