Interaction with Guests
I will not be present when guests are staying. I will meet guests to let them in and give them a tour. They are free to contact me with any questions they may have during their stay.
I love that I have everything I need on my doorstep and don't need to leave the neighbourhood on the weekend if I don't need to. I have put together a booklet of what the area has to offer that guests can use while they are here.
Personal favourites are St Jude cafe, Wah Wah Lounge, Maya De Dhaba Indian restaurant, Tapas at The Carrington Hotel and restaurant, Bourke St Bakery.
There is a big new Coles Supermarket right on the doorstep open from 7am until 11pm most nights. The complex has a great wine shop called Vine and the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
There is a bus stop diagonally opposite the apartment complex. The (phone number hidden) busses take you through the city to Circular Quay and the M20 takes you to Central Railway Station. These buses are very frequent. The M20 is a prepay bus, you cannot pay with cash and must have a ticket before boarding. The newsagent between the complex and the bus stop (right next to Coles Supermarket) sells travel ten tickets which give you 10 trips on the bus.
It is a 20/25 minute walk to Central Railway Station where the vast majority of city & State trains go through.
Bourke St is one of the main accesses to Sydney Airport and there are always cabs available right outside.
This is not an area where you need a car. If you have one there is nearly always parking in the complex.
Smoking on balcony only, no pets, no partying. Minimum 2 night stay. 2 guests sharing only. No extra guests allowed without being previously discussed.
Barry made everything possible for a fantastic stay in a great location. It is the little things that make the difference and Barry has excelled in making us more than welcome and our stay very comfortable.
We highly recommend this apartment and host for a fantastic stay in Sydney. Great transport, supermarkets and restaurants at your door. Most enjoyable. Will always come back.
Lovely apartment which was exactly as described. Barry was a fantastic host. Highly recommended!
Barry was a wonderful host. He answered all our questions promptly and thoroughly and when we arrived he gave us a tour, tips and a guidebook! The apartment is very clean and well-equipped (especially in the kitchen) and very convenient. There were tonnes of cafes and restaurants on our doorstep and the lovely neighbourhoods of Surry Hills and Redfern are walking distance; and an added bonus of a lovely city view from the balcony! I would highly recommend a stay in Barry's apartment if you are looking to spend some time in the city, away from the noise and bustle.
Barry was an excellent host. The apartment was well presented, and really convenient. The parking facilities were great, as a secure park was available in addition to off-street guest parking. The swimming was a refreshing bonus. Barry replied promptly to all our inquiries and was very helpful on all counts. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable.
Barry was very accommodating and met our every wish with ease. His apartment is very well located and close to everything and meets every expectation. We were very pleased with the quality and luxury of the apartment and advise highly if every you wish to stay in Sydney.
Booking with Barry was a breeze. He responded to my initial inquiry immediately. It was my first time using AirBnB so after I shared my verifications, Barry helped us with the booking.
The apartment is exactly as described in the ad. Its a beautiful and very comfortable home, well-located in the Surry Hills area, with excellent access to Centennial Park and buses into the CBD.
Barry got up early on the Saturday morning to help us settle in after arriving on the overnight flight. He was very welcoming and friendly and make it very clear that we could contact him at any time for any problem/questions we had. During our week's stay, we had no issues at all, and any questions we might have had were addressed in a helpful booklet left by Barry.
Barry also makes you feel very welcome in the details. When we arrived, there was milk and tea for our use. The kitchen is well-stocked with ingredients, spices, pans, as it's clear he himself is a handy cook.
Staying at Barry's was an unforgettable and excellent primer AirBnB experience. I very very highly recommend Barry and his apartment for anyone visiting beautiful Sydney!
