About This Listing
Welcome to Atlanta! You are going to love your stay at my sunny, cheerful bungalow in a superb location.
The first floor is approximately 1000 square feet, with two bedrooms and one bathroom, and an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room. The house has beautiful natural light, hardwood floors, and slate tile throughout! The kitchen has granite countertops, stove/ oven, dishwasher, microwave, and a platinum finish refrigerator, and all the basic cooking supplies. Fresh coffee and creamer and coffee maker provided! The home has fast Wifi internet, streaming netflix, blueray and DVD player, and a 40" flatscreen tv. Every bedroom closet has room for you to unpack and get comfortable, and there is a washer/dryer as well.
The second floor is a real treat! About 800 square feet of spacious master bedroom and en suite bathroom, with a separate jacuzzi tub and standing shower. There is even a quiet porch accessible by french doors off the master, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood and a view of the backyard. The backyard has a dining area for 5, and lounge seating for 4, with a grill and beautiful fencing throughout. A special treat in the springtime is to sit out there with your coffee in the morning, where you can see a dozen different kinds of birds and smell the jasmine and roses!
Old Fourth Ward is a historic neighborhood rich in history and diversity, with a vibrant present; it is rapidly becoming the 'it' neighborhood for young families and professionals.
* If you want history, my home is ~.5 mile from Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birth home, Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the Martin Luther King Museum-- all a must-see in Atlanta!
* If you are looking to explore Atlanta's best neighborhoods, you'll find my home is a hub, and Downtown, Midtown, Virginia Highlands, Cabbagetown, and Inman Park are all 1-2 miles away in each direction.
* If you want nature, you can just walk 2.5 blocks to Freedom Parkway trail, a multi-use green space with miles of biking and walking trails, which connects many parks and neighborhoods, and .75 miles from the new Fourth Ward Historic Park.
* If you want night life, you are just 2.5 blocks from Highland Bakery, Zuma Sushi, Across the Street Mexican Restaurant, P'Cheen, and Jack's Wings and Pizza, and about 1/2 mile from trendy bars on Edgewood, and Inman Park restaurants and shopping.
* And if you want to stay in and cook, Whole Foods, Kroger, and Publix are all under 1 mile away.

Hi there! House rules are pretty simple! I'm only writing these because airbnb now requires it....
Rule number one: Make yourself totally at home! Take a jacuzzi, watch a movie, cook a feast!
Parking: Two parking pads on either side of the house are for your use. You can also park on McGruder Street, as well as on Randolph St, both across the street from my house. Please observe the parking signs.
Thermostat: Feel free to turn the temp up or down at your leisure. But please be considerate! I'm eco-friendly and utilities are very expensive in the home. Please do not select "hold"; that overrides the program and I had a guest who ran the AC one time at 64 degrees for a week straight during the peak of Atlanta summer and broke the whole AC machine (a $3500 replacement that I incurred!)
Cleaning: I don't charge a cleaning fee, so I always greatly appreciate when you leave the house like you found it! Don't worry about making the beds when you leave, as I always strip the sheets.
Kitchen: Feel free to use all appliances and cooking supplies! Help yourself to coffee, creamer, and sugar, oil and spices. But please leave the other food for me! :)
Bathrooms: I set out fresh towels in each bedroom for the guests. Additional towels and linens are in the linen closet on the first floor. Extra toilet paper and paper towels are in the laundry room. Most guests bring their own shampoo/ conditioner, but you can also use the toiletries in the showers.
Security: Make sure to lock up the house when you leave (doors and windows). Also, pre-approved guests are not allowed in the property. Please discuss with me in advance your plans for having any guests visit or stay.
Check-in: Give me a call or communicate via airbnb in advance of your visit to communicate check-in time. I'll meet you at the home and walk you through it!
Check-out: I like to meet my guests for check-out, but if that's not possible, just drop the keys inside the locked mailbox.
That's it! I hope you have a terrific stay.
I had the best stay here!
I rented a room from Alexandra for a week while I was in between places. This is the best location - now I want to live in this neighborhood! You can walk to restaurants and shops, you're steps from the MLK memorial and the beautiful Atlanta Beltline walking trail. It's awesome for anyone visiting ATL!
Alexandra's house is so cute, incredibly clean and just really comfortable and nice. In the evenings, I relaxed on her patio in a secluded backyard - so nice! The house is tastefully furnished and modernized - she has done a great job making it very welcoming! And the bed was really comfortable, I got a great night's sleep every night.
I really enjoyed meeting Alexandra and would recommend her house to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Atlanta!
It was my first experience with airbnb and I feel like I'm going to be disappointed with any further experience... Because staying at Alexandra's was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! A fancy house in an historical and charateristic neighborhood, only 6 minutes by car from downtown (7 bucks by taxi)... Alexandra & Caroline are two kind persons and they're full of suggestion for maximize your stay in Atlanta...
This would definitely be my first choice if I'll ever be back to Atlanta... Recommended!
This was our first airbnb experience and it exceeded expectations. Alexandra's home is beautiful, clean and located in a charming, historic neighborhood. We rented the guest room with queen-sized bed and it was clean, stylish, and comfortable. The rate was very reasonable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!
Alex was my first AirBnB experience and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction. Her fantastic dog might need to warm up to you but once she does she's lovely. Alex herself is as friendly as they come and makes you feel right at home. She lives in the Old Fourth Ward, just minutes from the Martin Luther King Historic Site. She's also an easy walk from Inman Park with its many restaurants and bars. If you're into kitschy/retro stuff and there on a Thursday be sure to check out Trader Vic's, which is just minutes away in the Hilton on Courtland - powerful $6 Mai Tais and a fantastic band!! All in all, Alex is hard to beat. If this was eBay, I'd say A++++
Alexandra was a very gracious, lovely, friendly hostess, giving us valuable information for tours and fun. Alexandra's house is close to many nice places. There is a fabulous bakery just over 3 blocks. If you decide not to rent a car, there are buses going by. It is the place I think of staying in a next trip to Atlanta.

About the Host, Alexandra
Hello! I am a professional in global health, and have lived in Atlanta for five years. I love in-town Atlanta, with its eclectic restaurants, coffee shops, art shows, and range of parks and green spaces all nearby. I am friendly, mature, and responsible- I take excellent care of home and my airbnb guests! I love meeting new visitors, and helping them find all the nearby eateries and entertainment. I've put a lot of work into the home to make it feel like a treat to stay in-- I hope you'll agree! I also hope you'll care for my home when you stay, so that future airbnbers can continue to enjoy it for some time to come.
