  • Andrew was a prompt respondent in the booking process and put me at ease. James was a terrific host, full of suggestions and practical advice. My family definitely appreciated the personal touch he shared. The space was just right for our family, with two teens in the mix. The location is also ideal, especially during the Jazz festival. We would definitely stay in our return visits.

  • Great for Festival season -- location, location, location. A cozy, well-appointed studio, comfy, air-conditioned living and sleeping area, with a huge TV and all necessities. Off an alley and upstairs in the heart of downtown Quartiér de Spéctacles, many neighborhood bars and restos, nearby bakery and grocery, créperie and metro. James and Andrew were helpful and available, with coffee and advice. Two thumbs up.

  • Andrew is an excellent host. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient to the heart of downtown Montreal. I would definitely stay here again.

  • We had very good experience with Andrew's apartment in our first visit to Montreal. The unit is right located in the downtown area and it's less than 2 minutes from the subway entrance. Quartier de Spectacles and major shopping spots as well as 24-hour supermarkets are right at the corners with very accessible bus on the Sheabrooke Street for our way up to the Mount Royal and McGill University.

  • The apartment was great. Pretty much just as pictured but no bed frame anymore. It was the perfect location for me and what I needed to do in town. The place is very clean and simple. Andrew/James were super accommodating with last minute check in/out changes. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone else in need.

  • Andrew & James were very welcoming for our stay in Montreal, both before we arrived and during our stay. Andrew was careful to let me know all the information that I needed to find the place and coordinate when I would get in and leave.

James met my wife & I at the door when we arrived and immediately helped us find an inexpensive place to park at a garage across the street. I also appreciated that he helped carry our bags up to the 2nd floor studio.

When we got upstairs, James explained all the amenities to us very clearly and made us feel at home. The place was great - it looked just like advertised, and was very affordable. Probably the best part was the location, since it is right near most all the best things to do in the city, and very accessible to public transportation. Andrew & James left maps in the studio, which were helpful.

Perhaps the only issue was that our first night there some people were hanging out in the parking lot outside of the building late at night, and talking loudly. But that was only one night; the other nights it was fine.

Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would definitely do it again, if I were staying either by myself or with one other person.

  • The owners were very friendly and flexible on the check in times. The location is fantastic - an easy walk to many different parts of the city! The apartment itself was clean, a little small (it is a studio in the middle of Montreal after all) - but a much nicer experience than staying at a hotel. It's also quiet for being in the middle of town. We will definitely be back - thanks guys.

    Response from Andrew:

electricity is working fine ..just mentioned ..with all the new electrical things etc it pays to pay attention ...and the picture of the building is there it is old .and as for the bed we have removed bed frames and small dressers to make cleaning easier ..the new bed is actually higher than the old one which lots of people think the ikea bed was too low to get in and out of .
well thanks any and all suggestions are always welcome
    have a great summer

  • The location of the apartment is perfect, only 2 blocks away from the Place des Arts, 5 minute walk to the Latin Quartier and 10 minute walk to Old Montreal. The apartment is beautiful and modern, with lots of light, and very clean. It's very comfortable for two people. It has excellent WiFi and cable TV, and has all the necessary kitchen utensils. James is an awesome host, always there to answer questions and help you out. Super recommendable!

About
Hi I am the owner of montreaminbakl and i would like to tell you that I moved to Canada and especially montreal because i love the city. I enjoy its shows because i am into music and can play a few instruments. I enjoy nature and the city and montreal has both. I am interested in many different things and montreal seems to have them all . I am from korea and i am an avid gym fan i go almost every day . If you want to be in a central location where all the shows are thats my place i am three minutes from many festivals like Jazz, Gag and the movie festival. We are right beside the opera house and one block from the upstairs jazz bar. The main shopping area is less than a five minute walk . Just remember is you are a bigger group me and my spouse do live in the apt ..thanks
