Stay at a Superhost's retreat house. A unique and private getaway, this is the place for you. It's the last house on the road and sits at the foot of a small mountain with amazing views all around. Decompress with endless desert views during the day and gaze at the Milky Way at night. BBQ on the side patio. Light a fire in the fireplace and have a cozy evening after a day in the National Park or sit outside by the warmth of the fire pit.

Just 8 minutes to the Joshua Tree Village downtown shops and restaurants and 15 minutes to the main Park entrance. Very convenient and private for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. The Joshua Tree Village Downtown has a wide variety of unique and locally owned shops and eateries. Check my visitor guide or ask me for local insider recommendations. I've got a list of interesting things to do in the area other than visiting the National Park. I can also hook you up with massage therapists or caterers for extra special treats.

Possible holiday minimum night stay required: 3 nights minimum for Labor Day, Easter and Memorial Day weekends; 4 nights minimum for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve.

Guest access

Kitchen is fully equipped with cooking gear, electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, bean grinder, French press, blender, toaster, and other small appliances. Evaporative cooler (swamp cooler) for summer and quiet electric baseboard heating.

Outdoors is the fire pit, BBQ, hammock under the shady trees, 2 patios, lounging chairs, and a private trail up the mountain for your exploration of a large area of BLM land.

Interaction with guests

I can meet with you for a personal welcome and house tour. The house and property is all yours. I'm always available if you have any questions.

The neighborhood

It's a quiet, private and secluded area. Even though it's only a few minutes to downtown Joshua Tree, you'll feel like you're in you're very own part of the desert.

Desert enthusiast, photographer, creative person and Joshua Tree hugger. I am a local full-time resident and I love the Joshua Tree area. I personally rehabbed, restored, decorated and lived in the homes that I now offer to you for a true locals experience. I'm involved in most of the local community activism, working to preserve the JT rural community character. Staying at my places helps support my volunteer time spent on various projects in the community. A few of the things that I've been involved with are that I've served 4 years on the board of the JT Chamber of Commerce as president and have organized the local Vacation Rentals Association. During the years that I've lived in Joshua Tree I've been discovering and exploring the many hidden gems, fascinating locations and history of the area known only to locals. I'll gladly make recommendations about the many things to enjoy locally. If you're interested in the more off-the-beaten path adventure I can help you with that. Personalized tours may also be possible depending on my availability. Contact me if you have any questions.
