Interaction with Guests
I'll be here to welcome you on arrival, show you around the house, answer any questions you may have and provide some insider tips and info on local sights and amenities. I'll then be available by phone, email, text, or (website hidden) for the duration of your stay and hope to help make your holiday in Dublin as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
This is a very safe, friendly area - one of the few remaining genuine old Dublin neighbourhoods still unspoiled by 'progress'. People around here still know each other by name and greet each otherin the street with a smile - a rare find in most cities these days!
We're also lucky enough to have the beautiful, tranquil Phoenix Park literally as our back garden, which is the largest enclosed park in Europe and a wonderful space to explore. The deer roam freely here, and you can enjoy an exhilirating run, take in the award-winnning Dublin Zoo, or just relax and watch the world go by over a delicious coffee and cake at the quaint little old Tea Rooms down near the Bandstand. The lovely Royal Canal Walk is just a short stroll away too.
Within 2 -10 minutes walk, we have several fantastic bars and restaurants, including the jewel in the crown - The Hole In The Wall. If it's a REAL traditional Irish pub experience you're after, then this can't be beaten!
The best bit! While there is bus stop about 5 mins walk away, and train at 15 mins, almost all my guests choose instead to avail of my wonderful local taxi drivers - and right-hand men! - Robbie and Jimmy. (See the many glowing mentions they get in my reviews) From airport pick-ups, to short hops into Temple Bar/City Centre, to day-trips out to our beautiful coastal fishing villages such as Howth, Malahide or Dalkey, the guys will be on hand to make getting around Dublin fast, easy, affordable, enjoyable and stress-free. Also, Robbie and Jimmy are the absolute Fonts of All Knowledge on the subjects of places to see and things to do in Dublin, and are happy to offer the best advice and suggestions, specifically tailored to your requirements. Several guests have even remarked that it's like having your own personal tour guides, for a similar cost to public transport. The friendly, efficient service they provide my guests in invaluable (and unrivalled!) and a huge perk for anyone who chooses to stay here.

And most importantly - relax, make yourself at home and have a lovely time!
Susan was an excellent host. She gave us a very warm-hearted welcome at her place even though we arrived there very late in the evening. She was very attentive and responsive from the first moment we had reserved. We stayed at Susan's place with two families of four people each and had a few fantastic days in Dublin. This thanks to Susan herself, her house, the lovely neighbourhood with Phoenix Park and the "Hole in the Wall" pub only a stone's throw away (don't miss either of it!) and, last but by no means least, our "personal" guide Jimmy. The tours and chats with him, his useful advises and suggestions we appreciated very much.
Thanks a million, Susan and Jimmy - you were both simply grand!
Wonderful, fantastic, loved it!!! I can't say enough about our stay in Dublin. The home is beautiful, spacious and well appointed with plenty of room for everyone. My teenaged sons loved having an entire floor to themselves with flat screen, PS3, pool table, and fast wifi. My mom loved the charming private garden off her bedroom where she could disappear with a cup of tea and a book found on one of the many shelves. I loved the location, in a lovely neighborhood where I could easily walk to the bakery and market, wander the great expanse of the amazing Phoenix Park, and enjoy fantastic food, drink and company at any of the wonderful nearby pubs. But we all agreed that the best part was the people. Susan is a delightful woman and an exceptional host who literally thought of everything to make our stay better. She provided power adaptors and a local mobile phone, programmed with useful contacts. There was food in the fridge and, I kid you not, an apple tart on the table when we arrived. She gave us privacy but was never more than a call away if we had a question. We also really appreciated her recommendation of a trustworthy taxi driver, Jimmy, who, for a very reasonable price, gave us speedy service and invaluable advice on how to best enjoy his city. If you get the chance, BOOK THIS PLACE! It's the total package and you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back!
Susan was one of the most generous and accommodating hosts we've stayed with. She anticipated just about everything we needed and worked hard to fill our few requests. She was very responsive and exceptionally kind. The apartment was small but smartly decorated, and there was room for the 8 of us. The kids, especially, loved all the things to do in the apartment, from the pool table to the foosball to the games and poker chips! The neighborhood was right on a huge park and right next to an awesome pub, Hole in the Wall. We felt like we were staying in the house of a friend, not a rented apartment! Thank you, Susan!
Susan is a fantastic host and I really encourage you to stay with her: the house is fantastic and perfect for a family or a group of friends, just 15' away from the center and in a really nice residential area. Susan's hospitality is just AMAZING! She will always be there in case you need help. I also encourage you to ask Susan to get Robbie (a friend of her who is a taxi driver) to pick you up from the airport... Robbie is very very friendly and always available!
We would like to thank Susan for a very nice stay in her house. Great location, and nothing but good things to say about it. Jimmy and Robbie did a great job driving us around Dublin an telling us where to go. We highly recommend to visit Dublin and we give Susan 10 out of 10 for hostpitality and general service. Jimmy and Robbie were kind and always in a good mood.
Best regards from Iceland.
Svala Reynisdóttir and family.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at Susan's house in Dublin. She had thought of everything - the cupboards and fridge were fully stocked and toiletries were provided. Highly recommend that you use Robbie & Jimmy for getting around, they were brilliant and made our trip so easy and relaxed. This really was a home from home and for the price it's an absolute bargain. Would definitely recommend this for somewhere to stay and would stay again if ever in Dublin. Thank you Susan!
Susan was a terrific host, and met us when we arrived. She stocked the fridge with great food as well as libations and nibbles when we arrived. Before we arrived, she emailed offering to help us plan our time in Dublin and offered websites with theater and music events happening while we were there. Additionally, she provided us with access to her taxi driver friends who were fantastic. They, like Susan, were top notch in providing us with great service - and we didn't have to worry about anything while we were out and about. The neighborhood is great - a large park behind her flat and a great pub just a few steps down the road. The flat was well-suited for the 6 of us.

About the Host, Susan
Hi there, I'm Susan. I live on the edge of the Phoenix Park, Dublin and couldn't wish for a better place to live. We're close enough to town to enjoy and appreciate everything our city has to offer, yet only have to look out our windows at the glorious park views to feel far removed from the hustle and bustle. I've had wonderful experiences as an AirBnB guest on breaks to cities such as London, New York and Barcelona, and decided it would be fun to try hosting for a change! I believe Dublin is one of the most characterful, vibrant cities in the world and will be more than happy to assist in every way possible to make your visit to our charming city an exciting, effortless, unforgettable experience. ;-)
