The space

Beautiful cozy private retreat style home with a wood fireplace nestled in the rain forest of volcano, just 3 miles from the Volcano National Park entrance, just one mile from the volcano village where you find stores and restaurants. There is even a winery and an 18 hole golf course.
We provide all the necessities, such as firewood, laundry soap, muffins and bagels, tea and coffee for your arrival morning. When exploring the near by National Park, we provide, day packs, flashlights, umbrellas and ponchos to help out.
We recommend doing your major grocery shopping in Hilo or Kona as there is only a convenience store in the village.
We don't have the necessities for young toddlers, so at this time it is not suitable for children under 4. Mahalo

Fantastic stay! This place had it all, seriously modern and classy features. The property is located in Volcano, a lovely town that gets you away from the humid heat of other parts of the Big Island. The location is fantastic for for getting to the Volcano National Park and a number of good little restaurants in town. Very clean, very nice fit out amongst a rainforest. Would definitley stay again.

My wife and i stayed at Elizabeth's in order to visit the Volcano Ntnl. Park, it is very central if you want to go up and down to do sone sight-seeing or trekking. The house was super clean, homey and quiet. The fire place makes your nights more comfy and romantic, get a bottle of wine and enjoy those rainy evenings. Absolutely recommend it.

I cannot say enough about this cabin - the pictures do not do it justice. Beautifully appointed - modern and rustic at the same time. The location is ideal for those looking to explore Volcano National Park. We enjoyed building a fire in the wood stove while listening to records during the evenings. Although we were only a short drive to restaurants, it felt like we were a world away in this lovely cabin. We will definitely be looking to stay here in the future.

Mike and Liz's home was absolutely beautiful. It is comfortable, quiet, well-stocked, and extremely close to volcano national park. We enjoyed the grill and the fireplace at night -- so cozy. If we ever visit the Big Island again, we would absolutely try to stay here again. Thank you Mike and Liz for making our stay so easy and comfortable!

This home is beautiful and well taken care of; an absolute steal for anyone looking to have a unique stay on the island. I also felt very safe in this neighborhood. It is only 5 minutes from Volcano National Park (and the park is open 24 hours; go see the lava at night!) and there is also a winery nearby. Elizabeth is very quick to respond if you have questions, and provides everything you might need to enjoy your stay. The back porch is a beautiful spot to sip your coffee in the morning and listen to the birds. I would highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

Elizabeth User ProfileElizabeth is a superhost.

Originally from Canada, I've been living in Kona for over 36 years. I came here for the weather and the outdoor sports. This town is still small enough that you run into friends all over the place. My husband, Michael, and I work hard and try to have fun and enjoy sports when we can. We gain a lot from the 'tourists' as we see through their eyes Hawaii anew all over again. So glad you are coming to the 'BIG ISLAND' ALOHA
