DEAL!! $70 A NIGHT FOR MARCH LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS ONLY!!***
***** SPECIAL FOR MARCH 2014 LAST MINUTE BOOKINGS: $70 A NIGHT FOR 2 PEOPLE!!! ******** REGULAR RATE IS $85/NIGHT.
We are located in historic Haleiwa town, and you can walk to the stores, art galleries and shave ice stands from our house. We have several beaches within walking distance (Alii Beach and Haleiwa Beach) , and we are about 10-15 minutes drive to the other North Shore beaches for surfing and body boarding. North Shore has legendary beaches, including Sunset Beach and Waimea Beach, and surfing contests are held throughout the winter season. You can walk directly to the local stores and shops and eateries. It is recommended that you have a car if you intend to surf outside of the Haleiwa surrounding beaches, and I can recommend places to rent mopeds and scooters in Haleiwa too. Otherwise, buses run regularly throughout the North Shore. See Go Hawaii's website for more information about North Shore and Haleiwa.
The bedroom itself is a cozy and comfortable room with hardwood floors, queen bed, dresser, and a desk. It is not a very big room but it is well kept and clean, and many travelers and guests have enjoyed staying here. Included are wi-fi, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and shared use of the common areas like the kitchen, living room and bathroom.
As a host, I can give you recommendations of where to rent surfboards, kayaks, etc... and where to go for local Yoga, Zumba, and outdoor activities, depending on what your interests are. Our location is walking distance to restaurants and shops like Haleiwa Cafe and the Beet Box organic cafe. We are about a 15 minute walk to the beach, and you stroll through Haleiwa town on your way there. The two main beaches in Haleiwa are Haleiwa Beach and Alii Beach parks. Puena Point in Haleiwa Beach park is a popular surf location, as is Alii Beach, where contests happen every year. You can stroll down Kam Hywy and get some Shave Ice at Matsumoto's or get some garlic shrimp at Giovanni's shrimp truck.
Please note that North Shore is considered to be the "Country" part of Oahu, and there are wild chickens and roosters in the neighborhood. Some guests may need to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper and sensitive to noise.
We are 2 very considerate and nice working professional roommates, who enjoy the outdoor North Shore lifestyle. We are drug free and do not accept partying, drugs or smoking on premises. We do have two well behaved cats who are indoor/outdoor cats (very clean). We are respectful professionals and the house feels like a Asian retreat, with Asian decor and natural greenery all around. I also speak Cantonese fluently. ; )
I can also provide airport pick up and drop off for $60 one way. It takes about 1 hour from Haleiwa to Honolulu airport. For town pick up or any other location further than airport, additional fee will be added depending on distance.
If interested, please email me some information about yourself and the dates that you are interested in staying.
Look forward to hearing from you!

I love Ele's place. She is a wonderful host! The house is very close to town where you can have the famous north shore shaved ice and lots of great restaurant. The two cats in the house are the sweetest cats that I ever met! I will absolutely come back again. Thanks a lot, Ele!!
Even before we arrived, Ele extended a warm welcome and a flexibility to work out our arrival times. Once we arrived, we quickly felt like we had come to visit a friend. She made us comfortable and directed us to shops and recreation sites in response to our expressed interests and needs. She even led us in her car, us following, to the local Farmer's Market so we could stock up on the papayas, bananas and limes we see as essential to enjoying any trip to Hawaii. Her cats were curious and friendly, but didn't mind strangers carrying them out of our room. She graciously let us use her washer and dryer, as well as part of her refrigerator. We had a number of conversations with her, but she was never intrusive on our alone time. When it came time to leave, we were sorry to say goodby. The next time we're back in the Haleiwa area, we will surely want to stay with her again.
Staying at Ele's house for 2 nights was an amazing experience. The room was beautiful, clean and confortable. Ele is a really good host, she's kind and respectful and helpfull. I would recommend it to anyone!
Great place, great cats, great host. Ele's communication was great; she was friendly and interesting. Had a great time on the north shore. The room was clean, the waves were great, and the sun was shining. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
My stay with Ele was like staying at a friend's place. She was very helpful in recommending places to eat and things to do. She took the time to get to know us, which I really appreciated! Her cats were friendly and was a nice welcome home sight after a long day in the sun! Great communication with a cozy room in a great location, close to Haleiwa, local shops, food trucks and beaches. I would definitely recommend staying with Ele!
Our one week stay with Ele at Oahu's North Shore coast was very nice. Ele was very welcoming and helpful in planing our time on Oahu. Her roommate is very friendly as well and not disturbing at all. The room is a bit small but cozy and her two cats are really cute. We were allowed to use Eles washing machine and her snorkeling stuff as well as her lonely planet and several maps of the island, which was very nice. Thank you Ele!
We had an amazing time in Haleiwa and staying with Ele made it that much better. We stayed in this room for 12 nights and it was the perfect space- even for two 21 year old best friends with more stuff than was necessary. The room was really comfortable and cute. We had our own full length mirror which was really great and enough space to put all of our things. Ele was really helpful and gave us a lot of tips, from which beach to visit to see sea turtles to restaurants and cafes to get breakfast. We really had such an adventurous and memorable trip and staying here was a huge part of it. IT'S THE PERFECT LOCATION. You're less than a minute drive, or about a 5 minute walk from the main town center and really close to all of the beaches. Ele and Amber's place is so nice and warm. We really felt at home there and missed it as soon as we left. Everything about this trip was incredible. P.S… I fell in love with the their 2 cats, especially Puffy. They are both adorable, loving, and really well behaved and definitely added to the homey feel. Overall, A++ trip and we're already looking forward to coming back!
Ele's place was perfect for us and just as she described it on her site. We had use of the kitchen, living room, bathroom and our bedroom. All was very clean and welcoming. Ele kept in close phone communication with us as we did not have a computer on the islands. Thank you Ele for everything! -Janet

First of all I have to say that Ele is a great host! She is so kind and friendly and makes you feel comfortable. And her two cats Hina and Puffy are so cute. You will like them. The house is perfect situated. Right on the end of Haleiwa town (so you don't hear the noise from the Kamehameha Highway. And if you have a car you have to drive only three minutes and you can choose between 4 different beaches! Even if you do not have a car (in which situation I was), getting around is quite easy. If you walk, you only need 35 minutes to all the beaches and you can take TheBus for only $2,50 and drive around the Island and even to Honolulu which takes 2hrs by bus. The Bus Stop is only one walking minute away at Weed Circle. Moreover the house has everything you need: a well-equipped kitchen, a very cute bathroom, a nice living room (with a christmas tree) and the room is perfect for one person but the bed is big enough for two. And the fan will cool you down on hot days. And because of staying in Haleiwa you have everything you need: gas station, surf shops (5 or 6!!!), two supermarkets and many souvenir shops. If you are a surfer and don't travel with boards you will find Tropical Rush Surfshop near the Bridge at Haleiwa Joe's where you can get all kind of boards for only $15 a day! Just ask for Rick, he is a very friendly and will help you to get the right board for you. The surf spots Pua'ena Point (perfect for longboarders) and Ali'i Beach Park (Reef Hawaiian Pro Location) are in walking distance. All in all you will have a great time at Ele's house because if you want to explore Oahu and its beaches (Pipeline/Backdoor, Off the Wall, Sunset,...) and the surf events you have to stay here. Even if your clothes are all dirty you can wash them because Ele has a washing machine and a dryer. So everything you need is there. I will come back to Hawaii again... And of course I gonna stay at Ele's house. Thank you for the good times! I had great two weeks :)
