Located in the historic Locust Grove neighborhood in Downtown Charlottesville, this is a two bedroom two and half bath brand new yet quaint two story house. Plenty of natural light and modern conveniences filled with eclectic furniture and vintage accessories. Please note, two shorthair cats also live here and will most likely be here provided you are willing to feed and love. Not a cat person? Ask me about arrangements, but highly allergic people probably should not read further.

Guest room is on the second floor with a comfortable queen size bed (2), a cozy reading area and closet along with a Jack and Jill bathroom with two vanities and a full size tub/shower. The landing is also a nice area to enjoy and spread out into and it has a sleeper/sofa that can accommodate two small kids or an additional adult; there is no door as it is at the top of the stairs so not its own room or as private. The living/dining is in the main area upon entry into the house set up as an open layout style. There is a nice dining table that accommodates four or more with provided leaves; amenities include a 32 inch HDTV, DVD player, several stereos plus turntable with vinyl records available, fully equipped kitchen with blender, juicer, toaster, range/microwave, french press (or coffee maker available upon request) as well as tea accessories, stainless steel refrigerator with water filter system. Less than 3 miles to UVA Grounds and Monticello is less than 5 miles away--about 10 minutes by car. Perfect place for short-term stay with access to C-ville happenings and restaurants downtown, to UVA or a quick ride to the interstate. Location is ideal as its close to downtown without the hussle and bussle. And for those that enjoy nature, there is a section of the Rivanna trail just a block away to hop onto that follows the river and is an easy and peaceful walk in either direction. Please contact me with any questions. No smoking inside and no pets allowed. Again, I do have two short-haired lovable indoor cats. If willing, you can love and feed them or arrangements may possibly be made. Must not be allowed outside.
I also offer the option of sharing the house and renting just the guest room for 1-2 people. This means sharing the kitchen, bathroom and common areas as well during the stay. If interested in such an arrangement, please send me a message to learn more about this option.

Other Things to Note
must realize my two sweet cats will most likely stay on the premises, assuming you are not allergic and don't mind feeding. they are also strictly indoor only cats. typical check in time is 3PM, but inquire if you would like to check in a little earlier. no guarantees but will take on a case-by-case basis.
Check in time is 3PM and check out time is usually by 12PM unless different arrangements have been made between guests and host in advance. If you require something different, just ask and most times I can accommodate you. Guests are not allowed to use the studio/business room off the upstairs landing.
No pets please and no smoking inside. Guests may smoke on the porch and use ashtray provided, (do not throw butts out onto the sidewalk or yard). Full use of the backyard is allowed, but no huge parties please. If you use the grill, clean it. There is a $100 fee for smoking in the apartment, and $50 in cash for lost keys. Bring your own detergent and washer and dryer are available to use.
Cary's home is beautifully and creatively decorated, and she is a wonderful host! We stayed for my son's graduation weekend and it was very comfortable and convenient. Cary left coffee and delicious bagels for us, and a very helpful handbook with details about the house, caring for the cats, and Charlottesville info. Cary is an artist, and thoughtfully left my son a UVA memento that she had made! She was very friendly and quick to respond to texts or emails, and made us feel right at home. Her 2 indoor cats are a sweet and fun bonus - just be sure to keep the doors shut so they don't get out. This was our first Airbnb experience and it was great! We will definitely plan to stay at Cary's again on future trips to Charlottesville.
The House is charming and in a nice neighborhood that was nicely located for our purposes. Just be sure you like cats because there are two indoor cats who stay in the house with you.
Cary was an excellent hostess! She was very communicative and informative before our stay and checked in on us to make sure everything was alright. She has an adorable, eclectic little house. We had a group of four (two couples) for the weekend. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were incredibly spacious. We didn't spend much time in the house since we were on the go all weekend, so we missed out on the chance to hang out on the deck or around the fire pit. Her kitchen appeared well-stocked if you wanted to do some cooking. Cary provided a helpful notebook with house rules and general information and was kind enough to have current information and brochures related to Charlottesville tourism and dining. Iggy and Monkey are sweet, personable kitties that enjoy being petted and looking out the windows. I have never seen cats take to strangers so quickly! The house perfectly suited our needs for the weekend.
Cary may be the nicest hostess ever. We never met in person, but she was extremely accommodating and was easily reachable via phone for any questions. The house is exactly as described; cozy, lots of natural light and has all the modern conveniences you could dream of! Everything was very clean, and beds were very comfortable. Also, plenty of space in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas. We comfortably fit 5 people into her house. The house is close to downtown Cville, but far enough away for a peaceful night. The cats are very friendly and adorable!
Although there was some slight confusion at the onset as to the availability of the space, we very much enjoyed our stay at Cary's. It was a quaint beautiful space with a lovely back yard and was close to the downtown area. Checking in and out was easy. Cary is also very responsive, pleasant and followed through. She was also happy to provide us with recommendation which were very much appreciated.
We spent three nights at Cary's sweet house. It's charmingly decorated & very homey. Cary did a great job communicating with us. It's a great location--super easy access to lots of great spots. And from the house we were able to walk down to the Ravenna Trail for a lovely nature walk. Quiet neighborhood too!
We had a wonderful weekend in Charlottesville that started from the moment we arrived at Cary's wonderful home just outside of downtown. The only hiccup we experienced the whole weekend was when I was unable to open the lock box where Cary had left us the key - this was primarily primarily due to user error :) Being such a great host, Cary quickly returned to the house after getting my call and was able to finagle the lock open and retrieve the key. Fortunately for us it also gave us the opportunity to meet our host which we may not have otherwise.
Cary's home is beautiful and in a great neighborhood within a short drive of downtown and UVA. The house was clean and well decorated with lots of unique decor. Although we spent most of our time out exploring the great Charlottesville locales, we found the home to be a great refuge at the end of a long day. The cats Iggy and Monkey were awesome and very affectionate - Monkey ended up sleeping with us both evenings and barely made a sound.
Without any reservations we would definitely recommend that you check out Cary's listing if you are planning a trip to the Charlottesville region!

About the Host, Cary
I am an artist/photographer and an adventurer at heart (who doesn't get to travel nearly enough as I'd like). When traveling to new places, I love to live like a local--shop for food, cook, explore cafes and restaurants, and stray from the beaten path. When home, I'm a passionate cook, a lover of things green, a yogi, and an aspiring harmonica player. I live as sustainably as I can, play with my two cats as often as I can, meditate when I can, and laugh a lot.
