Very kind and helpful staff. Property is beautiful and clean. I liked that it was a little outside of the downtown area, you get to see a different aspect of the city.
Room was a little tight, but probably because the bed was so big. Great for a night or two.
Such a cute place! Staff was very welcoming upon arrival. They gave us recommendations on places to eat (Buen Comer and Limoncello), which were amazing. We had to leave early at 6am the next morning so we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast, but they offered us coffee which was amazing. Very close to downtown, we were able walk there and explore. Donna also helped set up a taxi driver (Giovanni) who picked us up from the airport and took us directly to Casa 69 for $25. He was soo nice and gave us some historic background as we drove to the hotel. Would definitely recommend this place. Also, wifi worked great.
We had a wonderful experience at Casa69! The room looked even better in person. Casa 69 is very close to a pharmacy, Peruvian eatery and a pub! Everyone there was so nice, helpful and accommodating to our needs. From Casa we were able to explore on foot the churches, museums and even the zoo. We will miss Casa 69 and San Jose.
Our stay at Cas 69 was perfect! We arrived at San Jose Airport late at night and was able to hop on a taxi for $25 one way (arranged by Casa 69). The hotel staff was very helpful, the rooms were beautifully decorated, and the breakfast in the morning was simple (bread, jams, fruits, fresh juice) but delicious. We stayed in two different rooms (one upgraded suite and one regular room). Both rooms were spacious and comfortable, and while without A/C, had ceiling fans that kept it breezy and at reasonable temperatures during our entire stay. Casa 69 is a bit of a walk away from the city center (10-15 min), but I would definitely recommend Casa 69 to anyone traveling to San Jose. I have zero complaints!
We stayed at Casa 69 for two nights. Dave was great at responding to my queries before we arrived and had organized pick up from the hotel. However we did not find the driver when we got out of the airport - we searched the waiting area outside but were unable to find him. But Casa 69 is a popular destination and taxi drivers (take the red taxi its cheaper) know exactly where it is. The premises itself and rooms were very nice. Everything was clean and comfy - I especially appreciated the comfortable bed after the long travel. The decor and set up is as shown in the pictures, it is very tasteful. Donna and Dave provide free calls to the US, which came in handy. The wifi works fine, and breakfast is simple but filling. Donna and her staff were also helpful in arranging transportation to the bus terminals and setting things up for us. The neighborhood may look shady but its not - we had no problems walking around at night. In fact it is walking distance to the food, transportation and activity hubs. It is also very close to museums and the art market. For two nights for $36 we were very happy. We didnt pay for the Hilton and we expected a BnB, and for a BnB our stay was very well organized.
Stayed here with my wife for one night the day we arrived in Costa Rica. We had a really hard time finding it as there are few street signs and house numbers in San Jose. If you're driving, plan to pay $10 to Casa 69 to use their parking. Casa 69 is clean, and as peaceful as one could hope for in San Jose and they have a nice roof deck with great views. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Their breakfast and coffee is good and affordable. Two items to be aware of are that there are a few animals that live there and there is a loud train that passes nearby regularly including throughout the night.
