We have a beautiful 1906 4-Bedroom home located in the Alberta Arts District bordering the Alameda neighborhood with its views of downtown and gorgeous tree-lined streets to explore. Our home is also three blocks from Alberta Street full of premiere restaurants and fun boutiques. Also less than two blocks from the Sabin Triangle with Pok Pok Noi, Grain & Gristle, Extracto Coffee, Tiga Lounge, BeaconSounds Records, Bottle Shop, & Drum Shop. We are also six blocks from Whole Foods. Oh, and one block from the Sabin Hydropark Playground & Community Garden. Its a wonderful progressive neighborhood with access to anywhere you need to be!
We are a friendly and funny (well at least I hope so) family that consists of myself, my partner, our 5 year old son Miro, our cat Irie and our five chickens that live in the backyard. We love to garden, cook, make art, hang out, explore and simply enjoy life. We can easily keep to ourselves and we can easily open our arms. We do tend to live on the laid-back side of life as being mellow nurtures my soul.
The guest room is full of character and simplicity. There are beautiful built in's and wainscoting throughout. Back in the golden days it must have been an office! There are two large windows that overlook the neighbors colorful garden. It also has its own private entrance! It leads you onto the back deck into the garden. There is a cozy new bed that would comfortably sleep two. We are kid-friendly so we hope you are too!
Our kitties are never allowed in the guest room so if you have allergies no need to worry as you have a safe zone! They are both short haired, very mellow, and listen well.
Also we are right next to the buslines that can take you all over Portland. Fast wireless internet throughout the house. We enjoy nightly roaring fires & home cooked goodies. Mellow yet cheery is the balance we live-in.
This was our first time using airbnb for a shared space, so I was a little apprehensive. Heidi, Joshua and Miro were incredible. I was traveling with my four year old for a fun getaway, and by far, his favorite part of the trip were our hosts and the time spent with them. I felt completely at home and at ease with them as well. The space was comfortable and welcoming, and Heidi and Joshua were prepared to offer whatever they could to make our stay more enjoyable. My little one still talks about Miro, and how much he'd like to return for a visit. I'm sure we'll be back!
Heidi, Joshua and Miro are wonderful hosts and havebeautifully restored their old Craftsman home in a unique old neighborhood in Portland. The room is large and filled with little quirky nooks and crannies so characteristic of Craftsmen houses and dominated by a large toasty fireplace in the livingroom. They are friendly and gracious, offering me tea after I arrived and chatting about Portland and my trip. My two cats were happy to stay there, and the two resident felines were polite as well. I would totally recommend this as an opportunity to stay in an old Portland community filled with character homes and views of the city in a comfortable, cozy room.
