Tuncay is a wonderful host, very jovial, kind and considerate. The location is pretty good and the house itself is very quaint and lovely! The room is as shown in pictures. Makes for an excellent pick- would strongly recommend.
We only had a flying visit to Tuncay's house (overnight arriving at midnight and leaving at 9.45 am but were made to feel very welcome. Tuncay stayed up to greet us and looked after us, making us a great breakfast, ordering a taxi and generally making sure everything went well.
On top of all that it was a beautiful old Greek style house beautifully decorated with Tuncay's own artworks ((website hidden)) - So breakfast was composed not only of good food but interesting conversation about art, life and local politics...
The house is really near to the waterfront and only about 10 minutes from the railway station.
It's all perfect.
The host has good taste.
The house is like a gallery;)
You can have delicious breakfast and enjoy the paintings.
Also have a cup of tea in the garden.
It's the best bnb I have experienced until now.;)
I will come back.;)
This has been my best Air BnB experience so far. From the minute I arrived I felt like I was staying with old friends. The house and the room are beautiful, spacious and comfortable. I had a really good time with Tuncay and his friends. They showed me around the city, took me to the turkish bazar and shared drinks with me in the nice and peaceful courtyard. It has been a really great experience and I will definitely be back! Could not have been better!
I am really lacking words to describe this wonderful experience with Tuncay. Communication beforehand was excellent, he would answer my text messages within 5 mins.. In Izmir he picked me up from the bus stop, so I find his house easily. The house is one of the old Greek jewels in town. perfectly decorated with high taste in furniture and art. The room was cozy, large and just wonderful. Everything cleaned and decorated in a warm manner, plus the warm reception of Tuncay and Selahattin I felt immediately comfortable and at home. The beautiful patio/garden was so pleasant and pretty, that I spent most of my spare time to sit and enjoy the garden. There I was also very well taken care of these two very warm and welcoming hosts. I was introduced to their lovely friends, had dinner with them and thus introduced to Izmir Turkish culture. Time went by too fast and I will return to these people and the wonderful mediterranean town of Izmir. I am still speechless. Thank you Tuncay, thank you Selahattin, thank your sweet sister for the delicious Turkish breakfast.

About the Host, Tuncay
I'm a painter who exhibits in London and in the United States, and, more recently, in Istanbul, Turkey. My hobby is restoration, and this house is one of my restoration projects. My "real" job is as a vessel traffic system operator in the Çanakkale Straight.
When I'm at my home in Izmir, I love to share leisurely meals with friends over good conversation. I traveled a lot and I enjoy meeting new people and making them feel welcome in my favorite city! Bus stop is 100 m. away from myhouse. walking distance to Konak which is the Center of İzmir (2 KM).
