About this listing
A quaint and modern 100 year old home with a spare bedroom that totally beats a hotel stay any day of the week.
You'll be close to some of the best places to be in Toronto and you'll have a clean and comfortable place to lay your head.
This is a two-storey home with two useable bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and bright living and dining rooms.
The house is a quick 10 minute walk from the Ossington subway station and there is a 24hr bus that runs along Ossington.
Guests can book a bedroom and have access to the whole house.
The Parking Situation:
Street parking (out front) is free during the day, but you need a permit from 12am - 7am. Permits are approx. $10 for a night (24hr) or $15 for 2 nights (48hr).
Free overnight (12am - 7am) parking is available very close by, but you have to be sure to move your car from there at 7am on weekdays.
Interaction with Guests
I make an effort to be around and will certainly offer advice and recommendations on how best to enjoy Toronto.
There aren't too many rules.
1. make sure nobody and nothing gets hurt
2. keep the place as clean and tidy as you found it
Alex is an excellent host, very accommodating, helpful, friendly, and easy-going. He is a wealth of information, offering tips on all things Toronto, traveling, tech stuff, homeowning...you name it. The house is beautiful, lovingly renovated - a great kitchen with everything you need to cook a good meal, light-filled dining room, a living room with great couch and tv, good wifi, two full bathrooms, laundry and an extra toilet in the basement. The room is bright and spacious, with closet space and two empty dressers and a comfortable medium-firm bed. The forced air system keeps the house cool and well ventilated during the summer. There is plenty of street parking, and we didn't mind getting up at 7am to re-park the car in the morning. The house is in a very central Toronto location. We were very comfortable here, and enjoyed great conversation over a glass of wine and dinner with Alex. We feel like we've made a new friend. Highly recommended!
Alex was a great host, he provided us with the services we needed for the night: a clean bed to sleep in and a safe place to store our things while we were out and about. Alex was also very flexible and accommodating with our arrival time.
We first experienced AirBnB at Alex's house, and we had a perfect stay at his place. Alex is one of these hosts anyone would like to meet: welcoming, available and full of good advices to discover the city. Not only his room is cosy and clean, but he also knows how to make you feel comfortable. He is a great cook, so if you like quality food, you're at the right place! He really helped us while we were trying to settle in Toronto, and we are really thankful for that. We strongly recommend this host, no matter how long you're planning to stay! You will have fun as much as serious conversations: he's open-minded, easy going and really friendly. We will keep in touch with him for sure! Moreover, his place is really close to downtown and all kind of amenities, in an enjoyable neighborhood called Dovercourt Village.
About the Host, Alex
My motivation in life usually boils down to good food, good drink and good company. As long as I have at least one of those things life isn't so bad. Most of my travelling is in pursuit of a change of scenery and to experience the things I enjoy in life a little differently.
I have travelled a lot and I have also lived abroad. Very soon I plan on once again wandering around and seeing new things.
J'aime bien manger, bien boire et bien discuter. Tant qu'il y est au moins un de ces éléments, tout va bien. Je voyage pour me dépaysé et pour apprécier ce que j'aime ailleurs et différemment.
