Right in the heart of downtown San Jose, this place is a really cool find. Its a little loud with the bars at nice, but the plants and atmosphere provide a little oasis inside the city. Everyone was very nice and breakfast was great. Completely surrounded by places to eat and drink, parking is very limited.

Casa 69 is a great spot to stay at when in San Jose! It is within walking distance of the museums and downtown, and close to many restaurants and bars. Can get noisy with the bar and train nearby but nothing ear plugs can't fix. The staff (especially Yovany and Henry) were super helpful and accommodating. They helped us with any arrangements we needed. Casa 69 also serves delicious fruit, Gallo pinto and coffee for breakfast in their wonderful patio. Would definitely recommend!

Casa 69 was not the place I imagined it to be. Some of it was cute and charming but the online description was purely about the main house. We were unknowingly housed across the street where it was extremely noisy with people partying up half of the night or more. It was also DIRECTLY next to a train track which when it passed jolted us up out of sleep. This was the worst nights sleep we've had in a while. The room had a disgusting musty odor like a pile of wet towels have been left there for three months. The smell accumulated and got worse when the room was shut up without a fan or a window open. The host was kind and gracious and the breakfast was nice and local....fresh fruits and great bread. Staff was all very nice.

We booked a last minute reservation for our overnight stay in San Jose. We knew not to expect much but this was not what we wanted to expect. The entrance was pretty hard to find and no one was at the door while we rang the bell several times. Then the city train drove past early am and woke us up every half hour. Worst part is finding cockroaches throughout the room... I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have no other options.

My boyfriend and I absolutely adored Casa 69. We stayed in San Jose for two nights, and booked the listing since it was situated in such a convenient location (Central Market is about a 10 minute walk away, Irish pub is next door, museums are down the street, etc.). We showed up a few hours before check in time since our flight landed in San Jose around 8 am. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly dogs in the front, the receptionist, and even had coffee with Donna for a little bit. She kindly gave us wonderful tips on where to go and which restaurants to eat at. We also got to hang out at the rooftop terrace, giving us a wonderful view of San Jose. An iMac is also available to guests (a godsend for those who do not have a SIM card on their phones) in the main house. We would also like to thank one of the staff members for always checking in with us and being so friendly. He gave us recommendations for the restaurants/bars and even coordinated a shuttle to Monteverde for us. Our room/bathroom was located in the house across the street, and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is complimentary and absolutely delicious(fruits, juice, coffee, and bread provided). All in all, such a lovely experience. Thank you, Casa 69!
