Shlomit and her husband were very gracious hosts and the room was comfortable and quiet. The neighborhood is awesome with many stores and restaurants within a short walk. It's a short drive to the university area and it was fun to see so many folks walking in the shopping district. I would not hesitate to stay with Shlomit again.
I had a pleasant stay at Shlomit and Ben's house.
The place was kept clean and very cozy. My hosts were very well-prepared and had everything ready for me. Great location too - there is a shopping area within 3-minute walk. Bus stops are also close by.
I would stay again, and I recommend it for other visitors too.
Shlomit and Daniel were happy to give recommendations on the neighborhood. Very nice area. I felt safe as a single female traveler coming back at night on the bus. 24-hour restaurant (Eat'n Park) and drug store (Rite Aid) nearby. Giant Eagle grocery store around the corner, open 6am-1am. Lots of restaurants & cafes nearby. Easy 35 minute bus commute to my downtown convention. Room was private and cozy, with a private bathroom. Shlomit was always happy to chat, and made me feel welcome. Enjoyed my stay!
We had a very comfortable stay with Shlomit in Squirrel Hill of Pittsburgh. The location was great - easy to walk to a variety of local restaurants and grocery store - in a lovely neighborhood. Shlomit was quite welcoming from the moment we arrived. She was attentive and accommodating. The room is spacious with a desk and a large closet for our gear and a very nice private bathroom. The room also has access to a refrigerator and microwave. I highly recommend this room for your next stay in Pittsburgh.
They are a great sweet couple, the room is clean, area is safe, parking was right in the driveway, and although the living room was right above me - it was very quiet,
The neighborhood is that nice intown neighborhood sort with little places to shop and eat. I came for a conference at Carnegie Mellon and walked (30 minutes) to the campus, unless I stopped for coffee on the way over and back.
It is though a small room, in a basement (note the tiny window in the picture), and its seems they are slowly finishing up the rest of basement. So its not a place to really hang out. But having said that they have a pleasant small front porch and will be happy if you spend a little with them in the living room or kitchen.
Arrived at shlomit's around 10pm and she waited up to show us around. The house was wonderful, and very clean. Had all the privacy we needed. Nice bath/shower in the hallway. I left the light on in my car all night and her husband came and gave me a jumpstart in the morning . Wonderful people, wonderful neighborhood. Hope to stay next visit!!
