The historical neighbourhood around Bergmannstrasse with houses dating back to the late 19th century is famous for it’s culinary diversity and charming atmosphere. Restaurants ranging from French & Italian cuisine to Asian and middle Eastern kitchen next to small cafes serving home made cakes and freshly roasted coffee. The historical Marheineke Food Hall offers German and biological specialities. At night you'll find bars and some hidden music clubs.

Supermarkets, pharmacies and grocery stores for the daily needs, as well as stores for antiques, gold&silver, vintage fashion and designed interior are all within walking (website hidden) oasis like the Chamissoplatz with its small hidden park and dreamy corner cafe and the inviting Viktoria Park with old winding trees and it’s sparkling waterfall close by.

  • We spent almost 5 weeks in Julia's apartment in Kreuzberg and had a wonderful stay. We had a nice chat with Julia when we came and she gave us a tour of her bright, clean and spacious apartment. Communication was easy and swift both before and during our stay. The neighbourhood is lively, with Bergmanstrasse close by, but the apartment is located on a quiet side street. We really enjoyed our stay and was sad to leave such a welcoming place. We can, without hesitation, give our warmest recommendation of the apartment and of Julia as a host! We would definitely want to return - thank you!

  • Julia is a great landlord, and moreover a warm and considerate person. She always responded very quickly to our emails. The flat looked as good as on the website, and I really recommend her as a host.

  • We stayed at Julia's place in Kreuzberg for 3 months this year. It was fabulous. The apartment was warm, comfortable, well equipped, and quiet at night. the neighbours were personable, and we highly recommend it. Julia also recommended some restaurants for our Christmas lunch, which was a great success too.

Before I moved to Berlin 5 years ago, I took every chance to travel to new places and I am still nourished by the wonderful experiences I made and the lovely people I met. I have multicultural roots and besides growing up in Germany, I have lived in the Netherlands, Japan and Bulgaria. I have worked in the contemporary art scene (with focus on Central and South Eastern Europe) for some time. Currently I spend most of my time with my MA programme in Intercultural Communication Studies. I am interested in contemporary arts, sustainability, health and nutrition, spritual growth, holistic perspectives, running, trekking, and more recently 5 rhythm dancing by Gabrielle Roth. I'm offering my apartment for anyone open minded and respectful who wants to experience Berlin and explore this very diverse city. I will try to meet you in person when you arrive to talk about all the details and get to know each other and help you getting orientation in the neighbourhood. You will have the whole apartment as your private space, but in case of any emergency you can contact me. My place is a LGBT friendly place.
