Adreinne was a great host and we enjoyed our time at The People's Place. The location was really great -- a block from Giant grocery and a few blocks from the Metro at Mt Vernon/Convention Center. It had a cozy set up with a family room and kitchen, and we really had no issues with heat or any of the amenities. It is on the 3rd floor and only accessible by stairs. This is definitely worth your stay.
My stay at People's Place 3 was great. The apartment lay-out may seem a bit quirky but the place has everything you need for a short or long term stay in DC. It is close to the metro, which will take you downtown in mere minutes, but everything in downtown DC is also within 20-30 minutes walking distance.
The apartment was clean and Adreinne responded immediately to any issues and questions. All in all, a great base in DC.
Great place to stay while in DC. I had a conference, and this apartment is about as close as you can get to the conference centre.
Apartment is clean, spacious and in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Groceries are a 10 min walk.
Close to Metro and BikeShare, which will take you around town, or you can walk also. 14th St bars/restaurants are only a 10 minute walk!
Thanks again for a great stay.
What a great little apartment - "quirky" is probably the right adjective. Nice location.
Adreinne was very responsive to my questions. Super host.
Had a great stay here. The stairs were a bit tight for my gigantic suitcase but all was good. This top floor apartment is bright and a perfect space. The neighborhood is good with everything you need in walking distance. Loved the lack of a TV and the on-site laundry!
This apartment is in a good location within walking distance of many restaurants and the metro. The bed was comfortable and the living room was spacious. The apartment is not as well maintained and equipped as it should be. However, we enjoyed our stay.
Adreinne's place is very well located, clean(!), and reasonably priced. Adreinne is pleasant and easy to communicate with, responding very quickly to calls or emails. The apartment is small but comfortable, although a few things are broken (the kitchen sink fixture, burnt out light bulbs, slightly leaky fridge), but Adreinne says the repairs are in the works, so I'm sure these minor things will be fixed soon, at which time I would raise my rating another star.
This apartment did not match up to its description, it was not an acceptable level of cleanliness and tidiness. I had a very negative experience and this review is direct and specific.
There was no clean soap (part of a used bar), no dish washing soap (nor dishwasher), the cupboards were full of stashed junk and light bulbs were missing. I cleaned much of the place before I could feel somewhat comfortable. I could not find any clean sheets for the pullout (there weren't any-things were left a mess) and there were no directions for anything except a scribbled, incomplete note taped to the wall with duct tape.
It seemed as if this was a managed apartment and the cleaner walked out of the job. Laundry was left in the washer and dryer, mops and other items were left around the apartment- it was a mess. When I had trouble with the lock box for the key (I had 3 other people try it with no luck), there was no back up plan and the manager was in Atlanta.
Friday and Saturday night it is LOUD! People come out to party and there were a couple of very loud fights, one followed by 6 gun shots and the arrival of police and medics. Seriously - this was not at all what I expected.
This accommodation was not as advertised and was a big disappointment. The first floor guests (there are 3 apts that are rented out) rented through another company/website and they were equally disappointed and 'felt had' - they did not trust the cleanliness and ate out every meal.
This experience lead me to wonder if there is any quality control through airbnb or other sites- this place needs to be reviewed. This could be a wonderful place-but it needs to be thoroughly cleaned, finished being painted and the ripped pillows and dirty furniture need to be thrown out.
This place needs work, cleaning and appropriate oversight.
We enjoyed our stay at the People's Place 3. The apartment was fully functional, conveniently located, and we felt safe at all times in the neighborhood.
