My friend and I spent three nights in Paradise at Susan's house, steps from the water in Haleiwa. There was a fun couple from Toronto who was renting the ground floor bedroom, while we took the two-bedroom second floor with a separate entrance/exit. It was so peaceful and lovely in the house, with availability for parking as well in the driveway.
I would highly recommend this clean, perfectly placed paradise to all would-be renters. The pictures tell the story, but don't forget to spend time with Susan and Betsy - they are lovely people!
Nice and quiet (apart from a few roosters in the garden) house with easy access to the beach and not far from Haleiwa downtown and harbor. Clean and equipped with everything you need. We especially enjoyed the view from the porch towards the beach! Susan responded quickly to all our questions. Overall: highly recommended for families and small groups.
Great rental. Ideal location and excellent set up. Thank you!
We spent five days here with another couple and truly enjoyed our stay! The beach is accessible via a short walk through the backyard - every day we woke up to the sounds of the ocean (plus the occasional rooster) and enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the lanai...before heading out to the beach! Haleiwa (the amazing and quaint north shore town) is a 10-15 minute walk down the road - tons of places to eat, shop, rent surfboards, etc. We also took full advantage of the beach towels, cooler, and boogie boards that came w/ the rental. We didn't have the chance to meet Betsy or Susan in person - but Susan was quick to reply to any inquiries. Overall the house/location was a perfect match for what we were looking for during our stay on O'ahu. We would absolutely stay here again!
The house was clean and very nice. Susan was there to greet us and very helpful and welcoming. Overall a great place.
This was the perfect place to stay. Susan and Betsy were very helpful. Betsy showed us the beach which is a short distance away. You can hear the waves hitting the shoreline with the front door open! The condo also has a nice outdoor porch to enjoy coffee and conversation in the morning or anytime for that matter.
We enjoyed watching the turtles at the beach in the morning as they awoke to move to the water. The town of Haleiwa is quaint and has a perfect mix of shops and restaurants. We greatly appreciated Betsy's recommendations for dinner options.
The North Shore is a perfect location to explore Oahu and there are many beaches, falls, and parks nearby. We could have easily filled up many more days. The harbor at Haleiwa is the center of activity for multiple water tours as well as the gathering spot for surfers in the morning going out to get the first wave.
Surfers and Writers Paradise has everything anyone might want or need and more than we were able to enjoy in our four day stay. We never used the boogie boards, bicycles or snorkeling equipment provided. But we did use the Bunn coffee pot!
If returning to Oahu and looking to stay on the North Shore, I would absolutely rent from Susan and Betsy again... Five Stars!
The two-bedroom apartment was a great place to stay. It was fun to discover that someone in our party had ties to the hostesses. They were kind and helpful and the beach was beautiful. January wasn't good weather for snorkeling and we didn't see any turtles, but fun to the watch the surfers in the big waves. Loved Haleiwa, shopping and food were nice and close. Didn't get a chance to try it, but I've heard that Opal Thai is awesome. Longs Drug is really cheap for souveniers. Would totally stay here again!
We had a great time at the North Shore. Sharon's apartment is a short walk/drive to the cute town of Haleiwa. The apartment was a good fit for our family of five. It was a treat to wake up to a view of the waves and ocean. We hope to return again in the not too distant future.
We spent 6 days here with another couple. We had a wonderful stay and can't recommend the north shore enough. Our highlights were learning to surf from Uncle Bryan and renting stand up paddle boards for a leisurely paddle up the river. We were able to time our nightly walks along the beach with the honu turtles' arrival every night (we saw a record 16 one night!) and it was an incredible experience. The location of this house was absolutely perfect for us and exactly what we were looking for after having spent 3 days in Waikiki. It should be noted though that there is very little night life in Halei'wa so don't come here looking to have some fun nights out on the town. We went in for dinner a couple of nights but for the most part made ourselves comfortable in the apartment. The apartment itself is exactly as described. There isn't much of a view of the ocean with an unfortunate view of an unsightly barn, but it's a very short walk through a field to get to the beach. As others have mentioned, the roosters can be a little noisy in the morning, but we were so relaxed while there that they didn't bother us. We ran out of toilet paper while there (only 3 rolls were provided) and we weren't provided with any more so I suggest packing an extra roll or two if you are planning an extended stay so that you don't have to buy a big pack while there. There were also a bunch of moving pods in the driveway while we were there which threw us off when we first arrived. It would have been nice to have been aware of this ahead of time only because it made us a little uneasy when we first arrived. Otherwise our stay was absolutely wonderful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others!
Had a great time here. The place was clean and well furnished. Quite neighborhood and close to the beach.
Thank you susan.
