Ideal for both short or long stays, for business, pleasure, or studies.

The apartment ?
Share with us one time in real Marseille's life, as a local, in a vintage and bohemian style.
We greet you in our old and large apartment 170 square meters, high ceilings, very charming, sunny, facing south, flowered balcony. No direct view from neighbours.
Restroom and bathroom (separated), shared with us.
On the 4th floor (with lift) of a classical bourgeois residence dating mid-XIXth century.
The lounge room and dining room are opening on a balcony, with a 180 degrees stunning view toward south featuring Marseilles iconic Notre-Dame de la Garde hill and church, several heritage buildings, and the orange tiled roofs of the old town.

The location ?
Upper-end of La Canebiere avenue, Reformes neighbourhood.
Ideal location, in the heart of the city to discover it by foot. The old port (Vieux Port) and the typical ancient neighbourhood of Le Panier are 800m away. A handful of cultural facilities are within walking distance: Mucem, FRAC, Longchamp museums and park, Cantini Museum, several theaters and cinemas, concert hall, opera house ... All kinds of street markets are happening in the neighbourhood (fresh seafood market, Mediterranean food market, organic market, flower market, christmas market...), as well as plenty of shopping options (traditional or new malls).

A personalized hike in Calanques ?
A private trip on a typical fishing boat "pointu" ?
You will meet a specialized guide, or a fisherman, english speaking.

Long stay ?
Why not ! It will really a pleasure.

Check in/out time
Very flexible, and we will do our best to be ok with your preferences, but we definetely need to know your check in and out time before confirmation.

Guest access

Your room is private, and we share usual commodities : bathroom, toilets, living-room, dining-room, kitchen and balcony.

Interaction with guests

Feel like at home, as much independant and friendly as you want ; the main rule is respect and open mind. Our place is definitely all human friendly.
You will find an authentic handmade "savon de Marseille" for you in the room (except if our feeder has no more stock).

The neighborhood

See the description.
Otherwise, you will find a lot of useful and touristic informations in the room, maps, books, time schedule, guides, and restaurant addresses.

Getting around

After confirmation, you will receive a specific e-mail with all useful informations you need to reach our address depending you arrive by car, by bus, by train or by plane.

Saint Charles central station (airport shuttles, trains, TGV) is 600 m from home.
City buses, metro 1 & 2, tramway 1, 2 & 3, bikes rental stations, in front of the building.
By car, motorways A7, A50 and A55 are easily and quickly accessible through tunnels, and there is an underground supervised parking in front of the building.

Other things to note

The most important to feel comfortable from the first minute : decide between you and us of your check in time, depending your own timing and our personal commitments.

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events

Non smoking apartment, but smokers appreciate a lot the balcony.
Quiet and very free way of life ; some tell about us we are unconventionals. For us it's a compliment more than a criticism.

Life in this place is quite "old school", friendly, free and easy, and unceremonious way.

Michel and Odile must be the best host in Marseille. The most important thing in my voyage is meeting them, they prepare all the things you need in the trip, they always give a big hand to me. Before the trip, they sent me the info of their place. It's located in the middle of Marseille, it takes 10mins to get to St. Charles station and 15 mins to the Old port. (The view there is stunning.) The place looks exactly the same with the photo even bigger and warmer than I expect, also the living room and balcony is AMAZING. They had well decorated all the place here, although the building was built in 1950s (it's a bit old) The room had all the information you need in Marseille or Provence. Michel prepared breakfast for me in the early morning with everything I need. ( Truly appreciate what he did for me at 6.15am ). And the breakfast is much better than some three or four star hotel here. As the cute couples are busy, I always stay with their little cute kitten, Yoda. She's cute and love to stay with people. The only bad thing is I do not have enough time to stay in Marseille, everything is perfect in the house and the host also. I truly recommend everyone come to Marseille to stay in their house.

Response from Michel Et Odile:
Thanks a lot patia, your comment is so kind ! Just notice that our building is now more 150 years old, built in the middle of nineteenth century. And you know that Marseille is the oldest city in France : 2600 years. Come back one day, there are a lot of spots to see.

Stay with Michel and Odile was a great pleasure. They provide you all the information you need to know and to do in Marseille. They provide breakfast which gave me the fresh energy to start the day and you won't get from every host. Don't be overwhelmed by the books, I like the picture book very much. The location is perfect, just near the Reformation Church and easy to get to the vieux port and the main attraction. Thanks Michel and Odile for your hospitality, I like my stay in Marseille very much. Hong

The house is amazing. The view is great and the location is just middle of the station and the old port so you can just walk!! And the room has everything you need to discover Marseille. But the best thing about staying this house is kindness of the host. Michele was like my father to me. He welcomed me, made breakfast for me, and when i almost tried to give up the trip, he gave me the courage. I had hard time for looking next destination, and he really tried to help me. I had a best memory in marseille because of staying this house!

My hosts Michel and Odile were very welcoming and were very helpful with any questions I had. They have an intriguing apartment on the fourth floor. I loved the decor. Through the large front windows are stunning views and a glorious breeze flows in the hot Summer. There is a large bedroom thankfully with a fan as it was very hot.

Returned to Marseille to watch France vs. Germany (France won!) and stayed again at Michele and Odile's apartment. They are exceptional nice and helpful. You'll enjoy your stay with them.

Lovely hosts, lovely apartment. Conveniently situated between the train station and the Old Port. Michel and Odile are there for you when you need them, but will otherwise give you your space. It's a vast apartment! Loved Marseille and can't wait to return :)

Young minded, we have a very free way of life, and we are busy : we work a lot, Odile in musical culture, she sings herself, and I as an independant books publisher. We have a lot of associatives activities too.
We have a professional office at home, and in town too, a lovely black cat named Yoda, many friends (often artists), and we often are out in evening ; anyway we like have a drink and share some good wine.
We speak english but not very fluent (but we progress), and we like meet new people from abroad.

We travelled in many places around the world. Our home is full of souvenirs from everywhere.
