About this listing
On the Giudecca canal with an amazing view of all of Venice, and just a 5 minute boat ride away from the Accademia art museum or San Marco Square, but away from the crazy tourist traps. The Giudecca Island is fun, full of art galleries, real Venetians, students and very expensive hotels...Stay here and enjoy Venice without having to wade through all the tourists! This apartment is ON THE MAIN CANAL, with amazing views, but quiet inside.
Shared bathroom, large sunny bedroom, and shared kitchen, library sitting room and formal salon music room with a 17th century organ and several other keyboard instruments. This elegantly furnished apartment feels like you are living like Vivaldi was, only with model amenities.
Palanca and Rendentore boat stops are 1 minute walk away.
Julia was wonderful, she made me feel very welcome and the room was better than described. I highly recommend staying here. The location is ideal 2 mins form the public waterbus and 10 mins from the Cipriani.
Julia was very sweet. Though we had a very short stay her home was lovely, the architecture was beautiful (built in 1916 I think). A quick five minute water bus from Piazza San Marco and a short walk and you're there. She was very accamodating and sweet . We would highly recommend her.
Julia is a very hospitable woman, she really invites you into her home & running household. The room is spacious and neat and nicely situated in the back of the appartment. The bathroom is basic and shared with Julia & her (small) family. The living room has a spectacular view over the water and Venice skyline. It is perfectly located, 2 min walk from a Vaporetta line to all major destinations, on a quiet quay with some small shops & local restaurants.
Julia was not at home when we arrived which was fine as it was difficult for us to estimate our exact time of arrival. The key was there for us and we were able to settle in our own pace.
Very convenient to Venice with a boat stop just a few meters away.
Good amenities right outside the door. Limited use of living areas of house as Julia frequently needs privacy. View is in the living room only, and no sign or mention of the grand piano so don't go there expecting to play it!
Shared bathroom fine, but shower needs fixing.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Julia in May, 2015. Her place in Giudecca looks out over the canal and has a stunning view of Venice, just one vaporetto stop away! Giudecca proved to be a great spot for us to explore and we took Julia's suggestion about a trattoria and breakfast place right outside her door - both were excellent. The bed was comfortable, the shower excellent, and the neighborhood quiet.
She has a three year old daughter which may not be comfortable for some guests who desire more privacy.
The only thing that would have made our arrival easier is a "Welcome Kit" telling us basics of the house such as which room was ours, how to access the wifi, and how to lock the door, as we had to contact her upon arrival with these basic questions.
It was my very first try on Airbnb and Julia is the first host who offers very considerate hospitality before the moment we arrives. We had communicated with every little detail in terms of arriving and key exchange and also luggage solutions, Julia was always helpful though she was not here in person within the entire trip.
The apartment located in extremely quite and also busy community where guests can easily enjoy the grand view of Venice the main island, and the shuttle water bus comes and go very frequent, it only requires extra water bus tickets if guests wanna hang out mainly in the center. Inside the apartment, guests can easily experience the very good taste of art and education from Julia and her little daughter, it was very cozy and local as a way to understand local culture.
We only had a very short stay with Julia's, but all in all it is a spectacular beginning of my Airbnb experience.
