About This Listing
No charge for second guest!!! Come and stay in our cosy double room in Hove overlooking the courtyard. Very comfortable bed with freshly laundered sheets and lots of wardrobe space. Share huge walk in shower with just one other room. Beach 7 minutes
The room available is on the first floor of a lovely recently refurbished Victorian house in Poets Corner in Hove. The bedroom is south facing and overlooks the courtyard. There is a double bed in this room but we like to make it clear that the room isn't huge and there is only space for one bedside cabinet. We are happy to take two people if you feel you can manage and there is loads of wardrobe space and cupboard space and a small desk. You'll also get freshly laundered cotton bed linen.
We have a fast wireless connection which you are welcome to use, we provide all your towels and there's a hair dryer too so that should save some room in your suitcase.
We offer a breakfast of toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee and this is included in the price and is served between 8am and 10am. There are also tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
There is a large modern bathroom with walk in shower which is shared with one other person.
You'll find loads of shops and cafes in walking distance from the house and some really good pubs offering great food. We are about seven minutes walk down to the beach and a bus from the end of the road takes you into central Brighton in ten minutes and stops right in the middle of the Lanes. If you're feeling energetic you can walk along the seafront in about 30 minutes.
You can get a train into London from Hove station and the journey takes about an hour. If you bring your car we can give you a day permit for £2.60 which is what we have to pay for them.
We have one dog and one cat so you'll need to like animals. Neither of the animals will come into your room unless you leave the door open in which case you may come home to find a cat asleep on your bed! We love having guests to stay so look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR EXTRA GUESTS AFTER THE FIRST ONE.
There is no use of the kitchen without prior arrangements
Interaction with Guests
As much as they'd like
We have some great local pubs serving great food and music. It's a short walk to the beach and a short bus ride into central Brighton and a short bus ride to the South Downs.
Yes, buses from the end of the road go directly into central Brighton and the Lanes. Takes about ten minutes and they run regularly including night times.
Other Things to Note
This is a difficult one but has to be said. I'm not really happy if my guests lie in bed until noon and then spend the next two hours eating breakfast. This is my private home and I have friends for lunch and this can be difficult if I have guests still eating breakfast at lunchtime.
Please always make sure not to leave the front door open to keep the dog safe.
Merci!
My parents enjoyed staying in your beautiful house :) Thank you very much Nix for your hospitality.
Nix made us feel at home.
She has a lovely place, with plenty of natural light.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and the location is great.
We went to many places Nix suggested and love them all.
We'll highly recomend staying at Nix's comfortable house, we had a wonderfull time there.
A cosy and well decorated room with an extremely comfortable bed and an excellent modern bathroom. Nix is a very welcoming and friendly host. We especially enjoyed having breakfast out in the sunny garden each morning! I would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Brighton and Hove.
We were given a very warm welcome all through our stay
Lovely comfortable, cosy room, ideal for our purpose.
With a nice suprise of a breakfast provided, which was provided for our convenience even though it was early and interfered with Nix's routine
My friend and I stayed at NIx's place when we visited brighton last weekend and we absolutely loved it! She was really lovely and helpful and provided us with breakfast every day. The room exceeded our expectations, too, a cosy cute room, just what you need for a nice weekend away. We took the bus everyday to get into the city an the beach and it never took longer than 10 mins. Whenever we are going to Brighton, we will stay with nix again :)
Thank you Nix for your hospitality. It was a very good stay, your room is very nice.

About the Host, Nix
I retired down to Hove having lived in London for most of my life. I love walking over the downs with the dog and along the seafront, also with the dog. In the summer we both go in the sea for a dip but neither of us much like swimming. I'm very keen on photography and I love gardening though I only have a small courtyard garden here in Hove. I usually have one of my two grown up God children staying with me which I love.
