Hi, I'm Liz and welcome to my house. I have two double rooms available to rent, one with an en-suite and the other a spacious attic room. The attic room is at the top of the house and as you can see from the photo it is open to the stairs. It is however both private and secluded. I can provide a comfortable fold-out bed for children or an extra guest in the attic room - children are most welcome! Towels, shower gel and hairdryer are available.
I provide a continental style breakfast and can cater for coeliac, wheat or dairy intolerant diets once you let me know in advance. My house is located in a leafy part of Dublin about 20 minutes from the city centre, there's a bus stop right across the street and it's about a 15 minute walk to the tram line and a 15 minute trip into St Stephens Green from there. We are also conveniently located close to University College Dublin which is a short bike or bus ride away.
My home is filled with interesting art, objects and books that I have collected over the years. I have a secluded back garden filled with many plants and home to a variety of birds. There is off street parking available in front of the house and a well-stocked convenience store and pharmacy across the street. We are close to Dundrum shopping centre and there is a choice of restaurants and cosy pubs around the area. The surrounding area has many beautiful parks, interesting museums and lovely walks by the nearby river.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to make tea, coffee or to relax in the living room which has a flat screen tv with a choice of DVD's or multi channel viewing. I have maps and information about what's on in Dublin and am happy to orient you so you can make the most of your stay. Whether it's traditional music, art, restaurants, museums, shopping, nightlife or just relaxing I will do my best to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable.
I think I will miss quite a few superlatives to talk about my stay with Liz & Robert! They are such nice hosts, you couldn't find better really. If you are looking for a pretty and cosy home with friendly hosts who will make everything possible to make you feel at home, you have to pick Liz's house then! It's only 20mn away from the city centre, and less than 10mn to Rathmines amenities. You'll only have to cross the street to catch the bus or go to the supermarket. Everything is bright, warm and clean in the house and Liz will let you use it as it was yours.
As I've planned to settle in Dublin, I really hope I'll stay in touch with Liz and Robert, who are wonderful people whom I've been delighted to meet. 100% satisfied, so go for it!
I enjoyed my stay with Liz and Robert, which are fantastic hosts!
The attic room is very cosy and warm in winter. The house atmosphere is friendly and at home, but at the same time you get the privacy you might need. I could stay here for a much longer period, but it perfectly suits short stays too. Really, I enjoyed my stay here. Recommending it.
> Superb house and room in a very quiet neighborhood. You really feel like you're staying in somebody's home, not some impersonal hotel.
> I would recommend this neighborhood over the city center for multiple reasons: there's a huge supermarket close by with very affordable prices, the area is quiet at night, unlike the busy pub filled center, it's only 15 minutes away from Trinity College by bus so don't be deterred by the apparent distance.
> It's extremely clean!
> For breakfast we had traditional Irish things such as soda bread, red cheddar and Irish butter. It was delicious and we wouldn't have known about them otherwise.
> Liz and Robert are amazing people! We've had long conversations every evening over dinner about anything. They told us lots about Irish history and sights to see and they were very interested in our country as well.
> It was like visiting relatives and we never felt for one second we were in some strangers' house.
> You'll not be there forever :(
This was my first time with airbnb and I feel very lucky I got to try the system with Liz. The whole family welcomed me and made me feel at home.
The room was beautiful (exactly as you can see from the pictures!) and everything I could possibly need was already there. Liz has been extremely kind, friendly and considerate and she's helped me in many ways.I have recently moved to Dublin and staying with Liz was a great start for this new adventure.
All I can say is "there should be more people like Liz!" Go stay with her, you'll have a great time!
We had a wonderful time with Liz at her place! The attic room, which we stayed in, was beautiful, comfortable and seemed even more spacious than in the picture. We felt very welcome in this artistic home, that we hardly left during the first days, since our child was ill. Once we did, it was just an easy bus ride - door to door to Trinity College.
We highly recommend staying with Liz!
Liz's house is clean and nice. We had a great time there. Location is good, just 5mins by driving from Dundrum shopping center. Liz and her family show great interest in China and our culture, which is vey impressive. HIGHLY RECOMMANDED.
Absolutely amazing place to stay. Bed is very comfortable and every one in the house was very nice.
Liz was great and very helpful... not only did she make our stay very comfortable, but she also gave us tips on what to do while in London!
Liz and her husband were amazing hosts and I couldn't have been happier. They accommodated 5 American girls and gave us such a wonderful experience in Dublin, because of them alone I would come back. They served us a delicious breakfast and pictures truly don't do their home justice. It was so cozy and warm, we never wanted to leave! If I ever come back to Dublin, I wouldn't want anything more than to be in their company again. It was like a home away from home.
This was my first Airbnb experience, and I could not have asked for a better host. Liz is incredibly kind, helpful, and makes you feel right home. I stayed with two other girls, (we also used Liz's other listing) for St. Patrick's Day weekend. We arrived late at night, and because the bus to Liz's house was no longer running, she offered to pick us up from a stop off of the aircoach (which is 12 euros roundtrip, has free wi-fi, and is only about 20-30 minutes from the center of dublin, near trinity college). To use the bus from there to get to Liz's is another 2.15 euro one way, and only 15-20 minutes. It stops literally across the street from her house, which is incredibly convenient. Transportation overall was easy, and it was actually quite nice to get away from the loud city and stay in a nice, cozy home. The house itself was nicely decorated, incredibly clean, and we had a lot of privacy with our own bathroom, with shower. In the morning, Liz would make us an authentic Irish breakfast, which was delicious and filling--bran bread, marmalade, tea, fruit, and porridge. She even got us some cheddar cheese after we mentioned how much we've missed it since studying abroad. Whenever we had questions about events or transportation, Liz knew just where to look and was very helpful in finding that information for us. She got us several guidebooks, maps, and tourist pamphlets that were really helpful when we were getting around the city on our own. Overall, I would absolutely choose to stay here again. Here, you get a beautiful, artsy, spacious, and private accommodation, a tasty breakfast, easy, quick, and cheap transportation to the center city, to the airport, and to other cities in Dublin, and last but certainly not least, a fantastic host!!! Thank you so much, Liz for letting us stay, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you are ever in the US!
