This spanish colonial revival home was built in 1925 and was the first house built in the San Roque neighborhood. There is a separate entrance to the master bedroom suite which includes a bedroom with king size tempurpedic mattress, luxurious linens, down comforter and private bathroom with shower off of the bedroom. The private entrance opens into the sitting room with a large flat screen TV, Blu-ray DVD, cable and wifi internet are included. The sitting room has a large comfy sofa which can easily be slept on by one person. There is also a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and electric tea kettle.
A beautiful 100 year old oak tree is outside the sitting room's picture window. There is also a picnic table and chairs for you to use outside the entrance, and mountain views. The section of the yard outside the entrance is for our guests but it is connected to the rest of the house's front yard. Parking is available on the street and neighborhood is very safe.
San Roque is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Santa Barbara with a diversity of architecture, great trees and parks, plus it is family friendly and very close to downtown. Lots of great local shops, the best bookstore in town, grocery store, and one of our most famous cocktail bars are all within walking distance. San Roque is considered one of the neighborhoods that is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara. Our house is one block off of State Street and 2 miles to Hendry's beach (Arroyo Burro).
All we ask is for our guests to leave the apartment the way they found it, although no need to make the bed. The apartment does share a wall with the main house so we try to make sure we won't disturb you, and vice versa.
We welcome dogs only. We have a small dog and your dog is welcome to share the front and back yard with our dog. There will be an additional pet deposit.
No smoking and no more than 4 people. The apartment would just be too small : )
We loved our stay in Jennifer's Master Suite. The suite was spacious and very comfortable. Located in a quiet, charming neighborhood close to shopping and restaurants. The suite is thoughtfully decorated, a fun color pallet. We enjoyed the original paintings and art works.
There are two sofas in the suite, rugs on the hardwood floors and the bed is super comfortable. The windows were open when we arrived providing a cool California breeze that smelled of the flowers blooming in the garden.
Jennifer really put thought into making guests feel comfortable. There is plenty of incandescent lighting, and available outlets for charging electronics. It bugs me when I can't charge my phone next to me when I sleep and it's often a problem traveling. Not here! Jennifer has two bedside lamps flanking the king sized bed and outlets for charging. She provides a coffee and tea station in the living room with mini fridge and a water stand. A really cute addition I have not seen at an airbnb rental before. The private entrance is key for me. I don't like walking through a residence to get to my room. Loved that about this place. She has a fenced in yard that was perfect for my small dog, he also approved of our stay.
I would not hesitate to stay here again! Thanks Jennifer
We had a fantastic experience with Jennifer's suite! It was very easy to check in, all the the directions were clear. There is a beautiful 100 year old oak tree at the entrance, with a large picnic table for use. There is a definite wow factor when you enter. The space was perfect for my husband and me. There is a living room if you need your own space for reading or TV. The bedroom has a connected bathroom with a rain shower fixture. The king size bed was comfy with pretty linens. The location was perfect because we actually wanted to eat dinner at Harrys Plaza Cafe, and it was right across the street. We would definitely recommend this Air bnb experience!
Jennifer was a great host, and was incredibly helpful with recommendations and tips. The unit was as good as or better than described, and she opened her fenced in yard for use for our dog. Overall it was a great stay and I would absolutely request to stay here again if we return to Santa Barbara.
Jennifer's house is located in a quiet residential area north of downtown Santa Barbara just off State Street. The king sized bed was comfortable. The evenings were very quiet. Overall a good location for enjoying Santa Barbara and a quiet place to sleep.
Great space conveniently located in Santa Barbara. Jennifer was a great host and the apartment was very well appointed (even has a mini fridge, coffee maker, etc). There are multiple restaurants within walking distance including a couple of great breakfast spots, and downtown is really close. Thanks for the great visit, we'll be back!
We are so happy we found this GEM! We love Santa Barbara and go often but it was always difficult to find a nice, clean, and affordable place. Until now.
The suite is a cozy living space with everything you need. We loved the bed, the king size was great. We had everything we needed and felt very comfortable.
I am a southern girl raised in Louisville Kentucky. I am married with two girls, ages 8 and 12. I have lived in Santa barbara on and off for the past 20 years, I am a former restaurant owner and am currently trying to survive making pinot noir from Cailfornias Santa Rita Hills. I have always enjoyed entertaining, and truly love music ! My family spends lot of time outdoors hiking, biking, dog walking or just enjoying one of many stellar sunsets Santa Barbara has to offer. We truly love our home and look forward to sharing it with you!
