  • We stood in venice for three nights after a stay in the veneto, in valdobbiadene. Since 18 years we travel one, two or some years three times a year to venice for a short stay.
The last years we prefered to live for this time close to via garibaldi or arsenale in the fact we love this part of venice.
For this the "grandiben" s situation is perfect.

But we couldn´t really enjoy our stay. First of all, this appartment was not clean. Settled dust on picture-frames – also on this one over the bed – or other things. Not a bit. A layer, you only can get in a longer time. The shower not really clean and a piece of wood inside, we wouldn´t like to go in.

The other thing is, that the pictures in airbnb showing a very bright, light-flooded apartment.
Many thanks to Photoshop - but the reality is indeed a different thing. It is – otherwise I think I would lie – more a very dark apartment.

Also airbnb describes it “completely renovated” – the question is: when? Colour is coming down from the wall in the bathroom and in the entrance. There is nothing that looks renovated the last 5 to 8 years.

The furniture in the apartment does not stand in any relation to the price (our opinion).
I had much cheaper apartments in Venice in the last 18 years, but never furniture like this. Sorry to say this in this way. But if you want have a look at your own.

The contact to the owners was good, everything what was agreed worked well. If you book I think you should know, that there is a housekeeper who cares about when you ar arriving. The owners did not live in venice and we can imagine, that they didn´t stay there for a longer time.

  • Very nice experience, perfect home for family or group of friends. The small terrace is nice for a drink before dinner. It is a town house in a urban area very close to the center, so don't expect it to be quiet.

  • A marvellous experience. There were three of us, two adults and a teenage daughter, but the apartment could easily accommodate six. For us it was ideal. It is an apartment to sleep (the beds were very comfortable) , go out and explore and use as a base to go out evening meals. The apartment is located near the port and there are plenty of resteraunts serving seafood and other local dishes.
The town centre is close by and there are buses (buy your tickets at the tobacconists) to and from the train station. We used it as a base to travel to Lucca, Florence, Cinque Terre and back and forward to Pisa. Also, close by in the pine forest is a location where bike hire is available. The area is vey bike friendly and it is possible to travel to the public beach to the south of the town or for the more ambitious a ride to Camaiore to the north of the town.
Potentially, for some it may appear noisy, but if you do not expect to here the sound of a vespa you should not travel to Italy. Magda and Massimo were very friendly and helpful. They met us and dropped us off at the station and provided lots of information about the region

  • My husband and I rented the Magda apartment because our parents and Aunt where coming to Florence while we were here. We loved the apartment! It is decorated nicely, the ceilings are high and beautiful and the apt. is spacious! The back bedroom is very quiet, great for my parents when recovering from jet lag.
the location of the apartment is fantastic if you want to be close to everything like we did! Lastly, my parents, Aunt and husband really liked Magda and Massimo! I didn't get to meet them, but they are great hosts who are very nice and want to make sure you have a wonderful experience at their apartment and in Florence.

Magda e Massimo Carli architects from Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy. (Viareggio is a very nice seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian coast..- Viareggio is very famous for its Carvival and its lovely sandy beaches.) Through the years we acquired a certain number of properties ( in Florence, Venice, Tuscan seaside-countryside, Ligurian countryside, lake Como),which we enjoyed renovating very much. They were all selected as vaction rentals- so we had an eye for location , character, comfort...hope we succeded creating lovely spaces and homes where the tourist actualluìy feels being in Italy and in that particular place. So the colours we used are different in Florence than in Venice, the town apartments have a totally different atmosphere from the seaside/countryside houses. We enjoy meeting our guests and giving them info about the area, and indicating unusual sights, local eateries, things that do not feature on the guidebooks. They normally appreciate that, and we often make friends.
