The Space

La Fortuna Suites is located just off the main streets of downtown La Fortuna, Costa Rica. A small town bustling with fun, and said to be the adventure capital of the world!

At La Fortuna Suites you’ll find the most comfortable Memory Foam beds in Costa Rica, 400 thread count Egyptian Cotton linens, custom designed furniture, stylish accommodations, 40' T.Vs, Netflix, WiFI, your own kitchenette, and a friendly concierge. We also serve a complimentary breakfast each morning. We have four fashionable apartments, each with a maximum occupancy of two adults. Each suite includes a queen sized bed in the bedroom, a futon in the living space, and a kitchenette.

If you've ever visited Costa RIca before, then you'll really appreciate how stylish and comfortable La Fortuna Suites is.

We like to provide our guest with the very best we have to offer. There are lots of great budget conscience places to stay in La Fortuna, but most of the more comfortable hotels are far away from town. We bridge the gap. La Fortuna Suites is for the traveler that likes to be in the middle of it all, and appreciates a little luxury. We're just steps away from the city. & minutes away from all the fun that the Arenal/ La Fortuna area has to offer: rafting, horseback riding, hiking, hot springs, zip-lining, etc.

If you're coming to La Fortuna this year, stay at La Fortuna Suites... You'll be glad you did.

  • Ian has just taken over recently at La Fortuna Suites and I think you will be very pleased with him as we were. He made an awesome welcoming shake and that really was great for a weary traveler. We came to the Arenal area with our activity schedule wide open and he really helped us schedule a kayaking trip and make multiple phone calls to make sure that we had everything set to go. Made it a lot easier for us for sure! The rooms have really nice beds and lots of space which was great for us. The cool part was having Netflix and Apple Tv and if you have Apple devices then you can even log in. :-) I highly recommend Ian and his establishment and make sure you go eat at one of the local sodas, they are great!

  • Our stay could not have been more perfect. Robert and Jessy are warm, welcoming, insightful, helpful, and exactly what you would look for in a host. Perks: the welcome smoothies live up to expectations and even if you are a 'make plans on a whim' type like we can be, you will feel like you are in extremely good hands.

Great location, well maintained, delicious breakfast, and lots of attention to detail!

Thanks so much and best wishes!!

  • My boyfriend and I loved staying here. The bed was so comfortable and the welcome smoothies were amazing! Breakfast was just perfect. Robert and Jesse were great hosts. They helped us figure out our activities everyday and gave great recommendations as to where to eat. Buddy was also the best dog to have around. We will miss him!

  • Great place just off the main streets in La Fortuna. A short 2 to 3 block walk to most things in this quaint town. We would definitely stay here again, as Jesse and Robert worked together to make us feel very welcomed and comfortable. They also made a great breakfast every morning, and were full of information for the different trips and places we hoped to visit. This was a favorite on our trip and had the most comfortable beds of the five places we stayed. Highly recommended!

  • The lodge is beautiful and modernly decorated with a breathtaking view of Arenal volcano from the deck (on clear days). The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast - fresh fruit, eggs, bread, coffee/tea, juice - was always delicious. Bob and Jesse were great hosts, eager to help us whenever we had a question or need. It was a fantastic place to start our Costa Rican honeymoon adventure!

  • This was our favorite spot by far! Robert and Jessey were fabulous hosts, from the very start greeting us after our dusty long ride with fresh squeezed mango juice. The rooms were airy, the bed was tempurpedic (!) and the living room opened up to a huge terrace with a breathtaking view of the volcano. And Buddy! Buddy! Buddy! He was the sweetest chihuahua that you'd ever want to hide in your suitcase! We'll definitely come back!

  • La Fortuna Suites is a great place to stay while visiting Fortuna. Robert and Jessy are fantastic hosts. They helped us with our itinerary of activities, including booking. Breakfast was great, the rooms were fantastic (with apple tv + netflix + ac + tempurpedic/memory foam beds). I'd go back in a heartbeat.

  • Robert and Jessy were great hosts and the property is the perfect location. My girlfriend and I spend 3 nights here and we were very impressed. We were walking distance to places to eat and the necessities in La Fortuna. We were also a quick drive to the zip lining, waterfalls, and other attractions around Arenal. We spent most of our days exploring and doing excursions and loved that we could come back to the comfortable suite and relax. It was very modern and had those modern comforts that were great compared to some of the other places that we stayed in while in Costa Rica. Also having a huge breakfast prepared for us each morning and eating on the deck watching the clouds roll over the volcano were a great touch. Overall, we loved our stay here and we would highly recommend it.

About
La Fortuna Suites is owned and operated by the Aspinall Henry family, Costa Rican-Canadians with additional ties to California. Our history in Arenal began when my great-grandfather came to the area in the 1970’s, to initiate the project which built the large earth-fill dam across the Arenal River, to produce hydroelectric power on behalf of ICE, the government run electricity provider. During the late 1980’s my father, John Aspinall, one of the pioneers in tourism in Costa Rica, began promoting this area and bringing tourists to experience the wonders of the active volcano, as well as the amazing beauty that abounds here. Having recently returned to my home country, I am excited to be at La Fortuna Suites, where I can share with others my passion for nature, adventure, and the great beauty of the central valley. We're located in the town of La Fortuna. A 2 min walk from the church in the center of town. & 5 min from the bus station. There are lots of great hostels and budget conscious places to stay in La Fortuna, but most of the nicer places are far away from town. You're stuck out there once you're at your hotel. La Fortuna Suites is for the traveler that wants access to the city, & wants to come back to a space that reminds them of home. There are tons of things to do near by: white water rafting, zip-lining, horseback riding, hiking, rappelling, hot spring spas etc. In fact, the Arenal/ La Fortuna area is known as the "Adventure capital of the world!" After a day of adventure, relax & watch a movie on Netflix on a 40" screen. you can even make a snack in your own private kitchenette. Or, get something delivered from one of the restaurants near by. Enjoy the afternoon, taking in views of the Arenal Volcano, & having a drink on our spacious deck. At the end of the day, you'll sleep better than anyone in Costa Rica on a Memory foam mattress imported from the U.S., & 400 thread count Egyptian cotton linens. We also serve a complimentary breakfast each morning, & can book any tours you have interest in. A little abut the building: It was an apartment building with a bad reputation in a nice part of town. We bought it, put in 8 months, & a lot of dollars in renovations. It's worlds away from what it looked like we first saw it! Check out the progression on that other site. The (website hidden) thing, that's not this site. (Airbnb will not allow me to type the name).
