Joe and Vinita were excepcional hosts! They were available for questions and requests most of the time, which made me feel very comfortable throughout the stay.
This is a basement apartment, so don't expect much sunlight, which is ok if you are out during the day, which was my case. The bathroom is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Being in a house in a tree-lined residential street, it turned out that the place have some small insects, which I could handle with some poison. Toiletries, extra sheets and pillows were provided and could be cleaned by hosts periodically. Personally, the real only drawback of the apartment is not having a laundry machine set.
The house is close to College Street, which is house of tons of small local shops and restaurants, and where a street car can drive you pretty much everywhere, as Toronto transit system is well integrated. It is also within 20-25 min walk to the Subway, and considerably close to Queen Street West, recently considered by Vogue the 2nd coolest street worldwide!
Unfortunately I was never able to meet Joe and Vinita. Communication was good, they replied back within a day or two. There was a problem with the plumbing and they were able to get a plumber in the next day to temporarily fix the problem. They were also accommodating and let me check out late without any hassle.
For the price that I paid for, the space is reasonable especially for downtown Toronto. Facilities were adequate with complete kitchen set and appliances. Toiletries, extra sheets and pillows were also provided. Breakfast was also provided but I would have appreciated if the food wasn’t previously opened. However, upon my arrival there was a musty smell when entering the basement area. I was disappointed to find that the place wasn’t cleaned. Underneath the bed there were piles of dust that actually reached the bottom of the bed. The microwave also had stains from previous users. There were several bugs and I actually saw a mouse come out at night.
It’s a great location with walking access to public transportation, coin laundromats, tourist attractions and many restaurants. It was very convenient to go around and see the city of Toronto.
I stayed at Vinita and Joe's for seven weeks and it was just an amazing time! The apartment is very cute, you have everything you need! A coin laundry and a supermarket is very close, you can walk by foot. College Street has an amazing atmosphere at day and night. Kensington Market is also not that far away!
Joe and Vinita were super nice all the time and whenever I needed something they helped me and just gave me a good feeling!

Our house is a calming place to relax and as your hosts we endeavour to provide a healthy and clean environment: organic and natural products are used whenever possible. We enjoy travel and have been to the Caribbean, South Asia, East Africa, and Taiwan and China in the past few years.
You will find a wide range of books, music, magazines, toys and other fun stuff for you and your family to enjoy while home away from your home. We have two flat screen TV's; one connected to an Apple TV and the other to local cable.
We enjoy food + drink and take pleasure in having a wide assortment of spices, sauces and other ingredients to cook and bake with, as well as some nice glasses for you to use while enjoying some wine or a cocktail on our front veranda or beautiful outdoor living room in our garden.
