Few would disagree that we live in the best neighbourhood in the world!
One block from lively Commercial Drive, 1 furnished bedroom in top floor of older house is available for short to long-term rental.
**Update: For October and November, we are seeking a subletter, but are willing to consider shorter term stays if the right person is not found.**
Share bathroom, kitchen, and living and dining rooms along with fig tree-shaded patio area and gardens. Kitchen is fully equipped. Washer & dryer and wireless internet included.
The house is handy to the Drive's eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, clubs, and shops, but you'll also be able to easily get anywhere else in the city via public transit including the Skytrain, the #20 bus or via the bike routes. On the way home, stop at local produce stands and full service groceries to buy what you need to prepare meals or check out any number of excellent, affordable restaurants.
About us: We are a shared house of three awesome, powerful, creative, easygoing women who love bringing communities together over food, music and doing good things for the world. And... Fred the cat.
Hilary is a 30 something writer and marketing director. She rides her bike, does yoga, cooks her own food and grows some as well.
**Update: Hilary is subletting her bedroom for October and November and will be taking Fred with her.**
Fiona is a 30 something teacher and amateur herbalist. When not making the home a cozy place for friends and friends-of-friends, she's enjoying live music, dancing with friends or coordinating volunteers for environmental organizations.
Colleen is 30 something journalist and editor. She plays softball, is learning banjo and loves to go camping. She cycle commutes all year round and loves cooking.
We love meeting new people and sharing our wealth of knowledge about the secret little nooks and crannies of this city. Find a blog post Hilary wrote with some fave spots by searching "Top Vancouver restaurants, cafes for lovers of fine foods and five-senses experience".
This home was just as described, charming! The people living in the house were kind and helpful, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it was great to have use of the kitchen as well. We were there for 3 nights and though we were out and about busy most of the days, we were very happy to come back to such a cozy place. The location is ideal, close to great restaurants and shops as well as a quick easy train ride to down town. We really appreciated a safe place to leave our car as we explored. Commercial is only a block away and is a happening street but the noise ceases at a reasonable time every night so it is enjoyable and then no worries for sleeping. We slept great every night. We would highly recommend this to anyone exploring Vancouver!
This home is perfectly located in one of vancouver's best neighborhoods ! It had old house charms and quirks, and though Hilary was away when we stayed, she was helpful and communicative through the booking process and her roommate Fiona was super sweet. Had a bit of a gulf islands feel :)
