This is a quiet place.good for a holiday, no nightlife, there are a few pubs.
We had a wonderful stay at Anita's cottage. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed the fireplace. The cottage is within a 45min to an hour drive from Galway city center and many other great places including Kylemore Abbey, and Connemara championship links golf course. Anita was great with communication and also very welcoming and even left us some breakfast!
A beautiful part of the countryside with wonderful isolated beaches close by. We arrived in the dark so it was tricky to find the cottage but all the more exciting to wake up in the morning to such a wonderful view that we had breakfast outside to enjoy it. Anita was really kind leaving all the breakfast things ready which was much appreciated. The house is a step back in time and nevertheless equipped with dishwasher, washing machine etc.. We had a great Easter there (by the way Anita - thanks also for the easter eggs for the kids … such a nice touch). We highly recommend a stay.
Lovely part of the county. Not for from the coral beach which is a great find. The house is real throw back to old times. I would recommend a visit.
Beautiful setting and a sweet old house. We had a turf fire one night, and a lark woke me up at dawn. I also heard a cuckoo in the evening. We did not meet Anita, but she was very accessible by phone and she left me her bird and flower identification books. I must also say that the next door neighbor and his two dogs were extremely nice.
It was very pleasant, our children loved the neighbours' dogs. We loved the oceanview and the atmosphere.
This cottage is a wonderful opportunity to experience Real Ireland. Cozy and comfortable,it was a bit tricky to find it-but then again people were so friendly and kind giving us directions.
There is everything you need there,a wonderful view and a very welcoming host. I would definitelly recommend staying there.
This cottage is a blast from the past with all necessary modern (website hidden)'s an old cottage which is an added bonus for an authentic Connemara stay. It sleeps 5 easily and has enough space to feel really warm and cosy. Open turf fire, washing machine and dish washer, I felt i had landed on my feet there. Very homely. I was delighted to have chosen this cottage. Anita is extremely helpful with any questions. She even left us milk, coffee tea etc etc wish I thought was such a nice gesture. Easy to get to but take a map so as not to miss the turn, sat navs don't take you right to the door cause it is slightly hidden behind another cottage. Beautiful views from the windowa. An absolute must!!!
We loved Anita's cottage. Five of us spent two nights and there was plenty of room. The village and surrounding area are really nice. Plenty of things to do within close distance. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops. There is a beautiful view from the back of the house and the house itself is well-equipped with anything you could need for a stay. Anita was also very helpful and friendly. We are planning to go back!
The cottage was a little hard to find (the site said Droim An Bhaire but it was apparently on a different road) but once we found it the experience was awesome! The area was beautiful and and fireplace made the stay! We definitely took advantage of the board games that were left. I would say it's about 25 minute drive from Galway city center but it's worth the experience for a night or two out in the country. Can't beat the price
