Perched on a hilltop with a magnificent 360 degree vista of the Pacific Ocean, Catalina, Santa Barbara Island and the Santa Monica Mountains, spend the evening watching the sunset over Boney Mountain as it fades to black. The stars come out by the millions- and you watch for comets and satellites passing overhead from the comfy Adirondack chairs.
You retire to the comfortable restored interior of 'THE ALUMILODGE'- a 1957 AIRSTREAM 22 ft. FLYING CLOUD, and plug your iPod into the Bose Acoustimas sound system while opening a chilled bottle of local area wine you brought from the refrigerator. The dinette is set for a romantic dinner which you prepare in the onboard galley and gas stove. After another look at the Milky Way, you retire to the Queen size rear bed with quality linens and feather duvet- the fresh Pacific breeze lulling you to sleep in the silence broken only by the occasional owl 'hoot' or coyote howl in the distance. You awake to experience the sunrise with our French coffee press and another day in a paradise you can't imagine is so close, yet so far from Los Angeles.
The area also offers vineyard tours, wine tasting rooms, excellent restaurants, hiking/ biking the Backbone Trail, trail rides and even an 18 hole golf course all within minutes.
Pool (seasonally) and internet hot spot available to guests.

What a great experience! All features were exactly as described on the website, and the hosts were very accomodating. It was a beautiful property, and anyone looking for a secluded getaway in the LA area should check this out.
We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay here. When the GPS prompted us that we would be continuing our trek through the mountain for five miles, we had no idea what beautiful grandeur of a view would be lying ahead of us. My boyfriend and I were greeted by the beautiful horses and Rob! The airstream was comfy and we had fun being disconnected and soaking in nature's beauty that surrounded us. We hope to be back again soon and recommend to anyone!
Our night at Kay and Murray's airstream was perfect. It was chilly and a little rainy but that made the experience even better. Hearing the rain on the airstream was wonderful to fall asleep to and wrapping up in blankets watching the sunset was beautiful.
Such a great stay! Murray was very nice and greeted us kindly. The experience of staying in the airstream was awesome. It was exactly what was offered. My boyfriend and I had a great time getting away from the hustle and bustle of LA life. We will definitely be back!
Murray met us at the gate and guided us to the airstream. He was accompanied by his large, fluffy and adorable dogs. The airstream met our expectations because the listing, the photographs and the other reviews were very clear and accurate.
it is really an amazing place. our family spend a special Chinese new year eve.
Murray&Kay kindly provide a good service for us. we enjoy a beautiful sunset.
thanks to Murray&Kay.

My wife and I are Christian, semi-retired film industry people who thrive on adventure and meeting interesting people. Over the past 13 years I've restored several vintage Airstream trailers and consider them the ultimate in camping comfort. One of my restorations now actually resides in Japan!
We used to love to travel and camp in our 1957 'FLYING CLOUD' AIRSTREAM but now enjoy allowing others to share the experience without the hassle of driving, towing and fighting for a spot in a crowded and noisy campground. We live on a 20+ acre ranch property (with some overly friendly goats, dogs and horses) in the Santa Monica Mountains- surrounded by thousands of acres of open space and direct access to the famous Backbone Trail, which is renowned for hiking, horseback and mountain bike riding. We are also only 6 miles from the glorious beaches of Malibu. Our hilltop location is the perfect deluxe camping experience, with ocean views, and base to enjoy this unique mountain range and Mediterranean climate which occurs in only 6 places in the world.
