Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We stayed at Darren's place for a week in March and we had a great time. The flat is very clean and cozy. Darren had prepared everything and was waiting us for the check-in. He was really friendly and helpful. The flat is very well located in Brooklyn with a lot of options around for eating, shopping and commuting. It is quite big (for a NYC flat) and and offers everything that you would need. I would definitely suggest to anyone staying at Darren's apartment!

  • We had a perfect time at Darren's place ! He has a lovely appartment in a great location. Many nice restaurants, little shops and everything you need at the corner. It takes only 15min to get to Manhattan with the subway (very close, around 4 min walking).
Darren's place is the cosiest and cleanest we could ever wish.
We highly recommend to go there. It was the perfect way to discover New York as if it were our home.

  • We had a great stay at Darren's place. The apartment is spacious, more spacious than the pictures would suggest. It is very well located in lively Court Street, next to a bagel shop and a Starbucks, close to several restaurants and bars and a supermarket. Subway stations are only a couple of blocks away.
The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Since the bedroom is located at Court Street side it is kind of noisy, but you get used to that (and earplugs help too).
Darren was away himself but kept in touch with us through mail. He left us with some nice treats in the fridge and a clear 'manual' for the apartment and its surroundings, including some tips for nice restaurants.

We'd recommend this apartment to anyone and would definitely stay here again ourselves!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Darren's apartment. It was surprisingly
spacious, especially for a studio; perfect for a couple. The interior was
very well maintained and Darren had left if very clean for our arrival. In
addition, we greatly appreciated all the small touches he had left; they
made us feel particularly at home. The only minor negative point to say
about the apartment itself, is that there was a very noticeable noise from
the radiators every morning which was sometimes enough to wake us up.

The location in Cobble Hill was ideal for us as first time visitors to NYC.
The local amenities were varied and all of high quality. There was a great
selection of shops, bars and restaraunts within easy walking distance. The
local metro station was only 5 minutes away and allowed very easy access to
Manhattan, Coney Island and any other part of Brooklyn that we wished to

As a host, Darren was always easy to contact and willing to provide helpful
information on any subject we wished. When it came to towards the end of
our stay, and we decided to extend our visit, he was incredibly
accommodating in allowing us to stay an extra four days.

We fully intend to return to NYC at some point in the future and Darren's
apartment in Cobble Hill will be top of our list when we do.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this pleasant apartment, perfect for a single person or couple. The location is perfect for enjoying the wonderful Cobble Hill neighborhood, as well as for getting quickly into Manhattan. Darren was a perfect host, attentive yet discreet. Court Street is a busy street, and light sleepers should bring earplugs but we found this a small inconvenience outweighed by the location, decor and seamless coordination with Darren.

  • We spent 10 days at Darren's place. If you're looking for a clean, confortable and agreeable place to stay (decorated with taste), do not hesitate anymore.

The place is bigger than it looks on the pictures, the kitchen is super-equiped (I can't imagine a dish that would be impossible to cook in Darren's kitchen : he has all the household electrical you need and even more !!), there is a large choice of DVD and books if you are too tired to go out at night or too awoken to sleep at night. No need to be an explorer discover the neighbourhood, Darren has prepared a book in which everything is compiled : the best restaurants, the supermarkets around, etc), you will also like all the small things Darren put around for you (orange juice, etc)

Each time we had a question or something, Darren answered very quickly

You can go by walk to different metro stations (Bergen Street on F & G lines and Borough Hall on 2,3,4 & 5 lines), the neighbouhood is very pleasant, you will like to have a Trader's Joe supermarket and a fruits & vegetables storeat 5 minutes from the flat

  • We had a wonderful time in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. The apt is so close to Manhattan and Brooklyn itself has some great places to discover. The neighborhood is peaceful and relaxed, with a Starbucks and some great bars and restaurants just around the corner. Darren was a fantastic host who made us feel really comfortable. He was there for us when we needed him and had a solution for everything. Glad he was our first Airbnb host ever! His apt is exactly like the pictures (we were positively amazed by the real size), clean and with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom to make you feel at home. We fitted easily in the bed, though it's not king-size (might be something for the ‘bigger’ guest to remember that). You would definitely enjoy the fruits of this great-located and harmonious place to stay.

  • We stayed for 8 days at Darren’s apartment and not only the stay was just great, but also the preparation during which he provided all necessary information, being a very nice contact and thus raising our anticipation for the trip.
Arriving at Darren’s place and warmly welcomed by himself, we found a caringly decorated and furnished apartment that made us feel like entering a home away from home from the very moment we had passed the threshold. It offered amenities like free Wi-Fi and a lot of goodies in the fridge to make for our first breakfast. Not to mention a place to rest after exciting days in the Big Apple. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very clean. The location was just great as a Starbuck’s, supermarkets and some nice restaurants were just a stone’s throw away. If you want to go to Manhattan, the F train stop is also just a block down the street. So it is the perfect location for both exploring Brooklyn (which we strongly recommend to do) and the rest of New York. Darren made for a wonderful host, being frequently in touch with us and answering any questions we had.
We had a wonderful time at Darren’s apartment and if coming back to NYC, we would definitely try to stay at Darren’s again. Carolin & Chris, Germany

  • My husband and I stayed at Darren's apartment May 14-19, 2013. Darren was a wonderful host. He was very easy to get in touch with and responded to all my email questions quickly. Upon arrival Darren was gracious and provided us with helpful information about his apartment and the neighborhood. The apartment is a good sized one bedroom and was very clean and comfortable. The bedroom is on Court Street so some people might find it a bit noisy; it didn't bother me and my husband wore earplugs as a precaution. We really enjoyed the neighborhood as well; there are many good restaurants and there are a couple of subway stops nearby. If/when we return to Brooklyn we will definitely try to stay at Darren's apartment again!

  • We had a wonderful time at Darren's place.
The apt is big, with everything you need. We were late and Darren waited for us. He also left us orange juice in the fridge, cereal box for breakfast, and some delicious chocolate. The apt was super clean, you have everything you need, the bed is super comfy, the tv is bug, with lot of dvds.
We are definitely coming back next time we're coming to NY.
By the way, the neighborhoud is amazing, tons of amazingrestaurants, coffee place, etc.

Greetings! I live for New York but happen to love traveling all over the world. I also enjoy studying films, reading eccentric stuff, getting lost in art museums, and cooking with family and friends. What inspires me lately is meeting wonderful Airbnb guests and hosts. My hope is to open a happy, comfortable and peaceful place one day-- a bed & breakfast inn. In a gentle way, you can shake the world. Mahatma Gandhi
