Stylishly decorated traditional courtyard, friendly staff, limited room space, thin walls so the room can be noisy with people coming & going.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Kelly's. Mark is such a great host! He will help you with anything you need, including refilling your phone with minutes, booking a private car for a day at the Great Wall, and recommending nearby restaurants. There's even a common room upstairs with a desktop and large television, and even an iron and ironing board if you need one. Blow dryer and a tea kettle are provided in the rooms, and the bathroom's are very clean. I would definitely recommend Kelly's and would stay there again if I find myself in Beijing!
This place is great! Mark, our host, was very friendy, speaks English very well and is so helpful.
It's close to public transpost (metro closeby) and within the busy hub of Beijing it's an oasis of peace and quiet. With an awesome roofterrace, nice rooms and a great courtyard. fridge for quite cheap drinks and overall a nice and safe place to go after a busy day :)
Would definitely recommend
This was our first time to Beijing and we had a wonderful experience. Kelly's Courtyard was a great place to stay. Mark the on site manager was very friendly and helpful, always there to great you in the beautiful courtyard upon coming and going from Kelly's. He arranged a tour to a lesser visited section of the Great Wall, loaned us bikes for riding, and even helped us with transit arrangements in the next city on our visit. The location in Beijing and the character of Kelly's being in one of Beijing's hutongs made it ideal for us. Rooms were very nice , cleaned and serviced each day. A small quaint guest house that felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend it. Oh and the beer was cold and cheap too!
It is a little hard to find because it is on a small alley in a hutong. That in itself is part of the attraction of adventure seeking tourists. But as one small recommendation I suggest the map provided by Kelly's Courtyard on their web site and the airbnb listing be updated and replaced with the handy location map Kelly's provide guests upon arrival.
