We had a brilliant stay in Cockermouth, the room was great and beds very comfortable. All the amenities, bathroom, kitchen, and living areas were also to an extremely high standard.
Michelle was also great, she was very accommodating and always to hand to give us good pub recommendations!
We will definitely be back once our legs have recovered from climbing Scafell Pike!
We just got back from a weekend in the Lakes and it was by far one of my favourite B&B experiences. Michelle goes out of her way to make sure you are accommodated for. We were stuck in traffic driving up from London and offered to stay up until we arrived- even if it was close to midnight. Knowing we would be late, and shops would be shut, she made sure we had tea, coffee and milk for the morning. She also is a great whistle-stop tour guide. We quickly knew where to eat, drink, and shop within 10 minutes of touring. I cant emphasise enough how homely she made our stay. I felt like we were visiting a long lost friend.
The retreat itself is lovely. The room is exactly how it is depicted and the bed is especially comfy with very nice bedding. Great for those with back problems and a desire for super soft sheets. The shared bathroom is also very nicely finished and the shower is especially good- nice pressure.
I cant fault this place or Michelle and we will definitely be back as there is so much to see in the Lake District a weekend just isn't enough.
