The Space

In a very peaceful and wealthy area, not far from the center, I rent a very nice room (14 sqm) with two single joined beds, AC, Wi-fi, a big private bathroom and balcony.
A free map of Rome with indications on pubblic trasport and guiding books are in the room.

Included in the price are clean linen, towels and breakfast with pure italian coffee, a selection of teas, milk, yoghurt, toasted bread, jam and eggs.

You can also find warm and crispy pizza and lovely cakes just around the corner, and also fresh fruits and vegies every morning coming from the surroundings and sold in a daily market nearby. I would also recommend a very well known restaurant run from a family of Rome (which is just a pearl!), and one of the best ice cream artisanal laboratory in Rome selling 6 different types of chocolate (with a little book crossing corner)!!

The room and the whole apartment are light and very well refurbished, located at the 4th floor of a 60's building without lift.
To be honest, the outside of the building may need to be restored, but the apartment was completely renewed in 2009 and all the surroundings are very well kept.

The neighborhood in early 20th Century was a holiday area for very rich people of Rome. Now you find charming villas together with 50's and 60's building in a special atmosphere that make this aerea very desirable.
The name "Città Giardino" (Garden City) should give you the sense and the colour of this special atmosphere... whereas the sounds are mainly coming from little birds...

The apartment is well connected by bus ( 90,90D, 60 express, 84, 86) with the center and the Metro A (1,5 euro ticket )
In about 25 mins you can reach the heart of Rome: Piazza Venezia (60bus, 12 stops, every 6 mins) and the Coliseum (14 stops)
In aproximately 20 minute you can reach "Termini" railway station (90 or 60L bus, 12 stops, every 7 mins) in normal trafic conditions.
The railway station "Nomentano", at 4 bus stops (84), connects you directly with Fiumicino Airport.
From Termini Station, Terravision buses go to Ciampino Airport every 20 mins.
From Mila's Home it is very easy to reach "La Sapienza" and LUISS Universities.

I used to travel a lot and I really love to meet people from other countries.
I also worked for a long time in tourism, so feel comfortable to ask me any question or information, I'll be happy to answer you and to be helpful even for what concerns your staying in Rome.
I can speak English, French, Italian and just a little of Spanish.

All the expenses and final cleanings are included in the price

1) "Leonardo Express" train to Termini railway station in aproximately (40 minutes-14 euros). On the right side of the square en front at Termini station you find 90 or 90 D or 60L express busses at their terminal ( 12 stops, every 7 mins- 1,5 euro). Get off at "Piazza Sempione". I may send you a small map showing the way from this last stop to home. On 60L there is an automatic voice that advice for the stop "Maiella/Sempione", on 90 you have to ask someone on the bus where to get off.
2) Instead of this expensive train you can take a Terravision Bus to Termini Station, 55 mins, 4 euros ticket that can be booked on line and than 90 or 90D or 60 L bus etc.

There many shuttle busses to Termini station. Terravision busses leaves Ciampino Airport every 20 mins and it can be booked online.
From Termini take 90 or 90D or 60L express busses ( 12 stops, every 7 mins- 1 euro) that you find at their terminal. Get off at "Piazza Sempione". I may send you a little map showing the way from this last stop to home. On 60L there is an automatic voice that advice for the stop "Maiella/Sempione", on 90 you have to ask someone on the bus where to get off.

  • We had a great experience staying with Mila. She was very accommodating to us, and her hospitality really made our trip to Rome more enjoyable. Her apartment was a great place to settle in after a long day of sightseeing. We highly recommend staying with Mila if you are planning a visit to Rome.

  • We had a nice stay in Mila's apartment. Great bed, wonderful location, & a convenient starting point to explore Rome. Mila was very quick on answering our questions and helping us with directions. One of our favorite parts of Rome was the neighborhood that Mila suggested we go to (Monti instead of Trastevere); it was less touristy and just a lovely area to walk around. Thanks for everything Mila!

  • Mila welcomed us very warmly on Saturday morning and gave us useful information, since we just stay 2 days in Rom and do not want to waste time.
The accomadation is 20 min. away from the busy city centre. It was a good balance after an exhausting Sightseeing trip! I deeply can recommend Mila's home!

  • It was a pleasure to meet Mila and stay at her home. Mila's place is beautiful, quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing after a busy day in Rome. We had a lot of success using the metro for transportation into the city from Mila's home. But, there is also several bus stops near Mila's home to get into the city. Thank you, Mila, for making our stay so enjoyable. I am thankful to have met you.

  • Mila is an absolutely lovely host. Her apt is about a 30 min bus ride to city center. The area around her apt is not touristy at all but there are many businesses and restaurants around. Be prepared--many people do not speak English!

  • We had great time staying 2 nights at Mila's house. She is a very kind and helpful person. We were happy to stay in this area of Rome wich is a little bit far from center but also very well connected with the bus (15 miniutes) We could visit everything we wanted downtown then in the evening come back to a nice, quite part of Rome.
This area is very local, no many tourist are there so we enjoyed just walking through lovely streets with beautiful villas and gardens, taking coffee in local bars or try delicious food at the restaurant that Mila recommand. And the best thing was a local market with wondreful fruits and vegetables and most important people living near by. They were very friendly and helpful when we could not communicate in Italian. So great experience!!! And the bakery is just perfect! We could cook at Mila's place and we felt really confortable. Everything was very clean and well decorated. Lovely place to enjoy Rome. Thank you again!

  • Mila's place was a great deal and the space was exactly as advertised. The apartment was well connected by public transit. The transit buses were often very crowded and the commute from downtown was longer than I would have liked, but the distance from downtown was not a surprise given the price and Mila's official description. In short, Mila was a kind host and her place was exactly as advertised. If you don't mind staying a little out of downtown, then I would highly recommend Mila's.

  • Our overall experience at Mila's home was fantastic! She was very helpful with directions, maps and recommendations for restaurants in the area. Very short walk to the bus with about a 20 minute bus ride into the heart of Rome. Parking our car was free and safe and neighborhood felt very safe. We really enjoyed our time at Mila's home and would stay again if we could!

I was born in Rome and I lived almost all my life in this city. I like to play music, I love books, cinema, photography, Theatre , ballet... all Arts in general! I love to travel and to know people coming from other countries, that's why I loved Airbnb from the very first moment!! I'm friendly, open-minded and sufficently good as a cook...apparently...
