▪︎We do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, citizenship, religion, political beliefs, or sexual orientation, but children under the age of 6 are not permitted for safety reasons.
▪︎ It's always a great time to escape your daily grind and come to Case Rock Eco-Retreat. Drive merely 30 min up the interstate from downtown Birmingham, and a short drive from the exit, you will park your car at the goat pen, throw your belongings in the back of our UTV, and one of our staff will transport you to the 105 acre sanctuary. The Microcamper sits under a covered pavilion overlooking the creek below. Expect daily visits from deer and other wildlife. The Microcamper features an outdoor kitchen, a heated rain water fed shower, fire pit, and a 10 foot observation deck overlooking the beautiful scenery below.
▪︎ The pavilion is open on all sides, so you are shielded from the sun and rain, yet can enjoy the fresh air and views of the woods surrounding the Microcamper at the Overlook. The only enclosed spaces are the toilet closet and the sleeping compartment of the Microcamper.
▪︎ If you'd like to bring more than 2 people, just ask. We will work with you on the size of your party.
▪︎ Also provided are towels, sheets, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, and TP.
▪︎ We know how hard it is to find an AirBnB that takes pets, so we welcome most dog breeds except Rottweilers, Dobermans, pit bulls and pit mixes (insurance company rules). We do not charge a pet fee. They just need to be OK with riding in the Ranger with you to Microcamper.
▪︎ We have goats and an Anatolian Shepherd livestock guardian dog which are kept behind a fence at base camp where you park your car. You may pet the goats if they will let you as they are still getting used to people. We sometimes have baby goats. We ask that you keep your dogs in your car until check-in process is complete so that it doesn't freak our animals out.
▪︎ Not only are you enjoying the off-grid adventure camping experience, you also have 105 acres of trails at your back door. You will enjoy solitude and the quietness of being on the sparsely populated property. In order to reach the Microcamper at the Overlook, we will pick you up and drop you off in a Ranger. All other trips back and forth are up to you.
▪︎ The Microcamper is located just off the main trail surrounded by woods. The Locust Fork River access is ~1/4 mile down the trail from the Microcamper.

It is advised you bring food and a cooler with you with ice as there is no refrigerator. When you check in, you should not plan on dropping your things at The Microcamper and then going out to dinner. Logistically this is difficult due to the length and challenge of the hike out to your car. We strongly advise you eat dinner before you come, bring take-out, or bring ingredients with you to cook.
The Microcamper is OFF-GRID and features:
▪︎ a private camping toilet
▪︎ solar panels (back up generation is available)
▪︎ non-potable water from the water tanks (except in below freezing temperatures when the water system must be winterized)
▪︎ drinking water from water dispenser
▪︎ electric lights with USB ports for charging your devices
▪︎ hot shower with propane instant hot water heater (except when water system has been winterized)
-propane grill with a burner for cooking with pots and pans
▪︎ THERE IS NO AC.
▪︎ THERE IS NO REFRIGERATOR. You should bring a cooler with ice. We also sell ice for $5 a bag.
▪︎ For $25 dollars we will provide service for your stay..
▪︎ Water system in winter--it is possible while you are staying Nov-April that you may have no running water if the temperature is below freezing.
▪︎ There is also a fire pit in front of the dock for your enjoyment.
▪︎Drinking water is provided in the form of a 5 gallon jug with dispenser.
▪︎ Cell phone reception— Cell phone reception can be spotty. There is no Wifi at MOG Mountain. You may use the Wifi at the main house in a pinch. If you are hiking alone, we give you a radio.
▪︎Float in an inner tube or kayak down river to the bridge, a 1 to 5 hour long trip depending on the current. This trip should only be attempted when the river is at safe levels. Sudden heavy rains can make the river unnavigable. In fall/winter/spring the river is often high. We charge $25 per person to transport boats/inner tubes to the river and pick you up at the bridge.
▪︎Fish in the Locust Fork River. Bring your own equipment. Bait (worms) can be purchased at Ace Hardware in Warrior.

You are located 30 minutes north of Birmingham, Alabama, a thriving city with a rich food and music scene. Its award-winning restaurants, killer music venues, museums, and shopping can keep you busy for days should you venture from Case Rock Compound. The main entrance to MOG Mountain is two miles off I-65, and two miles from the nearest grocery store, restaurants, pharmacy, and gas stations in the nearby town of Warrior. The real draw here is the Locust Fork River, which is an unregulated, scenic river good for fishing and floating downstream when the water levels are lower. The cabin sits high above the river, safely out of the flood zone, so it can be enjoyed year-round. You can enjoy the sound and view of the river, as well as the surrounding 105 acres and all its natural features. Nearby you will find Rickwood Caverns State Park which has tours in its enormous underground caverns. Further north, you can rent kayaks and canoes and enjoy the whitewater sections of the Locust Fork River. Whether natural attractions or man-made, this area offers many reasons to visit.
The Microcamper at the Overlook is easily accessible from I-65, and only a few minutes from the I-20/59 interchange.
