A great weekend getaway from the city, and close enough to good hiking locations and quaint towns, but far enough away to be relaxing and serene. Very private.
Precisely as listed - cabin was very recently renovated - all-new kitchen, brand-new grill.
Overall, a great weekend getaway! The grounds are breathtaking, the cabin is cozy and clean, and Bob was a very gracious host. Our dog had a blast running around the grounds and swimming in the lake. The fire pit was a lot of fun. I would suggest bringing supplies to cook or bbq meals as the kitchen is well-stocked and brand new and restaurants in the area are limited. If you need to order, the chinese take-out menus on top of the fridge are pretty good! Also, don't forget supplies for s'mores and extra newspaper for starting the campfire (closest store is Pete's Mini Mart off 17B). We highly recommend Bob's cabin #1!
We had a great time...everything we expected. Hubby looooved the fire pit and we especially enjoyed exploring the woods. Great place for a break from everything else....oh and the bakery, AMAZING!!! Can't even articulate the experience and people who love this community....thank you Bob for you hospitality!
We had a wonderful time for our weekend get-away. Robert was very welcoming, and he made sure to make us comfortable and happy. The cabin was even better than we thought it was going to be, everything was new inside and very clean. We would definitely return, especially as Robert said he is improving and expanding his properties.
Overall we had a good time. I could see this being a great place to have a lot of people and rent both cabins. We had everything we needed. We actually brought more than we needed with us. It was a cooler weekend so we didn't spend a lot of time at the lake but it was nice to sit near the water. The fire pit was great.
We stayed in Cabin #1 for a short weekend away from the city. The land is beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. Our dog and baby were able to run around to their hearts desire. Bob was easy to communicate with and answered our questions. We took a drive to Narrowsburg which is awesome and right on the Delaware River.
large yard in the middle of the 2 cabins. Great for games, run around, etc.
Nice deck with picnic table
Beds are comfortable
Shower (no tub) has great pressure
Very cute playground across the street
the Bakery across the street is literally one of the coolest family run businesses i've encountered--and so delicious
Plenty of fire wood in the woods (just gotta collect it)
Cabin is smaller than we expected--no living area just a kitchen and 2 bedrooms off it.
Our cabin was short or missing basic supplies: we only had 1 fork, no regular drinking cups, no dish soap to name a few (fortunately we were able to borrow a few forks from the other cabin once they checked in)
Propane tank must be rented and they are expensive--and if you're just going for the weekend there is no way you would use the entire tank for just 2 days.
Cabin is settled right off a main road and so we could hear cars and loud trucks go by (and they tend to drive loud and fast!)
The lake is further than we expected--a good 10 min walk through the woods then across the street.
There were cute Tiki torches on the deck but we had to buy fuel for them and just another cost to the weekend.
Overall, we still had a great time, but as we're hosts with several properties we were a little disappointed by the lack of TLC and attention to the small things. We would go back but only if were staying longer and could justify the work of renting a propane tank, bringing all the necessary supplies, etc.
We had a fantastic visit to Mint Cabin #1. This was a perfect AirBnB experience for my first trip! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking materials. This cabin has two bedrooms and a kitchen. The deck also provides great space to relax. The cabin was clean and linens were provided to us for our stay. The lake front is a short walk from the cabin and includes boats and lawn chairs for relaxing. The bakery is a MUST visit! It is amazing and only open on the weekends.
Robert was a great host and is very attentive if you need anything or have a question for him, he's available. We fished and boated on the lake and Robert provided us with oars and fishing rods. I am defnitely recommending a stay at Robert's cabins to everyone I know interested in getting away for the weekend.
We do have one tip. As noted in the description, you must buy your own propane tank for the grill. There weren't many spots to buy a propane tank in Lake Huntington so we had to drive to Narrowsburg about 20 minutes away. If you're already driving through there on the way to the cabin be sure to stop and grab gas before getting there!
