About This Listing
Stay in the very heart of Nørrebro, only few minutes walk to the central lakes and 10 min. from the centre, in the most “Berlinish” street of Copenhagen. A pedestrian, multicultural street with lots of cafés and alternative type of restaurants and shops, near public transportation. The perfect place to be to explore the wonders of this city.
THE APARTMENT (4th floor)
Has 4 rooms, a big kitchen, bathroom (small but functional) and a huge balcony.
2 rooms facing the street (my living room and bedroom/study).
2 rooms facing a big green yard overviewing the roofs of Copenhagen, both for rent.
Once I rented out the whole apartment during a agency, they described it as "Bohemian". If they by that meant, colorful and artistic with sense of creating beauty for little money, they where right.
This is the add for the biggest. (But if you are looking for a place for more people you can book both. Just look for G1 Blågårdsgade Balcony at the right side of this page).
The room is aproxx. 16 sqm. It contains a 120cm bed, broad enough for two people who like each other - but I can also add a mattress on the floor, if you prefer that. There are a table and chairs and a build-in closet with space for your things.
Wi-fi, bed linen, towels. I don´t serve breakfast, but you can buy things to eat here or go to one of the numerous cafés in the street.
You can also use the kitchen, and If I am home and we feel like it, we might cook something together and divide the expenses (I´m known to be a pretty skilled chéf) - but no promises - and no obligation :)
You can also borrow iron & board, hair dryer and umbrellas for a rainy day. Use my shower gel, shampoo and conditioner if you want to travel light.
If you arrive at the airport, take the metro to Forum (15 min). From there it´s a quick 7-10 min walk away.
If you arrive at the Main Station, you take 5A towards Husum Torv.
(Closer details are provided upon booking, in the confirmation email.)
If you come by car it can be difficult to find a vacant parking space in the streets, but there is a 24h parking house in absolute proximity.
If I´m not at home when you arrive, I will find a solution so you can get settled safely.
First of all I´m a singer/actor - an addict to my senses - and at the same time with a pretty good logical mind. I love music, theatre- to sing and dance....to cook, eat and drink wine in the company of good people.
I also like to travel and meet new people.
If you stay in my house - I expect us to be sensible to the fact, that we are sharing a moment in life with a person, that could be someone we would like to share a lot with - or maybe a little. Both is all right!
I will do my best to make your stay a good experience - and I hope you will be nice to my home.
I expect you to treat my home with love, and that you are quiet, if you come home late at night.
I love my kitchen - and that my kitchen tools work well. Therefore please wash all sharp objects, kitchen knives, graters, etc by hand. They loosen their sharpness in the dishwasher. You are welcome to cook here, but my kitchen is also my dining room, so if I'm there, you have to eat in your room - unless I invite you to sit down.
If it's raining outside - please take off your shoes.
Leave the bathroom door open when you have taken a shower, so the moisture can get out properly. There´s only a small ventilation shaft out there.
You you want to smoke, you are very welcome outside on the balcony.
location, my room, kitchen and her... everything was great. I really had a lovely time in this place. Gitte has a great sense to decorate her house.
Also, she had answered my questions very quickly since I decided to stay her house. That made me very relaxed to visit to CPH.
If I have another chance to visit CPH, I would definitely ask to stay her house as my 1st choice!
Gitte has proven to be a great host, who knows and loves Kopenhagen. She takes time to advise her guests as well as being very enthousiastic about the neighbourhood. I can only recommend her strongly! Situated in the best alive area of Kopenhagen, we could not have picked a better place.
We had a perfect stay in Copenhagen. Gitte was travelling for that weekend, but perfectly organised everything in advance. We felt very welcome in her beautiful home ( a mixture of vintage and scandinavian design ) with a beautiful kitchen. The bathroom is a bit small, but it works well for a weekend. Her daughter was there to say hello and help in case of any questions . The apartment is very well situated, with cosy cafés (a very good Vegetarian restaurant, next door) , some more restaurants and a bakery just at the doorstep. Perfect surroundings for a City Trip in Copenhagen. Perfect location to walk around or take the bus or metro into the city centre. Lively neighborhood with young people but we still had a good sleep, because the apartment was to the back side of the building. Thanks a lot , Gitte vor hosting us in your home.
What an amazing apartment. Lovely room - nice kitchen - perfect balcony. What a great part of Copenhagen too. Once I rented a bike (a couple of shops nearby - also the city has a bike rental thing at Forum metro station) I could make it everywhere - though so much is close by.
It's a very nice and light room with a lot of sun in the morning. It is possible to sit next to the window and enjoy the sunlight. When we arrived Gitte welcomed us with some tips for sightseeing and nice places to eat. She borrowed us a map and a Lonely Planet to get directions and find places go to. Gitte was helpfull and hospitable.
The room is located in Nørrebro, a lovely neighborhoord with a lot of shops, bars and places for breakfast/coffee. It was our favorite part of the city. By bike, it is less than 10 minutes to the city centre.
Gitte and her home are BOTH beautiful! I had the most wonderful experience in Copenhagen - made only better by Gitte's kindness and hospitality! I was made to feel at home and she had wonderful advice about where to go and what to see. The flat is ideally located in the most fun, funky and trendy part of Copenhagen... It was magical!
I truly believe that the universe provides you with what you need and the people that you need, even when you unconsciously seek them. I had such a lovely time at Gitte's, she is a warm and friendly person who likes to have a good laugh and she is also an amazing cook! (you can consider yourself privileged if she cooks for you).
Her apartment is warm, light and filled with artwork from generations of talented musicians and artists. It is ideally located in an area close to the metro, trendy cafes, shops and not far from the lakes and the centre of Copenhagen. There is a really nice vegetarian cafe just below and Gitte will eagerly point out to you the best places to eat in her local area. Do yourself and your soul a favour and stay with Gitte.

About the Host, Gitte
Hi out there. What to tell you about me?
First of all I´m a singer/actor - an addict to my senses - and at the same time with a pretty good logical mind. I love music, theater - to sing and dance....to cook, eat and drink wine in the company of good people.
I live in a old working class area of Copenhagen - a mixture of the original habitants , students, immigrants and artists. I´ve been here since 1986 - I love the place - and I might never leave it :-) Apart from the summer months - I spend them in my little "out of town house", surrounded by flowers and friends.
So if you rent a room in my house in the summer, I might only see you to give you the keys of the apartment. I trust that you will take good care of my home - just as I will do my very best to leave your house just like I found it - if I´m a visitor at your place.
I think this private rental across boarders is a great idea. Lets honor it by taking good care of each others homes - and enjoy all the advantages it brings to all of us curious, adventures people.
If you stay in my house - or I in yours - I expect us to be sensible to the fact, that we are sharing a moment in life with a person, that could be someone we would like to share a lot with - or maybe a little. Both is all right!
