Kazuki is a wonderful and thoughtful host. We enjoyed staying there very much. After 10 days of hotels in various cities, we truly appreciated the traditional decor and living. It was a great glimpse into living in Tokyo. The Skytree is a short walk away and lots of food, shopping the subway are all there. You couldn't ask for anything more.
If Kazuki and Aiko's home is the first place that you stay in Tokyo, you won't immediately realize how spoiled you are :). My friends and I stayed in their home for a few days when we visited Tokyo. When we later moved on to other cities and stayed elsewhere, we realized that glorious features like heated toilet seats don't show up in normal homes haha.
Really though, the most important 'feature' was their hospitability. For instance, we needed a taxi for 3:30 in the morning when we wanted to visit tsukiji market (sushi!), and they called the taxi company and made the reservation for us. We really appreciated things like this.
Thanks Kazuki and Aiko!
We stayed at Kazuki and Aiko's place over the New Year and it was fantastic~! I loved the house and there are many convenience stores, as well as eateries in the area. It was great to walk past the Tokyo Skytree everyday during our stay too~! We are glad that we finally got to meet Kazuki and Aiko in the last two days of our visit, and we only wished it was longer ^^ いろいろありがとう～～またよろしくね～～＾＾ノ
Kazuko and Aiko have a wonderful house and are two of the nicest people you will meet in Japan. They have a wonderful home in Sumida near the Skytree Tower that is both convenient and isolated at the same time. It was wonderful to come home after a day of adventure and walk home a few blocks from the train in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Both Aiko and Kazuki speak english very well, and we had many enjoyable conversations above and beyond their helping us with our stay. Being in their home made me feel like a local, and that is absolutely the best way to travel.
I have stayed (and enjoyed) in Shibuya in the past, but being able to get out of the fast pace every evening, definitely recharges you for the next day. Their home is 15-40 minutes from anywhere you would want to visit in Tokyo. They are a few minutes walk from the Skytree and its mall which has numerous excellent food options (check out food courts upstairs.) We never had time to see the view from the tower, but we did visit the small yet exquisite aquarium on the 5th floor, which my 9 and 13 year olds loved.
Even though both Kazuki and Aiko work tremendously long and hard hours, they both managed to make time to spend with us. We treated each other to two lovely dinners which were so much fun. They were also so very caring of our two boys and when our youngest had a severe allergic reaction to bug bites, they used their pharmaceutical backgrounds to help us through a little crisis.
All four of us had a great and comfortable time here. We already our missing our stay after a few days home in NYC! We are looking forward to their NYC visit which we hope is just around the corner!
Choosing to stay at the lovely Maeda residence was the best decision we made in our trip to Tokyo. They are very hospitable & pleasant hosts and it helped a lot that they're good conversant in English. They were concerned we may not have been able to rest well during our stay, but we truly had no problem as our tatami rooms are quite cozy and afforded us restful sleep. We were just so sorry to have caused them inconvenience when we unwittingly double locked the main door one evening.
We so enjoyed our homestay experience in their traditional Japanese house, which is in a convenient location with easy access to the subway, the new Solamachi mall & the magnificent Skytree. Staying at their house is highly recommended for travelers like us wanting an authentic local living experience.
The nice uchiwa & sensu souvenirs along with some Japanese snack Kazuki & Aiko gave us to bring home was such a thoughtful & sweet gesture! Looking forward to seeing them again in Tokyo or in Manila.
Aiko and Kazuki are great hosts : very friendly and welcoming. We felt immediately like home. We had a very nice stay in Tokyo as it is very conveniently located, close to a main train station : Oshiage. Worth of note : this station is connected to Narita Airport with a direct train, (50mn ride) making it a perfect location for international travelers. I strongly recommend Kazuki's house for parties from 2 to 4 persons wanting a warm welcome. My only regret : not staying longer!
The Kazuki family is a very nice host. They were very helpful on informing us nearby places to eat and even shared (website hidden) maps! All of the responses to my questions were attended very fast and they speak English.
The rooms are spacious for a Japanese house and the house is very clean! They even let us washed our clothes. So helpful as we traveled to few different cities before Tokyo, hence, many dirty clothes.
Thanks for having me and friends stay at your place!
Thank you to Kazuki and Aiko.
We have spent fanatstiques times. They recommended us best places in Tokyo: where visiting the city, restaurants, karaoke, temples .... Without theirs help, and theirs disponiblitée, the city of Tokyo would be for us a great mistere? Thank you very much, I hope to see you again very soon

Kazuki and Aiko are lovely hosts and their house is an authentic slice of Japan - with tatami floors, sliding doors and screens and beautiful timber windows. It's an easy walk to the subway and the Skytree (which has an amazing mall at the base). Our stay was short but very comfortable - we would have liked to have spent more time here.
What a great place to stay for my first time in Japan! The host Kazuki and Aiko were very hospitable and we could have not asked for better hosts. Before arriving they were very available for questions and directions with Kazuki and Aiko made it a breeze to find the place. They are very friendly and speak great English. The location of this place is amazing and makes Japan very accessible. Very clean place and very cozy! Would recommend to friends, family, and pretty much anyone that needs a place to stay in Japan.
