Interaction with Guests
Most of our guests communicate with us over email or phone, but occasionally we will meet guests when we have just finished upgrades or maintenance on the house!
Quiet, yet close to Sunriver and Mount Bachelor.
Notes about the location:
There are 6 houses on Remington, only 1 on the opposite side of the street due to the fact that the other side of the street is the National Forest. Our neighborhood is really quiet. That being said, we are 7 minutes from Sunriver Village and 15 minutes to the resort itself by car. There are numerous bike trails nearby. You can either drive to Sunriver village and enjoy the paved bike trails there, or from the house, you can bike 2 miles away to the paved bike trails next to the Deschutes River. There is a map of mountain biking in the area in the house.
Summer: Our street is NOT paved but is gravel/dirt
Winter: Generally speaking, it usually doesn't snow much, but when it does, it can be 6-12 inches. As such, we always recommend that people either have 4wd or at least bring chains. Our street is plowed by the County, but can be one of the last streets to get plowed.
No, we are not near any public transportation and our close to the National Forest and mountains. The road can be dusty in the summer and 4wd or chains are recommended due to potential snow in the winter!
Other Things to Note
Our son has allergies, so please no pets, no smoking!
Garbage pickup is Wednesday morning, so if you happen to be staying on Tuesday night and the bin is full, please take out to end of driveway. There is no curbside recycling in this area so everything goes in the garbage.
Access code and wifi password sent within 24 hours of booking confirmation. No smoking in the house. Prior to checkout, please wash all dishes and put everything back where you found it. Please make sure the TV is turned off. Please leave light on in master bedroom next to closet and in the front room next to the front door. Please turn down heater to 50. Please make sure all windows and doors are shut when you leave. Please close all curtains. To lock the front (or back) door when you leave, close the door and while holding it, push the center "lock" button on the keypad. The motorized lock will make a whirring sound and may beep. When it stops, turn the handle and push to make sure the door actually locked. If it wasn't able to turn the lock due to misalignment, from the inside, turn the lock open and repeat the process again while pushing the door closed.
We enjoyed our stay at this quiet and comfortable house. We came for a wedding in Sunriver. The house is located in a wooded neighborhood, about 15 minutes from the resort. The house is well appointed and clean. The bed we slept on was super comfy. Watching movies was easy and quite comfortable on the overstuffed couch. Carmen was a great communicator before, during and even after our stay!
Nice place. Peace and quite in the forest.
Josh, this is the same complaint I have at home!! The way my husband explains it, anytime there is a audio receiver in the middle of the tv and the speakers, it tends to complicate it for people. At home, we have a programmable remote that helps solve the problem. Do the external speakers help or would you rather see a soundbar maybe? Or even just no external speakers at all, but use the TV's built in speakers? If we went to the TV speaker's we would take out the receiver and hopefully that would make things easier? Thoughts?
As always, we have such a great time when we stay at Joshua and Carmen's Sunriver home. It is so very relaxing to be able to kick back amongst all the beautiful scenery and left the week meander on by. The home has everything to have a relaxing week away from the hustle and bustle of the normal work week. Thank you so much Joshua and Carmen for allowing us to vacation in your home away from home.

Secluded and serene we found the location to be restful, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay
Spacious home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, good-sized kitchen, great washer and dryer. Large yard but not a "lawn." Location is off the beaten (email hidden)ry dusty road. Bed was comfy in master bedroom. The place could use a few improvements, but overall not a bad place for the price.
Thanks Linda! It is true, our place is off the beaten path. In fact, we are on the border of National Forest and it is a major attraction for our guests! It's true we don't have a cultivated, manicured lawn like you would find in the city proper. In fact, the majority of homes in Sunriver and Three Rivers tend to be natural grasses. The natural grasses are what attract the deer you hopefully saw during your stay who are regulars past our house. We are indeed on a dirt road about 1/2 mile away from pavement, but it is plowed in the winter. Personally, I hope they never pave the road, but I'm sure it will eventually come (they just paved the first quarter mile off Solar in the last six months). We hope you didn't find the 7-10 minute drive to Sunriver village to be too far out of the way. We thank you for your stay and will work on some of the improvements you mentioned!
This was a lovely home to stay in. We loved staying in a place that felt isolated, but was only 10 minutes from the center of Sunriver. There are front and back porches that look onto lots of grasses and trees. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances and utensils, and there was everything we needed to use the washer and drier. The living room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. Having two bathrooms was especially nice. I would definitely stay here again!
As always it was an incredibly relaxing week at Carmen's getaway in Sunriver. The weather was excellent and the time with family is always great. The house has everything we needed to enjoy ourselves and is in the perfect central location to go to any of the nearby lakes for a great time. Looking forward to my trip in August back to Carmen's Sunriver home. Thank you so much!!!! Russ, Larry and Bill Leise
