Jim and Rachel were ideal host...so very welcoming and helpful. Their home is just as the pictures show. A gorgeous penthouse that puts you in the perfect location for a trip to Chicago. Their home is extremely clean and comfortable. Erica and I were blessed to have stayed with Jim, Rachel and their dog Pangie and would highly recommend their home if you are traveling to the Chicago area!!
Our stay at Jim and Rachel's place was fantastic – lovely people and good quality penthouse – clean and welcoming. We found Jim to be an outstanding and perfect host. Rachel was there for only one evening but a lovely warm person. We had our own stylish bathroom and we even had chocolates left on our pillow alongside maps and suggestions of places to eat/visit etc. It is a beautiful penthouse with great views. Buses on the door step we caught every day. Train station just 2 blocks away. Will definitely stay there again during our next visit and would highly recommend this address to all. P.S. If you are charming enough Pangi will accept you. Linda & George
Jim and Rachel's place was in a perfect location to get to the sea aquarium, the field museum and the train station. Their place was very clean, spacious and perfect for our stay. Jim was lovely and we pretty much had the place to ourselves due to his work schedule. We didn't get to meet pengi or Rachel as they were away on our dates. We had our own bathroom and we even had chocolates left on our pillow alongside maps and suggestions of places to eat/visit etc. Both were lovely extras. Overall we had a great time in Chicago and would not hesitate to recommend this place to stay! Will definitely stay here again if we come back.
Jim and Rachel were great hosts. Courteous, friendly, helpful and polite. They have a beautiful, modern condo in the South Loop. The South Loop is buzzing, with many new restos, cafes and bars within walking distance of their apartment. The location is ideal for accessing downtown Chicago (easy walk to the El and bus lines, and easy access to taxis in front of their apartment).
We had a quick overnight stop in Chicago on our way back from a west cost trip and could not believe our luck in getting to stay with Jim and Rachel. The place is awesome great location and wonderful accommodation. Jim was gone but we had the opportunity to spend a little time with Rachel. She was just awesome and very kind and welcoming. If you are in town this is the place to be great place and even better hosts.
Staying with Jim and Rachel was fantastic. First and foremost, they are wonderful people and just generally nice to be around. Their apartment is fantastic. It is clean, beautiful and full of light. Having coffee each morning on the terrace in the sun, surrounded by plants was so relaxing. They provided us with coffee, tea, oatmeal and granola so we were able to easily start our day at our own pace without having to rush out to find breakfast. Our room and bathroom were perfectly setup and clean as can be (and even had a guide book with info on their apartment and things to do around town). I highly recommend staying with them. They will make you feel so welcome and comfortable. Their dog Panji is also an added bonus we thoroughly enjoyed! If you're visiting Chicago, stay with them. You will not be disappointed!
amazing place....the hosts were fabulouses.....location was perfect....right in the heart of the city....highly recomend a stay
My stay with Jim and Rachel couldn't have been better. This was my first Airbnb experience, and it was perfect. Jim and Rachel are extremely hospitable, laid back, and interesting people. Their penthouse is in an ideal location for anything you would want to do in the city. I was in town for Taste of Chicago, and was within just a few blocks of everything. The entire place was spotless, and the views from 6th floor couldn't be better. I don't believe you could find a nicer place, and better people to stay with in the city!
I had a great time in Chicago! Rachel and Jim are very sweet down to earth people who make the space safe, comfortable, and amazing. The bed is oh so cozy and it's great to have a rooftop terrace to eat breakfast and a kitchen to make that breakfast. The apartment is situated in great neighbourhood close to a trader's joe, the bus that takes you up to the loop or the magnificent mile, the institute of art, few walking blocks to the field museum, and a 20 minute walk to the McCormick Centre. Perfect. And must try the Chicago Firehall restaurant just across the street! Yum! Thanks Rachel and Jim...and Pangi (so cute!). I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend the airbnb space.
Beautiful apartment with a rooftop deck, great location in a safe neighborhood within walking distance to the Convention Center, Very clean, and my bedroom was private. The hosts are very nice, extremely accommodating, and solicitous. They are interesting couple. Cute dog, too.
