Enjoy privacy and comfort in a lovely bedroom with its own spacious bath. The space comfortably fits two and is centrally located in a charming residential neighborhood close to restaurants and coffee shops. Perfect for SXSW, F1, and visits to UT!
Comfortable, well-appointed bedroom with a spacious private bath in a lovely central neighborhood. This charming 1940s bungalow is minutes away from UT and downtown. Plus, you can walk two blocks to a bus stop that gets you anywhere in central Austin, pronto.
As for food, you'll be minutes (by foot) away from some of Austin's most popular breakfast spots and coffee shops, not to mention the well-known restaurants along Manor Rd. (Salty Sow, East Side Cafe, El Chile, Hoover's, Mi Madre, Vivo's, and more). Whether you're in the mood for a classic breakfast taco or have a hankering for more upscale fare, the perfect culinary solution is within easy reach.
As for the room itself, you'll have a comfy double bed and a great built-in closet off the bathroom. There's wifi, and you'll be welcome to use the fridge, toaster, coffee pot and microwave.
This is a truly comfortable house in a quiet, leafy, residential neighborhood you'll love coming home to. I'm committed to ensuring your stay in Austin is memorable, hassle-free, and utterly enjoyable.
Note: the house has a somewhat ubiquitous cat. Naturally I find him exceptionally delightful, and if you like cats, you will too. Those with cat allergies might, however, wish to look elsewhere.
Coincidentally, my next guest was also a Brazilian, and she provided the following translation from the Portughese:
Nancy was a very thoughtful hostess. She received us with all of her attention. On January 1 we were staying with her and she made us a delicious lunch so we would have a lucky year (black-eyed peas). Every time we needed anything Nancy was very thoughtful.
I enjoyed every single minute of my stay with Nancy! Nancy was very caring to make my stay as comfortable as possible. She picked me up, provided me with my preferred breakfast, got me "German" bread, helped me planning my trip through texas and so much more!
The room and the bathroom are just lovely and very neat. The neighborhood is very nice and offers a lot of good restaurants and it is very close to UT.
I wished I could have stayed longer! Thank you, Nancy, for a really enjoyable time!
My stay at Nancy's home was delightful; the room was exactly as pictured, the bed very comfortable, and from the moment I walked through the front door, I felt very welcome. Her location was perfect for me as I was just five minutes from my business appointments. If I'm ever back in Austin, this will be the place I'll look forward to stay in once again.
Nancy was such a sweet woman to have her home open to us. The house was cute and warm, just like a typical 1940's style bungalow in Austin, TX. My husband and I loved staying there. She was so kind to offer us breakfast items, which we did enjoy cooking in her sweet kitchen. We were welcomed to warm arms, like coming to an old friend's home. We would definitely recommend anyone going to Austin, to stay with her. If we head back to Austin, in the future, we will be sure to stay with her again!
Staying with Nancy was just like staying with one of my family members. I really felt like her house was my home away from home. Her place is about 15 minute walk away from the UT campus, but it is also only a few steps away from the bus station (bus 20). The room was spacious and light. The bathroom was at all times supplied with everything I needed. And both room and bathroom were cleaned once every two weeks.
Nancy is a very kind person and I enjoyed getting to know her. After my first week living in her house, I was already thinking of her as my friend rather than a landlord.
All in all, if you are visiting Austin, staying at her place should be your first choice.
Staying with Nancy was a perfect Airbnb experience. She was gracious, warm, attentive, and welcoming - she even drove me to and from the airport! Her cat Stewie is adorable and so was her home and the rest of the neighborhood. The room is just like the photos, nicely private and quiet. My pals in Austin were very jealous of my proximity to El Chilito, which became my daily breakfast taco spot. All of the downtown go-to spots were just a sunny walk or bike ride away. This was an A+++ listing.
I stayed here for 4 weeks. The room was great and having an ensuite bathroom is a big plus. The neighborhood is very nice: it feels small and tucked away, yet it's so close to so many things. Nancy was a wonderful host and made me feel at home. She had all kinds of snacks and also toiletries available upon my arrival and set me up with breakfast. She was very hospitable and it was nice talking with her when I was around.
I'm a lifelong writer who's lived in Austin since 1978. I was a freelance business and marketing writer for more than a decade and have written for various local publications. I also worked as a technical writer and editor at IBM. I like to think I know Austin and its quirks, and am fairly up to date on late-breaking developments. My neighborhood is one of the most sought-after close-in 'hoods in the city. I belong to an accomplished writing group (working on a novel), enjoy going to galleries, museums, and restaurants, and am a movie afficianado from way back. I enjoy helping my guests determine how best to explore this great city.
