Description

The Space

Very Large Studio on the end of Laie Point. Our property is a beautiful location on gated property. This studio has a private entrance and is essentially a separate structure. The studio is attached to our home and shares a wall in the bathroom and kitchen area of the studio. This home sits upon a peninsula that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. We are the home that is second from the end of "the point".

To access the view one walks around my home to our back yard and the ocean side. We have several Adirondack chairs and a terrace to enjoy as well as a small table and chairs (as seen in the cover picture).

After a full day, return and relax on the ocean side lanai while the silvery moonbeams dance on the lapping waves of the Pacific Ocean. November thru April humpback whales visit these waters and are often seen spouting and breaching out of the water.

Beach access is a short walk to the stone staircase cut into the cliff side. Low tide leaves tide pools to explore, or you can swim in the quiet, wave-free shallows. You may often have the beach to yourselves, with only occasional passers-by. Rental also includes use of the boogie boards and snorkel gear on site.

The studio has a Kitchenette with Microwave, Hot Plate, Griddle, Blender, full size fridge and sink. The kitchen is stocked with the dishes, utensils, pans, etc that you may need.

Studio is just up the hill from shopping and local restaurants and less than 1 mile from the famous Polynesian Cultural Center, Hawaii's top tourist attraction and a "must do." BYU-Hawaii, the LDS temple, and Hukilau Beach are easily accessible within Laie. A short drive takes you to pro surfing spots at Sunset Beach or to the pro golf course at Turtle Bay Resort.

Boogie Boards
3 prong Spear
Snorkel Gear
Gas BBQ
Off Street Parking
Sandy Beaches
Great Waves
Mountain hikes to local waterfalls

We rarely interact with guests unless they have questions and seek us out. We are happy to guide and advise about local events, attractions, and areas to enjoy in the ocean.

We live in a quiet neighborhood. Near the end of Laie point. Our location is a draw for tourists due to the view of the windward coast from the edge of the peninsula.

TheBus is just down the street from us on KAM Highway.

There is a movie theater, grocery store, subway sandwiches, pizza hut, taco bell, ice cream/shave ice shop and several other restaurants within walking distance.

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT
Directions
There is only one road that leads into Laie. It is called Kamehameha Hwy. There are several driving options out of Honolulu toward Laie and all of them end up on Kam Hwy.

When you leave the airport you will want to get on the H1 hwy. If you go toward Honolulu (east) you will want to take the LIkeLike hwy exit. If you go toward Waianae (west) you will want to take the H3 "Kaneohe" exit. Both directions get you to the same spot in about the same amount of time. The H3 hwy is more picturesque so if you arrive in the day time I recommend that. If you arrive in afternoon rush hour traffic hours....3-6pm... you may want to take the Like Like (east) route. If you arrive in Morning rush hour (7-9 am) you will DEFINITELY want to take the Waianae/Kaneohe (west) route.

Both routes will take you through tunnels in the Koolau Mountain Range. Each tunnel will take you to the windward side of Oahu. If you are on the H3 you will want to take the Like Like hwy exit. If you take the other route you will already be on the Like Like Hwy. ONce youare on the windward side of the LLike LIke stay to the right and take the Kahekili Hwy Exit. The Kahekili Hwy will eventually turn into the Kamehameha Hwy. You will drive through several stop light while you are on the Kahekili Hwy in the city of Kaneohe. Stay Straight. Kahekili turns into Kam Hwy as you leave Kaneohe. . . Stay on Kam Hwy until you get into Laie. Each town is assigned a two digit code so watch for the first two numbers on mailboxes to approach 55.

As you come into Laie you will see some Tiki Carvings on the left side of the road and you will notice the Polynesian Cultural Center as well. Keep going....almost there!

In Laie there is only one stop light. At that light you can turn into the shopping center parking lot (left) or turn up a hill (right). Turn up the hill on ANEMOKU Street. At the top of the hill turn RIGHT onto NAUPAKA street. You will be driving toward the ocean. The Oceanfront Vista Grande is near the end on your right. A long white wall/gate marks the entrance. Push the gate open and pull in. WE are the second house from the end of the street on the right hand side. Please park between the studio and the gate.

When you arrive let us know what kind of activities you are hoping to experience and we will do all we can to facilitate a FANTASTIC experience for you in Hawaii.

We do have the following for your use....
Snorkel Gear,
Boogie Boards,
Beach Towels,
3 prong spear

The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans dishes, etc.

There is a full size fridge in the studio.
We also provide Shampoo, Conditioner, soap etc....

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to enjoy our ocean side terraces and Koi pond. The space is a great place to have breakfast and watch the whales (Oct-May) swim by. At times there may be other guests in the neighboring property that also use the oceanside space. The Studio has an outdoor patio area directly in front with a table and chairs. There is a space next to the patio area to park your car. Next to the studio is the storage area for our bikes, and our recycling. Rubbish is kept on the other side of the property.
